Hi Guys,I haven't been on the forum for many months now. I have finished my two year stint in Canada and I'm now back in Australia (since July 2015). My last post was when we had just visited San Francisco. Since then we have visited so much more! Below are just a few of the highlight shots from mid 2014 to mid 2015. The last 8 months has just been settling back into Australian life and starting my new project car.Denver County Court
Impromptu Trip to Paris
Down to Chile and into the Atacama Desert
Standing on top of Toronto
Chicago
New York City!
Seattle
Vancouver
Jackson Square in New Orleans
And just a map to show all the places we managed to go

Haven't been on the forum in ages mainly due to lack of traffic. Nice to see people are starting to organise something again. I used to be on here multiple times a day in the early to mid 2000's. Was a big distraction from my uni work back in the day. I guess as the very active members have got older their priorities have also changed. Not to say that they are not still car enthusiasts, but I guess as we get older we get more responsibilities. The younger generations, as mentioned previously, don't use forums as much as they were used 10 years ago and opt for facebook groups instead. It is actually quite sad considering the amount of information that you can find on these forums that you will just never get from a facebook group. Still to this day if I need info, I will search forums as they are a real gold mine.

In Canada you can actually import, register and drive on the road any car that was manufactured 15 years ago or older. This means that we have a ton of R32s, R33s and even R34s. I own a 1999 R34 GTT that I daily drive, and as of Jan 1 2015 we can legally drive 2000 model R34s on the street
Nice! I was misinformed of the rules then. I am living in Toronto on a two year work transfer. Moving back to Australia in July after two brutal winters. I must say though, Toronto does not have much in the way of imports compared to Vancouver. Where are you from Samuel?

The problem here in Canada is that later model R32's and all R33's and R34's can not be road registered. I'm sure there are a lot of members from Canada, but not many with Skylines.

It is pretty sad to see the forum in a ghost town state. I joined 9 years ago and it was a hive of activity back then. Lots of events going on all the time. I don't even have a Skyline any more. I've sold both the R33 and the R34 and don't even live in Perth at the moment (in Canada for a two year work trip), but I still come on here every so often to see how things are going. Met a lot of great people through this club. Hopefully things pick up again one day.
I must say though, the club went through a stage of many people not attending events. I think the members were a bit spoilt by some very good mods who organised a lot of events. Then people started thinking that there were plenty of events to choose from, so they didn't need to attend all the events. Attendance to events started to drop so the mods started to lose interest. They didn't feel that their effort was valued any more. I guess that is what stopped them from trying. I have been to cruises where literally 5 members would show up. It is pretty disheartening when you plan a cruise, do a test run, print out 50-100 maps and 5 cars turn up.
Not trying to point fingers or anything, just want to give a little perspective. Hopefully things turn around in the future. It will take a team of enthusiastic members to drive it though.

Had a work trip out to Chile this week. I had to visit a couple of mine sites near Calama which is the entry point into the Atacama Desert. This is the oldest and driest desert in the world.

Great shots of Alaska! I have to get there someday!
The weather here in Toronto hasn't been that great over weekends, so haven't had a chance to get out and take photos much.
This guy was right outside our office this morning though, so took a quick snap on the phone.

Hi Guys,At the end of my work trip to Germany, I spent the weekend looking around Frankfurt. These are a few of the shots I got.

My wife and I hopped over to Paris for the weekend. Was a very busy couple of days, but we absolutely loved it. Here are a few photos I took.

There is definitely a lot to see on this side of the world. I'm here based in Toronto on a two year work contract. Been travelling all over Canada and the USA. I would highly recommend coming here. Check out my Flickr page to see all the places I have been

Great shot Kory!
I drove from Billings to Columbus, Montana today. These are just a couple of landscape shots I took along the way. Unfortunately there are not a lot of places you can stop along the Interstate 90 as there was some great scenery that I couldn't capture. -
I am in Denver, Colorado for the weekend so decided to walk around the down town area. Quite a few historical buildings around. Just a couple of shots I thought I'd share.

I haven't posted for a little while, but I've been travelling for the past month. I thought I would share a few photos from my time in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Absolutely loved travelling around both these cities. If you would like to see more, check out my Flickr page. If anyone is travelling to these two cities, I have two hot tips:1. To enjoy Los Angeles you must hire a car. If you don't, you will hate it. We hired a Camaro which made it even better2. San Francisco caters for tourists better than any city I've been to. Make use of the hop on hop off bus tours and get all day passes for public transport. The cable cars, trains and buses are excellent.San Francisco

Awesome photo's mate. Can I ask how much the Challenger was to hire as I'm heading to Arizona in November?
I can't remember what this one was, but I have a Camaro booked in LA, California in three weeks time for about $60 per day. The Challenger was a bit more than that.

I have done another trip. This time I flew from Salt Lake City, Utah to Phoenix, Arizona where I did quite a long drive through Safford and Tucson. Before flying out of Utah, I visited the Rice-Eccles Stadium where the winter Olympics in 2002 was held. In Arizona I spent my road trip driving around a Dodge Challenger which was great fun and got to see some good scenery as well.

I've always thought the Trust Drag Wing looks the best on R33's. Not my car, but this is an example of what I mean.

Have a look at this thread.
It is a discussion of the differences between the series.
I must say though, it looks like a series 1.5.

If there is a system that can remotely stop cars at will, there will be two major issues to consider.
- It can be disabled, so if people really want to get rid of it, they will.
- If it is remotely operated, that means the system can by hacked and someone from the public can therefore stop cars at will and cause mayhem.
Somehow I don't think this will happen.
-
Don't forget that there are a lot of big differences between the GT and the GTT. Do some searching on this forum as its been covered a few times. The gearbox, diff and brakes are also all different and ideally should be changed.

Not worth it. I had an NA R33 and it was cheaper to sell it and buy an R34. And this was about seven years ago, so prices were significantly higher than they are now.
You can't just put on a turbo kit. You have to do so much more and it will cost you an arm and a leg.

My wife and I drove down to Niagara Falls today. Being absolutely freezing, the place was a ghost town which made photo opportunities easy. It was amazing to see how it has frozen over. The USA Falls is almost completely frozen with the Canadian Falls only partially frozen. Here are a few snaps I got.

Awesome photos by Brian and motoractive!
Was devastated to see the GTR hit the Ferrari at Bathurst! My heart sank as soon as I saw the carnage. Deserved win by Craig Lowndes in the end though.
