  1. I've just received a second speeding ticket in a matter of days for getting caught in the same spot twice, and I fear a third will be on the way.

Quite simply I didn't see the camera till I drove past there at night and caught the flash (this one I haven't received yet). The camera was on the highway about 50 meters before a 90kph sign, and I've been caught both times at around 87-88ks (its an 80 zone before the sign).

Is there anyway I can contest this? I don't mind copping one fine, but all 3? Being on my P's that's more than half my points! Could I claim that I didn't realise that section was still 80 (I honestly thought speeding up when you saw the next sign was legal), and that the following two fines are unfair as I didn't receive my first fine before getting clocked for the following two?

    Thanks for any input.

i dunno where but i think i read somewhere that there's like a code of conduct or something in relation to speed cameras, i think it mentions stuff like distance to speed limit changes and that if you get done more than once on the same stretch of road you only have to cop the first fine, for example if your speeding on the western ring road from start to end and you go through all of the cameras you only have to wear the first one, i think it also said something about going through the same camera multiple times that you only have to pay the first time, for example if you've gone through it a couple of times before you get the first fine. i'm not totaly sure on it but it might pay to google it or something...

  2. Seriously isn't catching the airport shuttle or even a taxi cheaper than paying for long-term parking?

Nup, cabs about 60 for me, so it's about a 120 round trip... Airport shuttle leaves from the city I think, so I still have to get into the city which is about the same, maybe more...

  3. If I go for a short interstate trip I park in the Business Park at the airport, it's up near the McDonalds right out the front of the Qantas terminal, there are always really nice cars in there and its all pretty much business people.

It is a bit more expensive but worth it, it also is good because you use your own credit card as the parking ticket. You swipe your credit card to get in the gate and then you can only get out with your Credit Card.

    that sounds pretty cool...

  4. kick them in the nuts!

my mates brother's GTR was stolen from Tulla airport, taken for a hoon and found burnt out!

and also alot of stolen cars get dumped there. long term parking.

Lol, yeah, I'd never park at the actual airport carpark, Andrews is one of the private ones in tullamarine, the ones with a shuttle service...

  5. my shop is down the road from all those airport parking places and i could tell you some horror stories thats for sur....and one where the owners were not told anything at all aswell

I'm sure they do stuff like that all the time without the owner knowing, and as long as it's fixed properly I wouldn't have a problem with it, in fact I probably wouldn't even know. The damage isn't that much of an issue for me, I mean I'd never leave my skyline there, but my other car ain't anything special anymore, it's the inconnvenience and poor treatment I'm pissed with...

  6. Id have thought it fairly obvious that the dude working at 11.30 at night wouldnt be able to help you with anything as he'd just be an employee.

So have you complained to a manager about the damage?? Outcome??

    Im just curious to know.....

The guy I spoke to was the duty manager and he rang his bos and was told to deal with it and don't call back till the morning... They rang earlier and after there investigation have found the mirror was intact when I got there... Der... And they are gonna fix it, but that ain't the issue I've got, the issue is I parked there so I wouldn't have to worry about catching cabs or expect my mates to pick me up all the time and then when they stuff up, I, the customer am pretty much told " too bad, you'll just have to make your own way home at your own expense"

  7. just a heads up to anyone parking their precious at the airport, i just got back from 2 days in s.a. and parked at andrews airport parking at tullamarine... only to get back and find the glass in my passenger mirror gone and the mirror all fubared and after refusing to drive the car home in the state in which they had delivered it to me was told to catch a cab home at my expense... which for me is about a 60 dollar fare... lucky it wasnt my 33... i understand that shit happens and it could happen anywhere and to anyone, but to be told i'll have to find my own way home was abit rude, especially at 1130 on a weeknight when people dont like being called out of the blue cos they gotta work in the a.m....

  8. nearly EVERY friday night, they set up a booze bus, or have a few patrol cars and set up a breatho station in melton on high street, and its the TMU that run it, all officers from deer park all the way through to bacchus marsh, and the idiot that rolled out bullshit to me was from caroline springs.

it was like june/july this year

they set it up deeper into caroline springs now, haven't seen it near the bp for ages...

  9. I've only had a bad expernice through booze buses, when they say "ok you can go now" then another cops like "hang on a second mate" then checks my car out from top too bottom, but thats mostly caroline springs tmu

Melton highway patrol know what they're on about and they're friendly towards me....

my experience was similar, got bretho'd and was about to go when the "female" officer pulled me up and got me for not having a current rego sticker displayed, i had it in the car, was just a tad lazy in putting it up... i had no issue with copping for that i mean i did the crime and all that, but this biatch was sooo rude. i've been pulled over abit, mainly when i was younger and i've always found if ya dont give attitude you dont get attitude and even on the times where i've been booked for something the officers have been quite pleasent about it, but not her... lol, and it was just a $50 fine...

you know, it might have even been before caroline springs cop shop was opened, or when it was 9-5... is it still only open till 5? cos theres no crime in caroline springs after normal business hours... the booze bus was on c.s. boulevard near the bp... and it was definately a melton tmu officer...

  11. Yeah the silver commodore is from melton, ALWAYS see it around. When my mates neighbour complained about people doing burnouts in his court, that silver commodore turned up.

I reckon melton cops are alright, they're pretty stupid when it comes to JDM cars.... when i got pulled over i got told i couldnt drive my 34 coz it was a 25gt (lol) although another highway patrol pulled me over and said nothing... I reckon caroline springs cops are worse

I just typed a whole thing about my experience with melton tmu and kinda lost it all lol, so, in short my experience with them has been somewhat less than pleasant lol
