  4. I think I said earlier, driving the Crewman back from QLD with the trailer and race car on board. it did an average of 19 litres per 100K's.. We seemed to be stopping every half hour to fuel up.

    was a horrible drive.

I know in any of the diesel 4WD's the consumption would have been a lot lower and probably a more comfortable and safer drive.

  5. I have the horn for a Grand Cherokee Diesel. $57K drive away

Problem is whenever I bring it up the wife says "not till you do the last 2 years tax"

She is just NO fun when it comes to money. :(

  6. Petrol Jeep won't tow enough for me, it's yours Ben. Thanks for the heads up Tekky.

He's got a VZ V8 Holden ute to go as well. Its in great nick too. My Son Scott has been driving it. Think that will be cheap as well. Not sure what he wants for that probably around 10-12K

  7. Rich, I know someone with a 2009 Jeep Renegade petrol 4 door he wants to sell urgently. PM me on the zed forum if you want some details

Think its a financial thing. He needs it gone like NOW. Would be sub 20K easily

  8. so the AIM dash doesn't have external alarm option?? Can't you use a pwm on the motec to turn on a light/buzzer under certain conditions? Just seems like it would be a heap of wiring to have the inputs going to 2 devices. I know I can do this with my IQ3 dash

I have to admit I havent really drilled down into either the Motec or AIM data to see if they are capable of the alarms I need. I intend to run the CAN to give me all the normal engine measurements the ECU needs to function correctly. I spose I should pull my finger out and read the books. :)

  9. Looking for an alarm system that I can use to alarm fuel pressure, EGT, oil pressure.

Not interested in guages, Just want a system that buzzes loudly and shines a light when something is wrong.

    Ideas???

  10. I am selling these on behalf of a mate who has moved to the UK. They are here at my place in Berwick, Victoria.

These are worth well over $4K to buy new! All 4 were fully serviced (new oil, seals etc) at Aragosta before they left Japan (organized by Jesse Streeter) so basically they are now 'as new', 2 new genuine C wrench spanners are provided as well, asking $2400

    Japanese website for Aragosta: http://www.tpl.co.jp/

These are Premium coilovers and would be perfect on R32 or R33

Contact me via Email [email protected]

These are not as heavy as the seats also for sale (another ad) so I suppose these coilovers could be posted at your cost provided they dont weigh more than 20KG.

These are in great condition with NO bolster wear and are just a bit dusty due to storage. The price does not include seat rails, BUT I do know where there are a pair of Skyline/Recaro seat rails for sale from a member of AUS300zx forum so they could be bought to fit them into a SKYLINE

    http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=319919

    Price is $1100 the pair.

Contact me via Email [email protected]

I dont really want to freight but if you want to organize pickup then OK.

  12. search my posts in this thread for fuel consumption figures on the FG turbo and also the commodore VZ V6, i think it's a great choice but i would recommend you factor in a heavy duty load leveling kit which is about $700-$1000.

You would need yur head examined to buy a VZ V6 for towing. I have a VZ crewman and dragged my race car from the gold coast to Melbourne. It used 19 litres to the 100Klms and was a dog towing up hills. The VZ engine is rubbish and has NO torque. The old Buick engine was a better choice for towing.

Falcon all the way if you seriously want to tow cars using an Aussie 6.

I am looking at a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel for my next car. 3500 kg towing and a huge V6 diesel for $56K. Its a slam dunk. Cheaper than a Narvara and most other suggested tow cars.

  13. Plenty of dish on these. smile.gif

I got these with my track car when I bought it. Nice as they are, they are NOT wide enough for me and I really need TE37's or Microlights at least 10 inches wide

They are brand new and have NEVER been on the road but have been fitted with slicks which I will strip off before sale. Just need a dust off and clean up. Or if you want the slicks as well we can work something out.

I paid over 2.5K extra for these with the slicks on them.

Cant see any markings but I have measured they are either 9 inches wide or 9.5. They will swallow 18 inch 255's. Its NOT a staggered set, all 4 wheels are the same. The slicks are 245's and fit no probs, in fact look a little under sized. So for a road car I would fit 18 x 255's rear and 245's front.

They do however look AWESOME fitted up to the car and the offset is perfect for the Z32 or a SKYLINE GTST without spacers. May well fit GTR as well but I am not as sure.

$1200 the set of 4 or make me an offer.

  15. Thinking about it his starts cost him the WDC last year. He was on the front row in Valencia, at the end of the first lap he was 10th or something and ended up hittinh Heikki and a DNF. His Spa start last year cost him the win. His start in Malaysia cost him the win :) But i still luvs ya Webz :)

This is exactly what I was getting at Roy. This has been a very expensive learning process for Webber. Definitly lost him a WDC last year. Didnt help when he went airbourne either :whistling:

  16. thanks for the replies. I didnt have much of an idea how they actually set the car up for a start like that.

I wonder how much of this can be blamed on Webbs !!! Seems that this is automated to the point that the drivers doesnt have to think much about releasing the clutch. You would be essentially a passenger.

Wouldnt you think the dicks setting the throttle and clutch presets would have got this right by now. If I was Mark I would be pretty pissed. Luckily he has managed to pull some good finishes in any case purely by his driving.

Even Vetool's starts havent been all that great the last dozen races. So obviously there is some programming work to do.

  17. Its cause the Bluetooth in the Iphone is a HACK version. There is a lot it cant do. Data interchange via Bluetooth on the Iphone isnt enabled either.

The only Bluetooth on Iphone is hands free. Jacks me off as well seeing I have to connect via cable to transfer all my pictures to my PC. Still Android as an operating system is pretty crappy as well.

    EDIT:

I just ordered a Mini USB to USB cable so I can see if I can connect to the Camera via cable to the Iphone to see where its aimed ETC.

Will let you know how it goes
