  1. here's some more whilst I have nothing better to do.

some stupid comments from no drainer
ha i'm glad your thread has been left alone by so of the half wits getting around on this forum

FFS.. you really have a problem. And SURE THE MODS HAVE TO CHECK THIS ONE OUT.. wa wa wa wa :gaga: .. sort of ironic.. baby sounds, coming from WA

your asking me how to launch at drags (jesus i only every done one serious race meet seriously)

Your experience really shows, your knowledge is certainly a great benefit to all.. geez I think you could even teach ben from racepace and sydneykid a thing or two..

  2. well done 600hp, good to see some realistic genuine numbers, unlike some dyno queen d...'s who need to grow up and get on with it. Most of us were holding our breaths waiting for merli's result, and I never really found out what hapened after his problems, and was so keen to see the results.. I think he even had some NOS planned aswell.. Anyhow, you must be pretty happy with the result as most were saying the GTSS's would struggle getting over the 300-310mark... That's an impre$$ive list you there... looks like you spent some well earned $$.

as far as response, how early are they coming on boost? I "think" I agree with SK, but he's looses me a bit with his tech talk (probably has something with getting kicked out of school at 15) but why would want to change the plenum.. SK and others have confirmed the GTR plenum is pretty capable of "I think" 800hp or more..

  3. As for the manufacturers warrenty on a race track, who told you that meshmesh? thats interesting i've never heard that. are you talking about the CSL or the normal M3?

CSL and Standard M3's, I got this from the No1. Managers mouth... I just rang him again to confirm, and he says yes they will cover you... he rasied a good point aswell, saying "BMW themselves organise race days, where clients can bring their own M3's down and race, and if anything happens they will still be covered"..

I could be mistaken, and this might only be a "mate rates" package for us, but as far as what I've been told (confirmed only five minutes ago) from BMW themselves.. if I buy an M3 today take it sandown on sunday, blow a diff, I will be covered.

  4. Mmmmmm, E46 M3.

I'll take one over my GTR anyday.

Leewah, the NOS is making you loose your sanity  kidding... they're a very very nice car, infact they are one of the only cars that are covered under manufacturers warranty on a race track and they're a super balanced car.

a stock gtr will still getaway rolling or off the line, I've got a few mates that have them, in SMG, Manual, and a mate that just sold his M3 Convertible SMG, Silver on Red with 19's... out of pick the coupe manual is go, the smg is fun and easy with off the line, with it's launch control, but too many buttons to press, if your put on the spot for a run off the line... the convertible is purely hollywood and goes like a stock WRX, very bottom heavy and ways about 200Kg more. if your over the jap scence then yeh a m3 will do.

Leewah, I know of a carbon black on black coupe, which has had and chip, exhaust and airfilter upgrade, it makes over 300kw, that for sale..

  5. WTF! 100K..  Well I just tried calling powerplay, and just got an answering machine, I left a message to some girl called joanne?, and called the mobile aswell, and left a message there also. If what youre saying is true, then I'll do it the deal now. But if I recall, funkymonkey saying they are no able to be complied into australia?

fatz, :slap: I just a call back from them, 100K... you kidding. it's 330K landed & complied

the process is they first import an stock standard R34 which has been hand picked by nismo, the is complied in AU, then sent back to NISMO for the Ztune mods... it returns to AU as a Ztune...

loophole? probably... but for 330K? they better be stamping the name "Carroll Shelby" somewhere.

  6. why the hell would you want a nur

fork out the extra 100k and call powerplay and get yourself 1 of 20 nizmo z tunes

    mmmmmmm

  7. classic... must be fans of mine.. people actually go out of there way to search up my post history, Daniel, it's all because I disputed a forums members dyno figures, for a stock gtr making 410kw at the rears... only in WA ofcourse.

gatty, dragqueen, pnblight.. etc thanks for the warm interest... but don't worry, I'll soldier on, and I'll be ok! again thanks for the interest.

  8. ELANOR  all the way that car looks horn..

    What would a replica cost?

