  1. hey everyone,

im new to skylines australia but hav had me 33gtst series 1 for a good few years (sori if this looks dodge as im not sure how to use forums) but lately ive had the problem of the car just losing power and stalling for no reason, no throttle response during its dummy spit, sometimes if im lucky i can get the power back but not always!!!!

i have replaced the fuel filter recently but hav replaced 6 months ago the coilpacks, nismo intank fuel pump, spark plugs. hav checked for vacuum leaks when i did a forward facing plenum so all hoses were replaced, plus if it was a leak itd run like crap at idle, hav also put through injector cleaner and hav tried different 98 octane brands incase of dirty fuel! stil hav no idea, (thinking air flow meter now) but if anyone can help or has had this problem can u please help????

i had this happen to my r33,was afm changed to a new one and everything was fine.

  2. your running stock everything basically, why spend money on an emanage when you could use any old manual bleed valve to do the same thing... geez your only gonna run 12psi max and even then your still runnin stock ecu...

listen to GTST & bubba... lots of others on this forum will tell you the same... the ones that don't simply don't have experience or have been misinformed...

200rwkw should be almost achievable if you get zorst air intake a PFC and get a good tune, and take care of you vehicle...

i have a full exhaust bar a dump pipe k&n fillter arc intercooler, what i was saying after i install my boost controller which i allredy have then the emange, after a tune, what would be next.(f@$k i hate people who can't read)

  3. deffinately attending, powercruise last year was so wicked seeing such quick cars all at once unleash down the main straight of eastern creek

and the power skids the cars do back up the main straight is sweet 2 watch also, last year i remeber the yellow s15 go nuts down it

and the lil datto ute killed it too

should be better this year,a few of my mates r going down with over 500hp,i cant wait first time my car has seen the track

  4. So much hearsay and conjecture. IMO don't upgrade until you max it out.

For instance, my RB30 instantly maxxed out the RB20 afm and constantly ran in R&R as soon as it saw any boost with more than 10% throttle or over 3000rpm. Maxxed out at 183rwkw.. also, the exhaust side of the 25 turbo maxxed out (can't physically flow the exhaust gasses coming out of the 30). Have since had the stock ecu remapped along with 550cc injectors and a z32 afm installed.. still have to live with the turbo falling over about 5800rpm till after xmas ;)

Do the upgrades slowly, as and when you need them - this will also help if you come across any issues (too many changes at once makes it harder to diagnose problems).

The only thing I suggest going full hog on straight away is, if you know you're going to end up with a bigass turbo, bigger injectors, afm etc down the track, then don't waste money on a simple piggy back to start with. Just get a full ecu and go from there.

If i changed the ecu to say a powerfc would the car still run with the right emissions?

  5. this would be my path i would take if you plan to have 200rwkw.

aftermarket ecu. Power fc are one of the most reputable ecus around.

some people have made it to 200rwkw on the standard turbo, but with being a bush bearing with ceramic wheel i wouldn't risk it.

limit on the standard turbo is about 12psi.

Also i would consider updating your injectors as they will get close to running on max duty cycle and also your air flow metre

Turbo- pretty much the best option and to retain standard manifold and not resorting to an externally wastegated turbo would be a GCG highflow turbo being ball bearing and having steel wheels, you can push the boost up to a greater limit then ya standard turbo and will easily hit 200rwkw.

GCG highflows are capable of seeing 260rwkw.

So my opinion if i was in your shoes i would look into

    ECU

    Split dump - less restriction

    injectors

    AFM

    Highflow turbo

And then possibly blow off valve for better control and no leak.

there you will have 200rwkw and also and then some if you wanted.

sweet, cheers mate that helps me out so much!could i get away with using the neo safc instead on the ecu?

  6. post-40676-1196756622_thumb.jpg

see what i mean man, if u compare your graph to mine, s1.5 r33t, with fmic and exhaust.

    U ARE DOING PRETTY WELL!!!

*P.S just to add a tag on here man. i have adjusted my fuel prs, now it runs crazily rich and on 8psi. so could i run 12-14psi well?, i used to hit a brick wall/flat spot at 12psi

is that with the standard ecu?if it is how come it dips like that mate?

  7. thats abit scary... whos your tuner?

you'll notice an increase if you bump up the boost, and its probably the best bang for your buck mod you can do. Although thats not going to help with your afr, the ecu is already running rich and its going to continue overcompensating fuel, ie running rich. The only thing to help you with that is a piggyback like a safc, or a new ecu like powerfc.

it's not my tuner it was just the guy at carline, which safc would u recomend?

  8. yeah, the hand controller tends to be more of a visual aid then anything. Most tuners just plug in a laptop to tune the powerfc than use the handcontroller. Personally i would spend the extra 200 on the controller, but thats just me cause i like to fiddle with things haha.

the tuner said it's running rich and a few more psi would help that alot,i have a manual boost controller here would it be worth putting that on?
