  1. I have a good price on a set of HKS step 3L springs for HKS step 3 cams. The cams are discontinued so I was wondering what is the maximum and minimum lift you can run with these springs.

    The cam size I was interested in are a 280 duration. The cams will be for a BWs300sx 83-75 turbo. The two companies I was leaning towards is HKS or Jun.

    HKS STEP 2 280 degrees duration, 10.2 mm lift.

    Jun 280 degrees duration, 10.8 mm lift.

    Jun 280 degrees duration, 11.35 mm lift. retainers needed for these cams

  2. Thanks for the responses, I have had both companies email me with good info. ETM said he would use a GT42 for a jig he doesn't have a BW s300sx 83-75 so he couldn't guarantee fit up, which I do understand.

    What are some thoughts about the turbo size and using a GT42 as a jug? I don't want to buy a manifold and have it hit the strut tower so I'm trying to get as many opions as possible.

  3. I'm looking for a twin scroll exhaust manifold for a borg warner s300sx 83-75 and I came across extreme turbo manifolds. Has anybody used them? I want to keep my A/C and the only other company I am interested in is that can do this is 6boost.

    Any thoughts, suggestions or pictures? This is the manifold I'm interested in

  4. Dyno update

    -My innovate wideband needs to be calibrated....when I recorded 11.5 afr it was 10.5

    -I had the gain too high on the boost controller and it crapped itself at 4400

    -I tuned the power fc with my datalogit so it looks like I have some more work to do.

    -the 4" Arc Ti exhaust sounds like an animal!

    -new long block from Nissan

    -td-05-16g's in stock housings

    -stock injectors and afm's

    -trust dp

    -3" stainless decat

    -4" Arc Ti cat back

    -Blitz sbc-id3

    -power fc

    -20% toluene mix for the dyno

    I have new Z32 maf's and 1000cc Rc injectors waiting to go in after I upgrade the turbo's to something else.

  5. .....for a 1990 GTR?I have standard ceramic turbo's that I would like to rebuild.The engine is currently out so I examined them and they have major shaft play.I searched for a while here but couldn't find anything.I live in Canada and whenever you say the word "Skyline" people either scratch their head and say "wwwhhhuut" or they tell you your out of luck.I saw some rebuild kits on ebay for T25 turbo's but I'm not sure if they are correct for me.Could someone point me in the right direction?Thanks

I have my engine out right now and I am fixing all the little gremlins.I found a power steering leak at the Hicas Solenoid.I have the shop manual and there is no "tear down" of the solenoid.The leak is on the left side where the shiney tube connects to the solenoid.Is there an "O" ring in there that is shot?If I unscrew it to replace it ,I am assuming all the power steering fluid will leak out and I will have to bleed the whole system....correct?

  7. Engine/Car:1990 GTR

    Type of failure:

    1 tensioner bearing @110,000KM's

    Factors influencing the failure:

    bearing rusted out and I didn't think anything of the "red dust" on the plug coils.

    State of tune of the engine:

    Mines ECU,splitfire coils,HKS pods,stock boost,new NGK (6) plugs gapped .9mm,trust downpipe,jasma 3",hks bov's.

    Suspension and tyres:

    255/35/18 bridestone Advan SA3's

    Oil used and service interval:

    Motul 300v 10/40 First oil change since I got the car

    General comments:

    I live in Canada and just had the car imported from Japan and only put 1,800 KM's on the engine.The engine started making a rattling noise in the top.Next day it stops running while sitting at a stop light and no more compression.The tensioner bearing no longer exists sooo all the intake valves are bent.The entire bottom end is fine though.I pulled the engine and the head needs a rebuild and the stock turbo's are done as well.It was cheaper for me to buy a factory long block from Japan than it was to rebuild it with some upgraded parts.I have been waiting for almost two months for the engine so hopefully it arrives soon.DSCN0400.jpg