There was one at a for vs holden show that fullbost had on there website..

hi godzla, The eleanor varies, there's a few mobs in the US making them the 3 main coy's are

    1) the original "cinema vision" kit US$5K just the fibreglass not inc, lights, billet grill, rear light set up.. etc ,

    2) mieri racing ~spelling "probably the best one out there for the refinement, and fitting US$4K just the FB

    3) Rebel which is around the US$2.5 again just the FB. but has been known to be poor quality.

then you've got to buy the wheels: originals are hand made by PS Engineering, or you could go hallibrand replica GT40's, or Edelbrocks 454's. I had spoken to a guy called peter from OZ Wheels in sysdney who hand makes the GT40's to just about any size and offest you want.. and they worked out to ~$600each for 17x10's, 17x9's.

all up a complete kit fibreglass, grill, rear taillight set up, PIAA blue lights, spotties and depening on wheel choice, etc.. would easily be close to US$10K+shipping. Then you can go silly, and get the "go baby go" shift kit with NOS switches... but you still have interior, suspension, engine, etc to do... bla bla bla.

  9. What about a BMW E39 M5. Mod the exhaust so you get the load growl of a Euro quad cam V8 with all the mod cons.

    Neil.

hahah... yeh forgot to add that one to the list... was offered a couple, through a mate at BMW between, 75K-110K.. stillwells had a nice ~01/02 black on black. something about the update model I think "00 onwards apart from the 7inch screen, they changed the Variable cam, or was it valves, or something like that.. fun to drive, a little slow, and looks are ageing... for the same money I could pick up a current 545, but I don't need to right off any tax just yet, had a C32AMG we could have picked up for 70K.. but again a little gutless.

Ronin, yeh I know!! The heart say 34NUR, the pocket says "you must be mad paying 100K for a rice boys car" the misses hated the GTR, but now she says "just buy the gtr, because your driving me mad, the more you think about it, the more crazy your ideas are" I saw a HQ premier ute with a side step body, found the company who make em, in QLD "hughes".. now that looked awesome, even thinking about one of those aswell...

...maybe the misses is right :kick: I think I'll stick to driving whatever I get my hands on, and the work trucks for now... :D

  10. Hey Shan, thanks for the link, the only reason we thought cobra, was to have it running a GTR4WD setup & engine. Otherwise, not really keen on it. Funny you say a GT500KR, I found one the other day, put in my offer and just an email this morning from Bob Eliezer, saying it was sold 2weeks...

    http://www.shelbymustang.com/cars/1968_she..._pictures.shtml

PS: US$56K... Bit of a bargain I reckon, considering they fetch well over US$120 no problems.

As far as the hertz version, a black and gold one sold for AU$140K, not that long ago.. but then, I would have to have "stupid/or sultan of brunai" written on my head if it was going use it as a daily driver.

Snowwy, :spew: each to their own, but sorry mate thay just dont do it for me! the misses is already freaking out how I could even consider a cobra which she calls a "gogo mobile", and says the stang is a MUZZA Mobile?? go figure!! I think she spend too much time watching Dr Phil.

  11. What a fu(ken joke. If "ratings" and "post history" are all you care about well yeah why not leave. And as for SAU Vic, it's people like you who sit on the side lines and take shots but don't have the motivation to get of your arse and help that I despise.....

Hi Adz, I'm not swinging shots at anyone, and personally I reckon, each to there own including Rob... but I sort of agree with him, only because of my own experiences, about the VIC club being a little "slow" in getting things done. He may have other motives, or he may not...I dont know and dont care! But damn me, I remember when I had pretty much organised the "distributors license/deal" with eXedy, and the BFGoodrich deal, and all that was needed was some paper work from the club... which never eventuated, and what a runaround.

Again, no pun intended to anyone, I really do think you guys are genuinely passionate about the club and it's direction..

  12. We bought a bayside blue one out of Qld late last year with 290awkw  rebuilt engine by Gavin Wood, lots of mods in the way of suspension etc and it owes my client under $85K parked at his door.

It is a beautiful car and was the one featured on the front cover of HPI 9.

So it shows there are bargains( or we think it is) that can be had locally.

    Cheers

    Ken

Hi ken.. "$85K.. bargain?", try beating this...

Gran Turismo in melbourne, bought an SAU members 99 Vspec "aka" COPYME, apparantley 400kw at the wheels, slver, engine built by sub zero etc.. for ??

    50K.

  13. Will the mustang be built by the mob in the States who have the rights to the name and kit? Or will it be built here in Australia?

I believe if you bought one of these genuine "Eleanor's" From the states... You wont have any handling problems, nor performnace problems.

