  1. When we had a E46 328Ci it was quite an impressive car. When that was followed a few yrs later by the 330Ci we knew we weren't going to be disappointed - especially when it was only the next model down from the M3.

Yeah it's a dynamite car, 6 figures when it was new. Sad to see it go, but it's surplus to requirement!

Price drop again guys and girls, has to go!

    $11,250

  2. Hi all,

Our 2000, 330ci is up for sale, has been in the family since pretty much brand new, my father in law bought it with dealer km's on it, and has used it for many years as a highway car, travelling up and back along the Princes hwy through Gippsland for his business. We've had it for around 3 years, and it's been brilliant for us in that time. Has rarely seen city kms, and always garaged.

Selling due to expanding family, be sad to see it go, but the missus needs a bigger car, and I have a work chariot.

Always been serviced, and well looked after. Had a mechanic go through it very recently, and all it will need for RWC is a new windscreen, which we can sort out (hate to change it over now, and Murphy's law says it'll cop a crack just before sale....).

    $16K

Just ticked over 200,000kms (vast majority hwy)

    Auto

    Grey leather

    Sunroof

    All electrics in working order

Two new tyres, and others are 90%+

Call (0418 326 035), text, PM, email ([email protected]) all fine. Car is in Mornington area!

  3. If I thought my cas wasn't working, for example, pulled it off, turned it by hand and got no spark or clicks from the injectors, how would I check?

I have tried another cas for same result. It may also be shagged.

Could I connect the power feed to the cas to either the 1

or 120 degree line and see a spark or injector pulse?

  4. Update:

There's power at all the coil packs (just over 10 volt each). There's power at the relays at the ecu when ignition is off (12v) but its still there when the ignition is on, so obv relays aren't actuating, and we have a problem.

Unsure if related, but fuel pump is not coming on with ignition either.

Assume there is a failure in power supply somewhere?

Also, unrelated I think, found that the earth cable to the battery was busted, now fixed.

Ecu and coils/ ign are earthed.

Pulled cas off, locating pin is there, connected the plug and spun with my fingers and got nothing from the injectors. Tried with a second cas for same result. Assume this is also a problem from relays not locking in.

  5. Thanks for the replies lads, gives me somewhere to start, would be amazing if it's just those two plugs in the wrong spot. I'll get in and have a crack after work and see where it leads!

Rolls, the wiring was done by a company who do heaps of conversions, this was the first one of this kind, so fingers crossed it hasn't gone tits up there. As said, was previously running as is, so hopefully not!

  6. Hey guys, in short, I've had my engine rebuilt, and after reinstalling, can't get it to fire, not even a cough. There's fuel, deffo got compression, but no spark.

Specifics: it's an r33 rb26, in a vl. Wiring was professionally done, and before the rebuild it was all good. Stock computer, no big injectors or anything.

Rebuild was done by a mate, who's done a few race engines, but his first rb26. I have no doubt he's done right. Basic mild rebuild, pistons, rods etc. turbos have been hi flowed, steel wheeled etc. (mate is 500km away, so not keen to trailer there to look over it)

Took it to a local mechanic (country vic) who put it down to an intermittent fault and wouldn't go any further.

Everything I've done on a budget, and after returning from os, haven't got cash to splash around, missus is preggers, so just taking it to an auto elec with an open cheque book is the last thing I'll do.

Any suggestions on where to start, cas, afm? Is there something incredibly stupid that I'm missing?

    Any suggestions gratefully accepted!!

  7. Congrats Mark Webber. Big win, especially after the drive through.

On another note, did anyone see Barrichello's outburst after the race. No doubt Brawn is probably favouring Button, but that was pretty unprofessional. I don't think we'll see him at Brawn next year...

  8. Hey guys, just had an engine rebuilt and had a few items go missing.

I'm looking for the air intake temp sensor that screws into the front of the intake manifold.

Also the bracket that holds the accel cable onto the manifold.

And lastly the allen key bolts that hold the centre section between the cams down.

    Cheers, Ben

  9. Ok, just thought id post a little bit of an update.

Engine is sitting in a dummy vl at the moment to see what sort of work needs to be done to make it fit 100% (my wagon is at the pannel shop still). Apart from needing to bash the shit out of the firewall to get the engine in, it was ok (might do a cut and shut on my wagon for cosmetic side to it).

Looks like ill need to get a custom throttle cable made. The brake booster and master cylinder is right beside where you hook it up, causing some minor issues but we will get around that.

Sump is done. We modified the RB30 sump to fit. Cut into the windige tray so the pick up would fit, and modified the edging to allow for the pickup etc.

The next issue is the airbox. Due to the tight spacing we are looking into how we are going to make an airbox that will support the 2 AFM's and piping to suit. Im thinking that pod filters may be an option, but it isnt the way i wanted to go. If i end up doing that, ill get rid of the battery and smooth the bay, but once again.. thats what everyone does.

Im guessing the RB25 power steering pump goes onto the 26 block ok? Because the 26 pump is a dual one, im looking into the next option, this seems to be my last resort.

Other than having to move the power steer lines around, this is all the little annoying things out of the way (hopefully). Ill keep updating this thread with progress if anyone is interested.

    Cheers guys,

    Matt

Hey man, couple of things, I didn't have to change anything on the firewall, not sure why you had to bash yours around.

Throttle cable needs to be shortned, but as for position, if you just angle it upwards a little it'll be fine, it just kinda pokes up over the master cylinder.

I put the battery in the boot, and am running twin pods as well, but am keen to have an airbox made up for it. Eventually we'll try pull something with a cold air intake using the walky scoop.

I think a 25 P/S pump should go on, I used a 30 one, there's a couple of different ones from the 30's, and a couple of different brackets as well. If you know a wrecker who you can pop in a go through a few combos you'll find something. I can't remember exactley what combo I used.

Good luck, get in touch if you have questions.

    Benny
