  1. yeah.. also interested in the vg30 turbo if no shaft play.. but what prices on.

  3. they said about 4 hours then maybe another 1 for cam gears, thats a damn good hourly rate.

    Thinkin about doing a tuning course, costs about 1 g and I could charge others hehe

    thats the problem with us up here in QLD everything is double the price of elsewhere, i got a rough idea to tune my safc at stafford tune and he was talkin around the $1100 mark :angry:

  4. Sticking with the det motor, fixing the big end bearing and whatever else is mangled.

    Shouldn't be *to* much longer, hopefully, it'll last a little whlie this time ahah.

    Maybe i'll drive it like a grandma :P

    let me know how you go with big-end and main bearings, as ive been told that everyone lists the wrong ones for the DET, im doing my silvertop at the moment, i have a DE motor here and was going to do the same as you but now i think i will pass on that idea

  5. ive just bought 3 rb20 motors and building one for my r31, ive got 2 DET's and 1 really low milage DE, im rebuilding the bottom end and putting it all together soon, i was thinking of using the DE head on my new motor as ive heard the cams are slightly better?? but noticed the part numbers are different on the heads between DET and DE, are the ports the same? valves same? i would like to use this head as it is as close to new as you can get, anyone reccomend any cheap mods before i put it all together? im doing a set of rings and shells in it so whats the best available brand?? or do i got to nissan for those parts?

  6. the r31 came out with 3 different rb20's the 2 redtops (nics and eccs) both 12 port head, and also came out with a silvertop in mid 89 only 400 odd made and were the experimental motor to be used in the r32 but still used the redtop ecu and wiring/CAS but had the 6 port head and the same 'o' injectors used in the newer silvertops, the nics had problems with the actuator that controls the butterflies in the runners, the bottom ends in all rb20's are the same just the heads are different, the redtop had more aggresive cams than the silvertop and are interchangeable

  7. I have a full working copy on DVD if anyone still wants to get it.

    Also included are the 32 GTR and GTST manuals, 33 Manual and acrobat reader to view them.

    Cover the cost of the DVD and postage and anyone can have a copy.

    Plus throw in a spare DVD for good measure.

    yeah thanks, i got it in under 2 hrs, if anyone has the aussie version id be verry interested as i have a aus spec r31
