  3. The CEF33 is running a stroked RB20 (Now 2.4l) thanks to a Tomei Stroker kit. JIC coilovers, Nismo clutch, Cusco 2-Way, Cusco Roll Cage. And heaps of other fun stuff.

Yeah it's a Uras Monkey Magic kit and it is very low. Our roads are shit too. You just have to be on the ball and look out for pot holes and big bumps or dips in the road.

    -Daniel

  4. There's a very nice blue Cefiro here in Brisbane, looks low with coilovers and appears to have one of those URAS monkey magic kits :(

Ha Ha, that would be my car I guess. It's Black with Blue Pearl.

Look out for it in one of the next two Drift Battle Magazines!

    -Daniel

  5. Yeah would have been good to catch up!

We couldn't get out of our street, we had Niagra Falls in the back yard and The River Wild just down the road.

I emailed you and Ben to see if you can chase up any more info about the car from Japan. She will be gracing the pages (and hopefully the cover) of one of the next two drift battle magazines! We are doing the photoshoot next week so I am busy ordering and fitting all the cool stuff I need. i.e HKS Turbo!

I have to pretty up to dodgy rolled guards as well! The paint has a wicked blue metallic in it that you can't see from photos, which is cool but is making the paint hard to match.

  6. All imported vehicles require a compliance plate. The old 15year imports use the same VIN number as in Japan but SEVS complied cars are issued with a new VIN number.

15y.o cars have a modification plate to say that the car complies with Australian Design Rules

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  7. 1st weekend with the car registered was awesome! God I love this machine.

Got the seasts and the cage mod plated so no dramas there! The lady at queensland transport was like "it;s a bit low isn't it" and i'm like arrrr here is my roadworthy! Which the guy who did was a champ!

Yes we had some difficulties getting the car out of the container. We had to modify the ramps with wooden blocks and the front bar still scraped! I can't get it in any driveway, mine or my girlfriends. But it's worth it, looks phat.

Going to try and get a tune this week then hopefully to the track on Friday night for dorifto!

  8. foznice: yeah definitely agree with these guys, you are not allowed to drive an uncomplied car on the road at all! Even with dealer plates. I'm sure about the compliance and registering in different states. I would say though that it wouldn't matter for 15y.o imports and it makes the car adhere to AUSRALIAN design rules (ADR). Not sure though.

Should have the car back from compliance friday morning. Then get a quick phoneworthy and off to queensland transport in the afternoon to register it.

Jamie, Hows it going with the self compliance?

Sorry guys, photos still to come.

  9. The cost is $1320 including GST. That is for full compliance, mod plate for seats and cage and the engineers sign off.

Additional costs will be the High Flowed Cat Converter, "Bout $150" he thinks? and the RWC $50.

Then obviously rego on top of that.

bryanfc: I don't think it needs a mechanic? I have been told a lot of cars that come over from Japan just have flat batteries. They have usually been sitting there doing nothing for a while. Mine started first go. Just lucky I guess. Not to say it isn't something more serious but don't think the worst.

I dare say it wouldn't be good moving it with a forklift esecially if it has a bodykit. Make them let it sit there until you go out with a jump pack or a mechanic. You usually pay for 3 or 4 days storage at the warf anyway.

  10. The car is at compliance!

svd164: I couldn't recommend the J-Spec guys highly enough. They found the 'perfect car' and made the whole process really easy and now I own the coolest ceffy I have ever seen!

Danny: I'm sure you'll get 5 mins to come for a strap! Just say you are going out to buy her a present or something?

foznice: I'm getting it complied at Innovative Auto Design in Springwood. The guy seemed to really know what he was talking about and I had a few people recommend him. The only issue with mine he said is that it has no Cat so he is organising a high flowed 3" to chuck in there. He is also organising mod plates for the seats and the cage. He said it should only take about 3 days as well which would be good.

    I'll post pics soon.

    Daniel

P.S Two way diffs and a stroked RB20 are good fun!

  11. I'd be more worried if Ron had anything to do with it!

Jamie and I had an awesome day yesterday, arrived at the docks at one. Jamie drove his out of the container and I pushed mine. His is faster but mine was certainly lower. The guys at the docks said it was the lowest car they have ever seen. Excellent.

We inspected out cars and found everything to be as promised from Japan, even my spare drift rims in the boot and Jamies back seat which I'm sure he wo't be needing.

After waiting for about an hour and half (went to the servo to kill time) we came back to find our cars had obviously been inspected by customs. About 5 minutes later the guy came over and gave us the all clear. They both past quarantine.

So we slapped on the dealer plates and, after some massive under car scrapige on the way out, we left for home.

Car is awesome, couldn't be happy, drives like a dream...good for a drift car!

    Off to compliance today!

  12. Have now. Ha Ha.

Thanks so much for all your help mate, you're a champion. I will be recommending you guys to anyone looking to import. J-Spec - the import kings!

Jamie and I are both picking up our cars today. The unpack is at 1.00pm and quarantine is at 3.00pm.

I'm going to explode with excitement.

Foznice: Im pretty sure it was the first boat available. Hang in there mate, you will have your car in no time.

    -Daniel
