  2. RARE Bayside Blue R34 Gt-t. This is a 2000 Series 2, the very last of the R34's ever made. Ive had this car for around 8yrs, 2nd owner since its arrival from Japan with a very low 81,000kms. I selected this car at the time for its rare colour & great body condition as i was turning it into a car for the Autosalon. With a long list of mods both power & cosmetic, my R34's spent most of the last 5 yrs in my garage under a car cover, rarely taken out as my passion had turn to motorbikes over that period. It hasnt seen a drop of rain in over 5yrs!!. Still in perfect running condition, serviced every 6mths using Mobil 1 5w-50 Full Synthetic & runs on BP Ultimate as that was what it was tuned on. Ive been reluctant to let it go for years due to the time, money & effort spent on it but now need the garage space.

With a long list of mods in & out, all with genuine Japanese parts, it has been tuned & dyno'ed at 260Hp at the wheels by Mick @ Ovaboost. Ive since turned the boost down to 12psi on the Power FC to prolong turbo life.

    Power Mods:

    Blitz NUR cat-back exhaust
    Catco high flow cat
    Split dump/front pipe heat wrapped

  4. Man check out the forsale thread i have up for it it's a bit more informative than the carsales one, mainly because theres alot of scrubs on carsales.

I get ~460L/100kms, and are you sure thats right about your Vectra?! that sounds messed up:P

I'll more than likely be doing a compression test on it in the next couple weeks, mainly for my own benefit but i'll share the results np.

460L/100kms :/ Yikes.... how bigs ur tank.. lol.

  5. i so need a detector...

what brand you guys using? Is it external one ? or built in one?

I wouldnt mind getting one built into the dash... much nicer and cleaner then a detector on the window.

Btw ive seen the one on the tripod..

thats for lazy police who want to sit in their car and wait for someone to speed, rather then standing outside and pointing the gun..

they do that alot on centaury (spelling) rd near curtin uni.

They r well worth the $$. I invested in one of the best ones out there, cost an arm & a leg but its just about paid for itself over the time ive had it.

Sumtimes ur jus not paying attention to the speed ur doin & thats when the cameras seem to appear. Saved me twice in a row the other weekend, i was running late, got lasered on Beaufort St. & 1km down the road a multinova appeared, good thing i had my trusty V1 detector ready. I got mine off this guy http://www.delonixradar.com.au/ He distributes them & according to his tests, the Valentine 1 is the best for detection. Look on the YouTube links, he's done a test with several radar detectors sittin on his dash & the V1 gives u the most warning on all bands i think. Well it was when i bought mine couple of yrs ago.

  6. it is infact a ADR requirement not only for the temperature to be lower than 6000K but for there to be washers and autolevelling projectors. Its because of the washers and the autolevelling unit that makes aftermarket HID installs illegal. If for example you have a lexus IS200 which comes with washers and autolevelling projectors, its legal to put an aftermarket HID unit into the car. For a skyline, this is illegal. I can find the ADR thing that says so if you need me to.

So wot r the legalities when it comes to using halogen `white light' globes? They r not aftermarket HID kits, simply a replacement globe but the globes produce a white light. Also in the link i attached earlier(also below), the seller states that 4000K is ADR51 approved. He is also selling one that is 4300K & he states that those r NOT ADR51 approved for road use.

    4000K globe -

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Philips-H1-12v-Blue...A1%7C240%3A1318

    4300K globe -

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/philips-CrystalVisi...A1%7C240%3A1318

  7. those globes you are wanting are around what 50bucks?

For 50 more you can pick up a hid kit of ebay.

They will be good enough for now and certainly brighter then just the bulbs.

Later when you got extra cash you can always upgrade the hid to a branded one... and sell off ur ebay ones for say 50 bucks. So i would defiantly go down that route.

Got a link? There seems to be quite a few on ebay & im not too sure which ones r good. And as mentioned above they r piss easy to install hey??

  8. dont just replace the bulb. its pointless. my friend just put white globes in her 34 and they look after market and all and bright but arent. eg. driving on tonkin between great eastern and leech hw we were side by side and playfully i turned my headlights off and the whole road was pitch black. her white globes just lit afew meters infront was was just a epic failure. funny seeing her reaction tho lol

Cant quite afford the HID kit atm, tough economic times. So u reckon id be better off jus sticking to normal halogens than the white globes?

Coz ive seen a set of these globes on a S14 & they look pretty bright, not sure wot temp rating they were, the higher the rating the whiter the globe. Im guessing the ones i saw is round the 4000-5000K

  9. That's awesome. Would love to pull up somewhere and drop the door in front of people. It moves pretty damn quick both up and down, I'm impressed! But is it just me, or does that video look quite dated? All the clothing and hair and even the actual quality of the video look 10 years old?

Hmmm... sum of the fashion does seem abit old & the coke can the used in the commercial looks like an old can too or do they just have different cans in the US? The video does say Copyright 2007 at the end tho.

Nonetheless its an impressive idea & would certainly eliminate parking lot door dings if we all had em. God, im still pissed about the ding i got frm a few mths ago from sum careless idiot...

  10. true, thanx

i have heard tho that rain seeps down and into the actual car if u remove the weathershield, is this true or not? after hearing a couple stories i might nt take it off and ill just tint it black so it goes kinda better with the car than this crappy brownish colour...lol

Nuh no issues with rain seeping in. The weather shield is not factory std so rain shouldnt be seeping in. Who drives with their window down when its rainin anyway? lol...

  11. I am wanting to take the weathershield off dat is on both the passengers window and drivers windowaround the top you kno wat i mean =P, bt anyway i WAS going to do it today bt had a look around it and it seems az if i did take it off there would be a gap where the weathershield was. Sorry if its a bit of a noobish question bt after all i still am a noob :) , so yeah basically has any1 taken theirs of b4? if so how? would be thankful heaps :teehee:

    cheers in advance :)

    Alex

Just rip it off. Its glued on with a pretty strong double sided tape. There r a couple of clips along the way so just watch out for them. Hard part was getting the remaining glue off. I used a plastic scraper(one i used to do sum plastering of the wall with) u can get em cheap from Bunnings. Also had to use sum `Goo off' or similar glue disolving product(also from Bunnings) to remove the reamining glue.

Only thing is the Goo Off left the rubber seal around the door a lil on the matt side. The ones around the quarter window is a gloss black n the one around my door is now a matt black. I think the Goo off kinda dissolve the surface of the rubber a lil. Car looks way better without the shields but up close the rubber seal doesn't look as appealing but its a minor cosmetic thing, depends how fussy u r with ur car.