I have since forgotten the name of the company, but a quick goggle search should bring it up. These cars I'm talking about are also re vin'd by Shelby, and are/will be on the Shelby world register.

First, lets clarify something... the original creators of ELEANOR was obviously designed for the movie Gone in 60sec by www.cinemavehicles.com . they now reproduce the kits for 67/68 stangs. The mob your talking about is http://www.uniqueperformance.com/ "owned or partially owned" by Carrol Shelby who now are producing a limited number "around 200" ELEANOR clones stamped with the authentic shelby name... these will be starting at around AU $180K for the base 300hp model.

Naturally we've sourced the kit and package from the US... however the TotalControlProducts suspension package has been recalled for major faults and the company has also fallen into receivership and is now owned by some other mob recreating the suspension. So basically the car will be built from scratch here in local cheltenham/melbourne. Another note there's a mob in Sydney who call themselves eleanor australia, who'll be building complete turnkey cars for $180K AU... ..

  14. Heya all, Don't start!! :P Yes I still haven't decided what to get  I've been very quiet since selling the GTR some months ago :( .. and have been close to spending some major time in a physc hospital trying to find another car.. I think were close to making a decision.

Basically everycar we've thought about just doesn't comes close to a GTR, then we swayed a little and started looking at F150 Lightnings, XR6T's FPV GT's, LS2 Monaro's, Supercharging a CLK55, M3's, 993TT, and even a Hummer but bugger that driving a 4.5tonne truck as a daily driver.. So finally well "for now anyway" I think the two that tickle our fancy are:

    1. 67/68 Fastback Mustang "a full ground up" using the original cinema vehicles ELEANOR kit, from Gone in 60secs.

    2826eleanor.jpg

    2. 4WD AC Cobra Replica using R32 GTR running gear.

    2826cobra.jpg

    3. R34 GTR "prefer a NUR Spec" but just can't justify 100K on an jap import...

    Here's the problem;

    1. The Mustang: well we're looking at at least a low 12 high 11sec street car, "daily or every second day" driver. This would equate to around 450-500hp. But old mustangs just don't handle. An aussie company called www.rrs-online.com make suspension packages for them but really wanted SydneyKid's or others opinion on handling options. Another option we're thinking is fitting traction control from www.racelogic.co.uk

    2. The Cobra: Since Jan1 2005, the laws for emission etc have moved onto Euro 2004 or something. Luckily though, we just got in with an engineer who registered us in late december which means we can use some older types engines... BUT NOT an RB26DETT?? unless it's on gas. :) So were thinking Lexus 4.0 V8, Supra TT (dunno about it passing emissions), or BA XR6T, hooked up to the gtr box and gear. With the help from the boys at ICE Performance, we have the donor car R32GTR, we have the engineer who's finally worked out the chassis design for us, but after speaking to some revs head mates they reckon COBRA's don't handle? however the GTR 4wd will help, but the cobra will still lack some corner grip? Any Idea's SK?

    3. R34 GTR, hmmm goes without saying. But just wanted to be a little different and go for the NUR spec, can't justify the 100K :( for a NUR spec and an everyday R34 GTR, is just a "tiny, very minute, about the size of a bees d!ck" boring.

    4. We forget the R34 and just build both the cobra and eleanor? though the eleanor is the preffered option... but handling is the concern for both mainly the stang.

    Cheers

    :) mesh

  15. Wooo Exciting future ahead for the GTR, if renault designers have anything to do with it... I think the inspiration is based on the current model Megane, I mean C'mon who in there right mind could have signed off on this ass end of the car??? This could be the future GTR "BOOTY" ... now that should be fun!

    meg-rs-2-800.jpg

I remember talking to some French dood at the Melbourne Motor show some years ago, when the Megane first arrived. I initially asked about placing an order on the Clio V6, which he said would never come into AU. He then tried to on sell me the Megane, which I replied "you have to be kidding, are Renault actually going to release a car that looks like that??" ... Before I could finish what I was saying, he walked off on me!

  16. feel for you andrew.. that would really make me mad! I'd save myself the headache with stuffing around between consumer affairs and head office.. go straight to your solicitor and get hime to draft a hard core letter.. probably cost you $100. I'm sure your time stuffing around is worth more than, and they get the message you aint here for games.
