  1. hi

i'm putting back together a RB20 that has been sitting in my garage for a few months..and when taking the timing belt off i was sure not to move anything..

so now when trying to put the timing belt back on i may have moved the cams gears a few teeth..

SO the question is...can i adjust the cam gears to their original mark (with the timing belt off) and then adjust the crank to TDC so the dots on the cam gears and crank line up.then put the belt back on??

    cheers.

  2. finally found the page i was looking for....i found a set of 550 injectors that flowed at

    556cc-546cc-558cc-552cc-542cc-546cc

are these margins acceptable.?? i want to run them on my rb20 so its got a cross over pipe..

so like above how you would put the higher flowing injector at the back. would i run the lowest flowing at 3 and 4 being directly above the cross-over pipe.and then the higher ones for 1 and 2 then 5 and 6?

  3. hey all.

just got a set of gtr injectors that i'm going to put in my rb20..they're off ebay, and have been cleaned and flow tested.

i got them today and 2 of the injectors are red and the rest are yellow..i think the 2 red ones are rx7 injectors..

just wanted to know if it matters if i ran the 2 rx7 with the 4 gtr injectors..the previous owner said he ran all 6 of them fine in his gtr.

i'm getting a remap anyway and assuming that the flow rates and duty cycle can be set so they all are the same?

    what do people think?

  4. also. when fitting the actual injector.did people remove the O ring on the bottom of the gtr injector, so the fuel rail can screw in all the way (the gtr injectors seem real tight)?

there already is a rubber seal in the head of the rb20, because the stock injectors dont have this O ring attached to the injector itself.

  5. thanks rekin!!yeah thats a top diagram..

i'm not using the gtr ballast resistor just 6 individual resistors..

so pretty much just putting the resistors on the positive wire before each injector.

or rolls, you think it shouldn't matter either on pos or neg.?could you explain?

    cheers!

  6. i'm from melbourne and there is a place called hiway clutch and brakes, in cambellfield. (they re-bond handbrake shoes too!)

i went to get my flywheel machined as i'm getting a new clutch, but still deciding on what to get. and saw that this place made their own in-house clutches.

they had ceramic cushion and button clutches available, with 750kg clamp loads, for a pretty decent price too. they were similar looking to the exedy range.

i just wanted to know if anyone had bought a clutch from these guys before.? or the pros and cons of getting a clutch from a place like this.

they seem to have a lot of experience in building clutches.

    cheers

  7. hey all.

i've got a rb20det, and i always thought that my 2nd gear syncro was on its way out, coz its hard to down gear into it from 3rd or 4th without it crunching. and it would only change when going under 40km or when the box was warm. so it was always on the cards to get a new box when i could afford it.

but just recently my mate had a drive of my car and noticed that my clutch pedal was sticky, and didn't return to its proper postion.

and he said that the reason its not returning is that the clutch is getting worn and that it hasn't got enough pressure to push the pedal back up.

and this is the reason i havn't been ab;e to shift gears properly and crunching gears..

so i'm not sure if i need to replace clutch or gear box?

i'd just like to hear any other thoughts from anyone.

    cheers.

  8. hey guys.

how do i go about adjusting the throttle on my r32? i read that most cars have the problem of not running full throttle when the foot is planted.

i have tested it when the car is off and pushed the pedal in all the way, and the throttle isn't opening all the way.

    thanks
