thanks mate you gave me a good idea.
betcha that took a while to trace, sounds time consuming..
but nice overall effect, i love it.
About 11-12 hours
and yea the tracing took a lot of time, ya gotta take a number of breaks in throughout not only cos your eyes start playin tricks but the pen tends to leave a good imprint in your fingers <_<
<<has too much spare time

wow mick, that looks nice
how did u make the first two wallpapers?
did u vectorise it? add colours?
i know my photoshop stuff, but i want to learn your technique
Hey how is ya, I do all my stuff with adobe photo shop - with the car pics i got a photo and added a layer and then traced it with a pen and tablet (they cost around $130) then with the colours and back ground keep adding more layers. Keep the out line as the top layer.
eg. For Kezza's car
layer1: Background
layer2: The figure in the background
layer3: Colour of the car
layer4: Wheels
layer5: Stickers
Layer6: windows
layer7: The shine and reflections on the car
layer8: The outlines of the car
Hope this gives ya a better idea
With the straight lines you can use the airbrush click once where you want the line to begin and then hold the shift key and click where you want the line to end or go.

Ok, hows this?

so hard..
Once you start getting the hang of it (a fair bit of trial and error is involved) it becomes easier.
You have to keep at it too, you cant just spend 5 minutes choppin a pic and then say 'ahh that looks like crap' and then scrap it, it does take time

*Snatches pic ^^^

The "Clone Stamp" is a very handy tool for editing photo's, especially if you want to remove something from the picture. Basically if you want to hide something in the picture, you use the clone stamp to copy another part of the picture into that spot, this makes it look a lot more realistic that using the airbrush or paintbrush to edit photos

You think black is hard? try white!
I still think black is the hardest to change, this is a pretty quick and easy job, i tried to get like a blue pearl with the orange, you can just see it. I like Kezza's one better tho

Can you find a pic of those rims with a bit more angle or a pic of the 32 with a bit less angle? cos they are gonna look a bit botched other wise. Nice 32 by the way, who's is it?
