Ok, don't shoot me for being slack. My cars been off the road since June '06, and I haven't been to anything SAU in ages.
Soooo, I'M IN
-
damn that is bad luck how long do u lose it for?
5 months. I've accumulated 20pts. My fault, won't be so stupid next time ................ scratch that, I'll never learn
-
Only days away from getting the GTR back on the road after 6 months in the garage, and I go and lose my licence on the motorbike
-
pretty sure they're not ball bearing either
in any case, they're too small.
Yeah, I'm fairly sure all the stock turbos for Skylines (exception the N1's maybe) have ceramic turbines not steel ball bearing
-
Love to come.... but car is still off the road, long way to go
-
I've known Richo for a while too, highly recommend him to anyone.
All my work gets done there and will continue to be getting done there.
* punisher - is that your black 33 there rb30/25 ?
Nah mate, Grey 32 GTR, c/f bonnet (reason for defect). Hasn't been running properly for quite a while now, should be back on the road soon though. I've got to give him a call today actually.
-
Another plug for them. My car is there now, hopefully get rid of that fcuking defect notice and be back up and running properly soon

yeah ur plate def needs to be straight not sloped back even having it to the left or rite on the edge of the bumper is no good either thats not visible by cameras aswell...u want to stop getting hassled over it get a slimline one and stick it where it should be in the middle on the top of the bumper.
had mine on the side and got warned once was enuf for me to get a slim line and put it where it is clearly visible in the middle .
How does that work? Evo 6's came out with the number plate mount built into the left side of the front bar, specifically to free up airflow to the intercooler

I have one of the Alcohawk Pro Breathalysers, it is extremely accurate as far as personal breathalysers go. Its actually rated better than the Australian Police ones. It is still only a guide though, any reading won't mean shit if you get pulled up and test over.

Halifax and General will also recalibrate them (recommended every 6 months)

Roll on the Peter Brock 1000 at Bathurst.
-
This one really hurts.
Brocky was the first name I ever knew in any form of motorsport, and an absolute bloody legend.
The legend will live on, but he will be solely missed.

Congrats guys
All the best, and I hope bub gets well soon

I'm keen, however it all depends on getting the defect notice on my car sorted
-
Been pulled over by cops many times, no dramas.
It was a guy from Qld transport that decided to be an arse.
-
ok the reason 3lit3 32 gave was correct (frontal impact test) However the date is wrong....the law was passed in 95 so pre 1994 cars are legal with a cf bonnet but post 95 cars are not.
If that is the case, then they had no right to defect my car
-
keep in mind that these laws were brought in to save lives, a cf bonnet does make your car more dangerous to pedestrians and you and your passengers. and really, its not that much lighter.
Do you have a link to where you got that info? Wouldn't mind having a read

Carbon fibre bonnets are illegal unless fitted to a vehicle prior to (I think) 1992 when ADR 69 came out (Full frontal impact occupancy protection). Any vehicle after that date fitted with a CF bonnet must be engineered. The engineered bonnet must have passed front and side collision test on the exact model of vehicle it is fitted to. Like n15mo said....Custom Carbon and DMD do make legal engineered ones for 32 and 33. They cost around $2000 from memory but you cannot be touched when you own one of these.
Yeah, I had someone else tell me something about that too. Might have to check it out, mine's an '89 GTR.
Terry, I got done on Milton Rd outbound at an RBT check point, they had a few Qld transport guys there checking out all the Jap cars

I've been in Qld for only a few weeks & on Saturday night my car was issued with a defect notice due to having a Carbon Fibre bonnet.
In NSW this has never been an issue, and I was wondering if anyone on here might know whether it is possible to get an Engineers Certificate for these bonnets?
Also if it is possible, who might be able to do it for me?
Seeing as there are so many cars around with Carbon Fibre parts I figured there must be a way around this defect situation.
Can anyone help?
