  2. G'day, I'm with Just Car for my Full Comprehensive Insurance (1998 R34 GT-T) but now I'm doing some homework & looking at other potential options. Below is the details I received from Just Car for my annual insurance renewal / anniversary as well as the details after a follow up call to them re adding my recent car mods to the policy...

    My Age: >25

Car setup on original insurance policy: Mag wheels $1,500 & stereo head unit $100

    • Annual Premium: $931.92 ($77.66 / month)
    • Excess: $600 (Standard & not 100% sure if any other excess applies like theft or special vehicle as per Brandon's post above)
    • Any extra perks: none not even a reach around...
    • Agreed Value: $13,800

Car setup on current insurance policy: Mag wheels $1,500, stereo system $2,800 & CES exhaust $2,100

    • Annual Premium: $1,096.92 ($91.41 / month)
    • Excess: $600 (Standard & not 100% sure if any other excess applies like theft or special vehicle as per Brandon's post above)
    • Any extra perks: still no reach around...
    • Agreed Value: $15,270

I would luv to hear what other viable options exist in today's current market place & if any1 has any feed back regarding my policies above, cheers fellas

  3. Both the flatmate & I purchased one each for $195.

The main reason we bought them is due to our addiction to online drifting with GT5, however, we''ve found the G27 isn't very user friendly when it comes to the drifting aspect of the game but instead more towards the racing aspect. It may be due to the configuration/setup we're using but so far I'm regreting I ever made the purchase as I'm not a huge ps3 gamer & probably won't use the G27 once my GT5 phase wears out.

so if anyone knows a good drifting config/setup for GT5 with the G27... please post it!!!

  4. Hi Ivan

Made a couple of sets of wing plates so have them in stock if you still require other wise no problems

    regards

    Chris

Unfortunately I do believe he sold his R33 late last year, however, he did seem mighty keen to get his hands on another one down the track.

I'm keen to attend the monthly meets... hopefully we can round up a few more fellow liners tho

  5. a 10 or 12 will shake the car to death , there isnt much difference in most cases. I prefer a 10" they hit faster and smoother in the right box but the market here prefers the 12"

if done right you can hide a 10 easy in the boot with good sound , dont overlook thin models either.

Thanks for the advice Troy since I'm a novice when it comes to this stuff. Once I've saved up my pennies (beginning of the new year if not before... c'mon last 2yrs tax retuns!) I'll be posting up the possible setups I'm looking at spending it all on.

Hopefully guys like yourself can give me some feedback on it all.

  6. If i put bit of pressure on the boot and ignore the number plate the bass sounds really really clean, thats what i want.

Have you heard the difference after dynamat was installed? Is it worth it?

Ishan what size sub have you got installed? I'm currently looking at an audio setup for my R34 GTT but I wasn't 100% sure if I should go 10" or 12", however, I am leaning more towards the 10" as I'm after good quality sound without blasting the shit out of fellow commuters.

I've installed Dynamat in both my old R32 & now my R34 & I can honestly say it's worth every penny just make sure it's installed correctly... good prep & really sore thumbs. Next time I'm definitely gonna invest in a roller!

  7. My issue is more of a squeak when I go over anything steep, maybe just a buggered bush or something simple hopefully. I would say a thud or knock would be something more serious.

off-topic slightly - how much did the 100k service set you back??

Approx. $2,100 but I had other things done on top of the standard 100K service such as split fire coil packs installed, gearbox & diff oil replaced, all belts replaced & complete fluid flush etc

so far I'm very happy with the work carried out by ERD & also the friendly & helpful service of Kudos Motorsports. Both parties I personally highly recommend from my own experience.

  8. Is It a thud noise like you have something rolling around I the boot?

Mine sounds like that on the odd occassion. I just had my R34 100k service done by ERD in Yatala & Dan (the mechanic) mentioned he'd noticed my rear passenger suspension/shock absorber is leaking. Here I was thinking sweet I've got the mechanics sorted out now I can save my pennies for a decent audio system... guess again!

ps. off the top of his head he quoted me $250 per side (standard replacement) plus labour.

  9. Hey Ezy I'm in the same boat as you mate & trying to find a reliable Skyline ideally around Brisvegas & Gold Coast areas (R34 GT-T) but unfortunately I'm not mechanically minded. After doin some research through this forum I came across a really good post (see below) in which some ppl have suggested using State Roads for inspections. I personally have never used them but when I find my potential new joy ride I probably will.

Here is an example of their comprehensive vehicle inspection test ----> http://www.stateroads.com.au/comp_report.asp

Fyi, I was priced approx. $250 - $300 for this test (psst... I checked with NSW & VIC centres first & was quoted their prices which for some reason is cheaper then what the QLD centre quoted me :yucky: so after mentioning this they said they will match NSW & VIC prices :bunny: ). Also, if the vehicle isn't located close to major cities you may need to pay a travel fee so be sure to check with them if this is applicable.

Great post with info about what to look out for when purchasing a Skyline ----> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/35129-im-buying-a-skyline-what-should-i-look-for/

    Best of luck
