  1. One of the reasons i got rid of my 9 second street car...& then got a gtr .

Gtr's to me were a good all rounder ,fast street, circuit, drag ...you can do much more with one than my pain in the ass ,cranky aspirated chevy on alcohol.

Dont get me wrong i love drag racing..but it can be f*ckin boring waithing in staging lanes all day lucky to get a couple of passes.

Although i do miss being able to mash the throttle at 100 k's...& paint black lines on the freeway for a couple hundred metres.

I think gtr's should be kept manual & as close to original type setups as possible...to me it seems kind of silly to turn a zilla into a back half , tube chassis,or glide with transbrake type of car and still call it a streetcar..to me doing that loses its appeal.

    Each to there own though.

( I like dirt's gtr because its still original looking, fast,& retains most things as nissan designed it)

With You all the way there Mate,

Sounds like we come from a very similar background. Good to hear.

    Cheers SCOOP.

  2. Ok guys. Went out to last meeting and finally cracked the 10's. 2nd run was a 10.8 @ 129.8 mph (hit the rev limiter in 3rd) and 6th run was 10.7 @ 125.9 mph. Best 60' was 1.63 and 102 mph half track. All done 1st - 4th only with the six speed. I finally worked out how to clutchless shift the dog box smoothly and accurately. This turbo has also been confirmed as an HKS T51S full kit with a 1.00 a/r exhaust so I think there should be more in this combo left. Still, it's the fastest GTR and street legal car around here.

Congrats on the 10sec mate!! :D

  3. Hi Marko,

I ran a 10.95 @ 127mph with 1.607 60ft in my GTR and a bloke I know ran a 10.8 something at 125mph, So you definatly have it! :whistling: . I was running Federal tyres.

    Cheers Scoop

i finally got out there last night & did my run - btw my new exedy twin plate clutch is awesome so i highly recommend this to anyone looking for a strong clutch...

i did my 4 runs & here are the results of my last 2 runs:

    8.00pm run:

    11.18ET, 1.54sec60' @ 118.75mph

unfortunately i kept it in 3rd gear across the finish line & it was literally on the limiter for what probably felt like 1sec.

this would have been my 10sec run if i shifted into 4th.

    9.30pm run:

    11.15ET, 1.61sec60' @ 128.65mph

this time i short shifted into 4th gear earlier than usual @ approx 7500rpm to drive the car across the finish line which gave me the better mph BUT i ruined my 60' launch as i didn't put enough heat in tyres, the car kicked out almost 45degree in my 2nd gear burnout & i couldnt bring it back so i had to let it go.

the equation i was given is every .1sec you save on a 60' time = .2sec save on ET time.

from this if i get my 60' down to 1.51sec im there, i.e. 11.15 - .2 = 10.95 (i now know how to launch & drive my car, finally...)

paul - thank you once again for allowing me to borrow your wheels & suspension, you're 1 of a kind :D

i will be getting out there once again over the next few weeks to claim my 10 :):):)

  4. beat my PB tonight with a 10.907 @ 129mph. did it on my last run of the night which was good so i still got 3 runs in before that

Congrats Mate!! Awsome stuff!!!! :) Make them update the thread!!, you deserve the recognition. You are driving it spot on ;) And am enjoying your progress.

  6. Hah, only just got myself an R32 GT-R a few months back. You car sounds very nice and all these others are praising it. I think if I bought it, that I would be missing out on that whole build up process, there is something about doing your own, part of the journey. Besides, I live in WA.

Good luck with the sale, hopefully you can find a way to hold onto it though.

<--- P.S Anyone know how to change the engine type under my pic?

Thanks mate. Car is now sold pending final payment. Thanks to everyone for your interest. :)

  7. Cool Cool, I think it would be ok if i left it NSW reg... I do have that option if i want. I was just concerned i dont want to have to pull it all apart and put stock parts in when the reg is due

Are you firstly interested in WRX trade or shall i move it on them come see you ?

the link is in the first post i made here .

Hi again mate, Ive had some reasonable offers PM'd to me, But what sort of money would you be talking with the swap?

  8. Thank's Scoop

I live on the border of NSW and Vic....The reason i ask is i have had a r32 gtr and in victoria where mine was registered it became a magor head ache roadworthy wise with aftetrmarket pfc , pods, BOVs and coil overs plus i had to chase up a standard intercooler.

I am fairly interested in this car but need to know it will pass with its mods when the rego comes to an end ... you have yearly RWC required dont you ?

Dont know your rules down there but here we get a pinkslip and alls well, long as tires, lights, brakes etc r all rite thats basicly it, blue slip is another matter. If rwc stands for road worthy cert then thats a pink slip and yes I have it somewhere, not that it would be any good to you down there by the sounds of it. Maybe you need to talk to the rego people down there. :P At least I think thats how it works :)

  9. Hi scoop!

Can i ask a few curly questions?

How would i go Roadworthy wise with some of these mods once the rego runs out? Ie intercooler , blow off valves and PFC. I dont have a clear understanding of NSW process. How long left on the reg ?

With it being a 92 model! Do you know if it has the oil pump Upgraded Contact surface Rb26

What is the bonnet on it ?

    MY99 SUBARU WRX FOR SALE

Hi mate, why would you let the rego run completely out? Car has mostly all standard features, They came out with big intercoolers anyway, blow off valves are standard and work quite well so no need to upgrade, power fc sits in standard spot, all cars like this will need aftermarket computer anyway. Most factory computers(r32) are starting to get old and play up now anyway. Bonnet is carbonfiber/fiberglass. Standard bonnet comes with car. Id say oil pump drive would be old style so keep revs conservative.

  10. see if you like what i have to offer in the link below

I was actually reading the for sales on boostcruising, found yours and read it. then went back on here and you had messaged me, freaky. Sorry but realy want to sell or swap something fairly cheaper + cash adjust, thanks anyway and good luck with your sale.

  11. Im back guys, Any decent offers or swaps? I really dont want to go any further with her if I can help it, would need to get it fitted out to race if I want to keep going and its just getting to expensive. Would love MK1 Cortina to build and race but cant find one. Can anyone help? :) And thanks guys.

  12. Take it for what it is, A "tribute" to a deceased friend! We all have different ways to deal with grief. Its not about Him saying one thing but doing another. Geez the guy asked people not to reply with sarcastic or rude comments but people just have to open there mouths and show disrespect. Its sadly a story about a bloke that made a mistake and paid the ultimate price, And regardless whether His mate has learnt from it or not this story brings real life to our attention, Hopfully it will help us to think twice next time. PS, obviously there will be people scrutinising my post for any inconcistancies, Thats fine waste your time. The majority of people will understand what Im trying to say and thats all that matters. So try your hardest or try to look at this the way its meant to be, A TRIBUTE. :)
