I've had HKS2530 rebuilt by Rotomaster in Somerton VIC (garret/honeywell distributor).
Was it the bush bearing 2530 or the GT2530 ball bearing unit?

There are several of the TE37 versions that have the inverted spoke appearance.
What I want to know is, say for 17" and 18" wheels, (never mind what brand or style) what is the width and maximum offset usable, which will bring the edge of the wheel closer to the outside of the vehicle but still not cause fouling with the wheel arches.
Very good question, and unfortunately I have to be frank and say no one here knows, have you tried the JDMST crowd or the hella flush guys? as I feel that these types of people who change there rims as often as their underwear will be the ones who only know the answer.
BUT please if you find the information on this I would be greatly appreciative to know as well.

If you go back to the Rays website and look through the different variants of TE37's the photos refer to the actual wheel you are looking at, I found a couple of the TE37SL variants have that look.

According the the web site they only come in a 20" rim size for the ultra track edition and 19" and 20" for the Ultra

The question is more do you want a Stagea?
The VE on paper is better for everything you are looking at; cheaper parts, more modern, better climate control, safer, cheaper to run and likely better resale.
The only pro for the Stagea is that it is a Stagea.
Don't get me wrong, I love mine - and I bought it with the idea of it being the Daily and eventually Family Wagon.
But I also bought it because I wanted a Stagea, if I had only wanted a Family wagon I would go VE in a heart beat.
The rear ducts were an option on the M35 I believe, however its been shown that it can be retrofitted with ease as the ducts just terminate under the center console/arm rest.
The NA model PM35 is a better option for parts as it shares an engine with 350z's and V35's and its upkeep is likely less being naturally aspirated and RWD.
I also imagine you could easily get away with 95 octane in the NA - I wouldn't use anything but 98 in the turbo myself (it can still likely run on 95 though).
I disagree, the service costs and parts availability are cheap and easy to come by. I paid $7,000.00 for my C34 S2 Dayz edition Stagea with 90,000 km on the clock the 100,000 km service cost me just shy of $450.00 for all the parts with a new in cabin air filter.
I find it very interesting the amount of miss information floating around. To fully insure the car is only $500 per year through famous car insurance.
My C34 S2 Days edition is RWD 2.5 Turbo, it uses 8.5L on the highway and betwen 9.5 and 10 around town.
At the end of the day the VE wagon is not a better option, truth be told they are crap, they do not hold there value and are over priced in the market as it is.

Also early Garrett exhaust housings have the same issue as the IHI housings and crack around the wastegate exhaust port. Another thing to keep in mind is that these castings are not always cast the same way and other companies that copy Garrett and IHI exhaust housings do not always use the same metals in the casting nor the right sand for the casting and this leads to a weaker casted product.
