    P2832 - Shift Fork 'A' Position Circuit Range/Performance

    Solution for the aftermarket appears to be the TSB Clip (assuming your car is 2011+).

    The shift pistons in the valve body make contact with the forks and move them into position. If these pistons wear, the forks and sliders will no longer shift properly and can be damaged. This is a common problem with the GR6. Prevention is to perform this TSB.

    We have never encountered these problems again after performing this TSB so it has become standard procedure to install clips in every unit we touch.

    APPLIED VEHICLE:2009 – 2011 GT-R (R35)

    For 2009 - The MIL is on and DTC P0729 (6GR Incorrect Ratio) is stored,
    For 2010 - The MIL is on and DTC P0729 (Sleeve A1 Function) is stored,
    For 2011 - The MIL is on and DTC P2832 (Shift Fork A) is stored,


    Here is a picture below of the wear. Note the circled area. It doesn't look like much, but that is enough to cause thousands of dollars in damage:

    The clips will allow for better contact with the piston and prevent the wear or failure.

    There are a series of magnets inside the piston which will become out of range of the sensor if the assembly wears too far. This will prevent the system from recognizing where the piston is moving and the unit will shift the fork too far as it doesn't know the forks location. This is what will break the fork along with the slider. This simple TSB solves any issue you could ever encounter with the fork or sliders. Well worth performing while you have your pan out and this TSB can be completed while the trans is in the vehicle.

    To reduce the annoying excessive heat in the footwells of both the passenger and driver, as is a common complaint with R35's driven in hot conditions (ie. here in Australia), the dump pipes are dual-layer ceramic coated to reduce radiated heat from 170 degrees, down to only 60 degrees!

    This ensures that no matter what the ambient temperature is, basically no heat will be radiated through the footwell, and the temperatures in the cup-holder sections are dramatically reduced.

    These dump pipes have been fitted on my own personal R35 and the decrease in footwell temperatures is instantly noticeable in hot weather, especially on the drivers footrest which was previously ridiculously hot if your foot ever touched it (driving in thongs for example).

    can you confirm empire performance is a responsibility company?

    LOL - yes, we don't sell 'purpo' paint.

    Couple of updates:

    Plugged the COBB AccessPort into it the other day and put a map in it from COBB, 15psi and relatively aggressive. Saw a little too much knock on a data log, so decided to load a more conservative 14psi map into it as I won't get a chance to throw it on the dyno until the 22nd.

    Also loaded up LC5 (launch control from the 2012 models). It now paints all 4 off the line and launches from 4400rpm. So good.

    Took it to the motorplex tonight. Only did 1 run - 11.32 @ 121mph, 1.72 60' time :)

    Intakes, inlets, dump pipes,injectors, fuel pumps all should be going in next week :)

    Video from a run with Brendan in the car, was still an 11.5.

    Cheers :) I can't recommend these cars highly enough. It's an evolutionary mile in front of my old R33 GT-R.

    never heard of empire parts for the r35

    do you have any pics of your intercooler hard pipe kit? is this fab'd in aus?

    You wouldn't have heard of us (Empire is my company) as we've only been supplying wholesale parts to Western Australian shops for the last 6 years. We are only now expanding the 'brand' into selling retail Australia wide.

    Pretty standard failure. Talking to a few of the boys who do some work here on the West coast, they all seem to do it between 25,000-40,000kms. Sounds like you got to the very limit of age / kms before they let go.

    'South Side Performance' now do complete plug-and-play sensors for the R35 as it's such a common problem.

    Interesting, I was under the impression this cannot be done without a Cobb???? They probably just updated the touch points and done :P

    They took about 4 hours to do it (and didn't charge me) so I'm not entirely sure what they did. All I know is it made a very noticeable difference to the way the car drives. It's substantially better now.

    Something i have noticed with the TCM which i have not seen mentioned anywhere as far as i know is that on the standard software,if you have it in R for gearshifts,when you go from auto to manual and vice versa you have to put it back to R each time.

    With the cobb software it stays in R when you switch from auto to manual and back again,nifty feature as this would always annoy me.

    That is a handy feature. I have no idea why they set it to kick out of R mode from the factory, very annoying!

    i bought my exhaust direct off alibaba from one of the ti exhaust manufacturers in china

    it's 90mm, sounds great with de-catted downpipes and catted midpipe (didnt gain much sound when i added this to my midpipe only though - it's same layout/design as oem afterall), smooth quality welds inside and out, and looks even better

    Following this trend, I thought I'd try a china stainless exhaust off E-bay.

    Picked up a catback for about $700, and a midpipe for $260 (after a couple of bids) plus about $100 delivery all up. Honestly, at that price I really couldn't refuse.

    Seems good so far!

    How much did you pay for the car?

    Beautiful car, impressive stock power too!

    And yes please tell us how much you paid!

    $105k + on roads.

    I got a midpipe a few months ago which is great,and just instaled a cobb 006,you will like this for power but most of all the tcm transforms the 09 tranny!

    Anyway enjoy your car,its nice to see another perth boy with a r35.

    Yup, am looking forward to the COBB installation. The transmission had it's software 'updated' by Magic Nissan here in Perth, and they apparently put all the 2012 settings into it (without LC5).

    I still think there are improvements to be had though.

    I'll look into the turbo's in a lot more detail as the time comes. I won't be going to that stage for probably a year or so anyway, so it gives me plenty of time to research.

    I forgot to add, I'll need dump-pipes as well, which are already bought.

    As of last weekend, this is my new 'daily'. I previously owned a ~620rwhp R33 GT-R with a T04Z, built motor etc etc. That was a great car, but by the time I worked out how much I had spent on it, and what I still wanted to do with it, it was actually cheaper to just bite the bullet and by the R35.

    Specs are:

    2009 Nissan R35 GT-R

    Dark Metal Grey

    32,000kms

    There are quite a few mods in the pipeline, and I have already fitted a full exhaust system (Midpipe and Catback) and 15mm spacers on the front, with 20mm spacers on the rear.

    I have a few goals for the car:

    Goals: (will tick them off as they get completed)

    - 10.5* or less 1/4 mile pass

    - 54.* or less Wanneroo Short-track time

    - 550hp at the wheels

    The idea behind this car is to be able to achieve my goals for under $10,000. As such, the planned upgrades are as follows:

    I've owned the car for almost 2 weeks now, so it's definitely time for mods. Here's the latest:

    Dyno'd it completely 100% stock to get a good baseline figure. It made 415awhp at only 11psi.... not a bad base to work with!!

    Right after that, we fit the new Empire Performance exhaust and mid-pipe. The weight saving in this is HUGE. I'm guessing the new midpipe is about 15kg's lighter, but I'll weigh the old one shortly.
