  1. Hi Everyone,

    I have my 1998 R34 4 Door up for sale.

    I've owned this car since 2005. I purchased it from Sportscar Warehouse in Southport who imported it into Australia.

    It's been a great car. I've put in a stereo:

    * Alpine Head Unit

    * Alpine 6" coax rears

    * Boston Pro 60 6.5" split fronts

    * Coustic 4 channel Amp

    * Alpine 500W Monoblock Sub Amp

    * Alpine 12" Type R sub

    * All doors sound deadened with Dynamat Extreme

    The engine has remained stock except for some Yellow Jacket coil packs to fix the annoying Skyline coil pack issue.

    The car came with a turbo timer when I purchased it.

    I've recently had the car tinted. Less than 6 weeks old.

    I've only ever had 1 issue with the car and that was when I went to start it and it randomly wouldn't kick over. I got Lube Mobile out to take a look at it and they said the compression was wrecked and that the engine was ruined. There is a post around here about it somewhere questioning how it worked perfectly up until that point then all of a sudden wouldn't start. After the car sat in my front yard for 3 months waiting for me to work out what I was going to do with it, I replaced the now-flat battery and the car kicked over first go and never had any issues since. Turns out the ECU just needed to be reset.

    I've had a new car since April 2004 and I was going to do this car up into a weekend weapon, but now I'm buying a house and could use the money. I've kept it registered and insured (Just Car) up until now but registration lapsed in February. The car does need some things done for roadworthy:

    * L/H & R/H Tie Rod Ends Worn (Quoted $200)

    * Wheel Alignment

    * All tyres (I think these are borderline very borderline. Currently has Michelin Pilot Sport 3) (Quoted $132 each for cheapies)

    * Caster Bushes worn (Quoted $240)

    Price: $6,000 as is, unregistered.

    I'm happy to get the above items fixed and the car registered (12months from Feb) however price will be $8,000.

    I have also attached a carsales Car Facts report if you'd like to check it out.

    Mobile: 0433 261 660

    Located: Rochedale South

    Kilometres: 143,280

    Reason for selling: Buying a house, have a work car and no longer need the skyline.

    Any questions, let me know.

    Cheers,

    Dave

  2. Good to hear mate. It's a little late now but if you search the forums there's a way to run a self test on the air con and fan system (It's been about 4 years since I did one, but I think it's by holding a button down as you start the car).

    It goes through and tests the motor, air con, temp sensor, light sensor and so on, and probably would have shown an error for that part.

    Cheers,

    Dave

  3. You're indicator bar / light switch isn't just pushed forwards to the high beam spot? I had a similar issue in an old car of mine and it ended up being that whole indicator bar... replaced that and was all good.

  4. Hi Everyone,

    I bought a Pathfinder 6 months ago which I am now in the process of selling and going to drive my 34 again. About 2 months after I bought it, when I would start the car, if I had left the Air Con Fan on say 2, there would be no fan... So I would turn it up to 4, then when I turned it back to 2, it was all good. Then it got worse where 1,2 & 3 no longer blow any air. My Air Con works perfectly, is nice and cold, but it has to be on 4 to work.

    I have tried replaced the two blower fuses, even though they were all good. And swapped the blower & air con relays with an identical one used elsewhere in the car and still no good. Has anyone seen this before or know what it could be?

    Cheers,

    Dave

  5. Hi everyone,

    I've had 2 cars for the last 6 months, and my Skyline has sat still doing nothing now for the last 4 months due to it's tires needing to be replaced and me not having the cash to do it.

    I've now sold my second car freeing up the cash to get the Skyline sorted again, but I'd like to just hear some recommendations on what I should do for a car that hasn't been run / started for 4 months.

    I plan on:

    * Changing Oil & Filter

    * Changing Radiator Fluid

    * Changing spark plugs

    Should I be completely replacing the brake & steering fluid etc... ?

    Cheers,

    Dave

  6. Nah not me. I have the stock 34 rims and live in a culdersac.

    I just had a read about checking engine compression and it suggested that I should do it with a warm engine as that helps the metal and gaskets expand giving a more accurate reading, and to do it will all of the spark plugs out to allow the starter to spin more freely. Think that would have any impact? I wouldn't think it would give that much of a wack reading from cold...
