  1. Agreed guys, it took me 16 years to actually own a GTR after first seeing them and saying "I gotta get one of those!" As far as achievement goes with my cars I would say that winning the first modern regularity event at Mallala in 2003 with my old 32 would rate up there...
  2. Bahahahaha you're a classic Dohmar!! Ok mine is sports.... was in the Australian Archery team a few years back (quite a few!) Still hold a couple of National records for target and field archery.

  14. Hey guys, just got this from a mate.... Top Gear Australia has its first casualty with the resignation of British-born host Charlie Cox. He is to be replaced by Australian musicial James Morrison for the second season. Cox, who co-hosted the show with Steve Pizzati and Warren Brown, says due to his media commitments and business interests in the UK he is unable to commit to a second series. “My time on Top Gear Australia was very special and it was a fantastic opportunity to be part of launching an extraordinary series. Sadly, though, I’ve lived in the UK for the past 19 years and I’m not able to give the time I want to Series Two. It seems best to leave the show and I wish James all the best in joining the two best blokes in Australian television -Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati,” Cox said. Cox is one of three hosts that was forced to endure fan criticism levelled at the Australian version of the British show. His hosting and delivery skills were often part of the numerous barbs from viewers unhappy with the local Top Gear. James Morrison, who appeared as a guest in an episode already, is known as a motoring buff and has previously hosted Behind the Wheel. SBS executive Matt Campbell said, “SBS thanks Charlie Cox for helping to launch and bed down Top Gear Australia. I understand the decision Charlie has made and accept his UK commitments wouldn’t allow him to return in 2009. We now look forward to seeing James Morrison on our screens when the series returns in 2009. James brings with him a deep love of cars, a huge personality and a strong sense of fun - a perfect complement to Warren and Steve.” Awesome!
  15. Thanks for all your input guys, rang Jack Bakers and got some prices today... Think the Adrenalines are going to be a little dear for me, but ventus and Toyo T1R is sorta what I am looking at... Reckon I will see how generous santa is before making the call.... or rather how much he costs me!! Thanks.
  16. Hey guys, tried a search but couldn't get what i was after... so here goes. Need to get some new rubber on my GTR. I am gonna be using it for some street (not my daily car) and some track days. Need to get 265/35/18 size and want something good without breaking the bank... what do you guys recommend or use yourself, and where is best to purchase?? Cheers, Martin.

  20. Gday Folks... page 4 of the paper today shows a mangled 31 from Saturday arvo... anybody know more details? Hopefully nobody from here, but not good to have crashes and skylines mentioned together again!
  21. bump... anybody?
  22. It jacks me when: They stuff up your order at the drive thru and you only find out when you get home! ALSO sh*t : Ignorant people, being unfairly blamed about things beyond your control, People who don't respect other peoples property, when stuff breaks on my car and the repair bill runs into 4 digit sums, working, people who do not listen, most drinks involving white spirits ie tequila, ouzo, vodka, when people vomit in a confined space! Banks/credit unions, exchange rates, Oh, and wasabi!
  23. See post 103, but yeah +1 'nene for SAU ambassador
  24. If they see 25 of the same make/model of any car sitting together(and associated crowd of people) I am sure they would have a nosey...
  25. Good to see some common sense thought and logical ideas coming through here.... Level heads must prevail. Nene, I think you will be a great ambassador for SAU but don't feel its all on you to do everything. I would be available if you want my input here too and will pm you my email addy. I feel that it is definitely worth the shot to build a relationship with the authorities which may develop in time to a point where an SAU sticker is a sign to the police to 'go easy' as the owner is part of a responsible organisation...(obviously not a get out of jail free card - do the crime do the time!) Perhaps those that are most concerned about defects should lay low from SAU cruises until the police agenda/direction is more apparent?
