  1. Hey guys,

I've moved interstate so it's time to let go of my beloved Skyline, I'm the first owner of this car in AU and have all the import papers. Car is manual, done 135000km's and has rego till Sept.

Car has a few minor mods:

    - Bosch 040 fuel pump

    - Trust power extreme 2 turbo back exhaust

    - R34 side mount intercooler

    - Apexi pod filter

    - Alarm/immobiliser

    - 17" Yokohama AVS VS6

I've always serviced the car every 5000kms with fully synthetic oil, it's never been boosted or been on track/skid pan days etc.., just used as a daily driver. There is a scratch on the drivers side rear quarter panel. Looking for $9.5k w/o RWC, car is located in VIC, please only genuine buyers, price is negotiable. Call/txt me on 0431 042 187 if you're interested.

  2. i've got a Bosch 040 installed, don't seem to have this 1/4 problem - works fine.

Anyway, i was under the impression that the 044 is a much larger pump ment to be mounted externally of the fuel tank ? I had abit of trouble getting the bosch 040 onto the stock fuel pump bracket cos it was too fat from memory... not sure if the 044 is fatter?

  3. the old and new plugs are both NGK BKR6EYA, old plugs looked blackish. Running mobil 98 premium, and have upgraded the fuel pump only a few months back to a bosch 040.

Could they be white because i went for a few runs to test out the boost before i gapped them down to 0.8 (they were originally gapped to 1)?

  4. Hi,

I recently put the boost up in my car to ~10psi, and it started misfiring so i pulled out the spark plugs to regapp them to 0.8, the car is running fine now however when i pulled out the plugs, they looked white ? I heard this is a sign the car is running lean.

What are some signs that i can look for? I hear everyone refer to 'pinging' but i don't know what that is?

I took some pics of the plugs before i regapped and put them in:

These are new plugs, been in the car for ~2-3days

  5. If you ever planning on doing more mods, you end up needing a front mount later so you might as well get it done right first time :)

However, if you can get a sidemount for $50, and install it for free, i guess you could always on-sell it when the time comes to upgrade, and then it hasn't really cost you anything?

yea, thats what i was thinking of doing :P

  6. Definitely better to get a front mount. The 34 side mount might just work for light street duties, but if you're out for a decent drive giving it the beans here and there it will heat soak pretty quickly.

My Blitz CS FMIC is still going strong, zero issues.

hey mate, thx for the reply. I read on here the r34 smic's were good for ~200-210rwkw so i thought it would be a cheap alternative to a FMIC since the mods i have wouldnt be near that rwkw figure?

  7. hey guys, sorry for digging up this old thread.

I got bosch 040, 3" turbo back, wanna run 10psi on s2 r33; would a r34 side mount be suitable for this or is it better to get a FMIC ? Did some searching & reading and had some conflicting reports

  8. hey guys thanks for the replies,

i have recently just replaced my spark plugs gapped to 108mm, i sussed out the coil packs and there are no visible hairline cracks etc.. in them.

With the stock boost solenoid, with the exhaust my car runs 7psi <4500rpm, then above 4500rpm it goes to 10psi... and starts to 'misfire' when its on 10psi.

also cleaned the A/F meter, replaced the fuel filter, air filter and reset the ECU.

  9. hey guys,

i recently bought a turbo tech manual boost controller off ebay, and loosened the screw all the way (0.7bar), however when i have the boost controller installed, my car develops a big misfire...

Is there any obvious cause for this?

mods: bosch 040, turboback exhaust, pod

  10. hey mate,

i had a very similar problem to you - it was doing it intermittently so it was a headache to find the problem.. Anyway, the problem was a Pivot "Air Flow" Control gadget, so if you have anything aftermarket that screws around with air/fuel, maybe disconnect those to eliminate them from the equation...
