  1. If its the car I'm thinking (and everyone else) of. Bayside blue with a kit, wheels and is parked on a street outside a house or something. If thats the one its been hanging around for AGES now. Seen it a few times on and off at Prestige and J-Spec. Looks great and contemplated it my self. But its a huge risk. Technically it CAN'T be complied as it was never available as a manual (despite the series 2 or the 260RS having the option). But the only way I would do it is if I PERSONALLY knew the workshop doing the compliance. Not go by a spoken guarantee of the broker (not saying anything bad about either of the brokers I've mentioned at all either as I've heard a lot of good reports about both) BUT if they knock it back you'll be up for a lot of money. Put simply by the time it was completed (if or when that is, depends how deep your pockets are) you'd of come away cheaper importing a good example 260RS and then still could of spent money on it here in Aus. If you still don't understand where i'm coming from ask the Guys on here that have done the conversion, parts labour etc (although the Auto gear would be cheaper but harder to obtain) then double it as your basically converting the converting back. Just not worth it. Series 2 manuals are becomming cheaper now (espically since the M35 is now available), but are still a little harder to find. It would be worth the wait though, and a newer model too.

Still its up to you, but I'd say this is the reason the car has been hanging around for so long now.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense man - as hard as it is to listen to, i was really set on this one... >_<

  2. yeah i cant really see myself spending over sorta $16k for the car alone... thats why this was good, ill be paying about $1800 for insurance and also stamp duty is gonna take the price beyond what im happy to pay really...

im almost at the point of getting a VT wagon with a kit and boosting it, but i dont really like the look of them... i just dont want a slow crap wagon when ill be driving 4 people and a drum kit around most weekends. (yes i tested it will fit in a stag.)

so importing in general is good, but conversions are something to stay away from?

there is a nice white one on the site that i would be happy with, just its more expensive

what do you think of this (he said the stone chips will pass roadworthy)

again, after 2 minutes on the phone to the bank he was trying to give me a 15k loan, so i dont have a problem there... i just wanna get the right car... and i have a few grand banked already for unforseen hiccupps.

  3. the difference is, if anyone knows what was done to it in Japan.

If you can find a compliance shop with 0 experience, they will probably comply it without even knowing that anything is amiss.

Well, thats what happened with mine.

who was yours? i suppose if the last conversion they did went through with no problems then this 1 should be ok??

does anyone else know of vacc equivalent checks that can be done in japan?

  4. mmm having searched the sites for the last 2 years when looking for mine and after i got mine just to see whats out there im posative that car was on jpec a few months bac then vanished which i thaught to be sold.makes me curious as to why its re apeared.

ive seen a few this colour and similar kit so im not sure if i have seen it before...

but i cant really see any others i want as bad... ill probly have to settle for one thats already here if importing isnt any good

  5. yeah they said that to me, but in the email i was told that they had a friend do the same thing and they said it was fine, that the workshop they used didnt have a problem complying it with the manual conversion.

yeah its the blue one im pretty sure you know which one it is, even if it was auto i would buy it lol

  6. hey, i just found the most awesome stag i have seen (not including autech lol)

and did a search and nothing came up :-(

i just rang the bank and got loan approval, i just want to know a little about importing...

im doing it through a company so they are taking care of it all

but has anyone imported a manual conversion stagea? i heard the modification is easy and stable... i wont be boosting it or anything...

  7. Hey,

Im trying to save the trouble of importing...

Im after a Series 2 Stagea - Prefer a flat colour, not metallic.

Hoping to get one with an exhaust, lowered, possibly rims, and a kit (the rear wing at the top is cool too)

The main ones i can find are either series one, or an overpriced series 2 from a car yard.

Heres pretty much what im after, but im gonna import this if i cant find one soon.

  8. This sort of shit really makes you wish a good old fashioned bashing could be gotten away with.

yeah i almost got in trouble for that, caught two losers trying to steal my number plates, gave them the absolute biggest owning of their lives, had a call from a cop, explained the situation, he said i wasnt in trouble but next time to call them first... and then do the same thing...

next time i catch someone im taking their address down off their I.D so i know where they live.

  9. hey, i wanna check how big the boot is in a stag... at the moment i fit my full kit in the back of a dual cab rodeo with an LPG tank in there so im guessing they are about the same...

i cant test drive one for a few weeks therefore cant measure it myself and there are none in bendigo to look at so i have to go to melb...

so can someone please do me a huge favour (i cant find it on google or search) and like measure the boot.

like from side to side how wide... how long it is from the seats to the rear hatch... how wide it is when the rear wheel arch kicks in and how far they are to the rear?

if not then i understand!! but if you can ill love you.

  10. okay im shit at maths so can someone do it for me?

1685kms trip (vic to qld) at an average of 90kms in a series 2 4 speed...

what kind of petrol consumption would this take? im pricing up delivery vs a cheap plane ticket and driving the car back...
