  1. Hi

Just need to know of the best guys in brisbane to take my car to get it tuned properly. Every one i go to tells me they just need the hand controller. But i know for a fact to get the best tune possible you need the apexi laptop software. Does anyone know who some of the garages in brisbane are that have this software so i can get a good solid tune out of my car

    cheers

even better try the QLD workshops tread and make some calls and see.....

  2. you can not import an evo III for road use at all , they are not on the sevs list . I assume they fail because they are to close to the CC GSR turbo 4wd lancer misti brought in to australia

there used to be a loophole in victory to let you bring one in and replace a written off domestic GSR lancer with it but that has been closed

you can bring in a race only one if you have or can find someone with a cams license and then you can transfer all the running gear to a CC gsr lancer , the car is virtually identical to the evo III when you are done .

its not that difficult but domestically delivered gsrs are getting rarer and expensive so the total cost would probably almost equal an evo VI which you can bring in anyway

wonder when is the 15 year rule kick in for these cars.......or is that stoped now.....

damn....the shit they make us go though to get a car........

  3. That is correct, there is a solenoid which operates and moves the shield out of the way giving the full xenon lamp unshielded for full beam! :P

No, I have 4 x Bi-Xenon projectors, as in all 4 on for lo and hi beam!

*** Ignore the sidelights, that was just a trial fit! ***

I chose the Audi units because they are Bi-Xenon and because they are made by Hella and therefore fit most headlight units, the BMW ones don't fit in the R33 headlight units (Bi-Xenons that is). As for the Honda units, I don't know to be honest, it wasn't an option available to me at the time.

heard about abbey motorsport do some wicked GTR............is you one making 550 plus HP......ohhh....mad ass lights tooo

  4. Kushil - My Series II only had POD (enclosed, cold air feed and heat shielding foam) Turbo back exhaust and the factory dual stage boost bypassed so it would run 7psi all the time. At a guess, the car would've made 140-145rwkw's? It had Bilstien Shocks, King Springs, 265 rubber (rears 235 front) and a strut brace so it was fun to drive having come from an NA FWD Celica. The R makes my Series II feel like a stock NA silvia. The power and handling is not comparable. I friend of mine who drives a fairly modded 185awkw WRX explained that he didn't want to race me on the strip or track after going for a ride in it.

I was under the impression that moving into a GTR would just be a heavier, slightly better handling and more powerful Skyline but the difference between the two cars is much bigger than that. Drive one and you'll understand better, good luck on your purchase!

NB: To be fair, the R has more mods than my last car by the way.

Bugger.......ya...i got the same sort of mods in my GTST...no cold air shilelding though....and still on factory boost...probably a bit slower than you car.......

    thankx for the info..

NB: To be fair, the R has more mods than my last car by the way. I am preety sure it has ???....

  5. Nice silver S2 Man, i got mine for 16500...How much has it COME DOWN now, personally will never get a AUTO skyline....but mates got one and hate to admit.......its actually quite good.....

Always wanted the GTR spoiler.......looks better than S2 spoiler in my view.....Get some good wheels...will look heaps better

  6. that tread really helps.......i will probably go with 235/45R17 front and then 255/40/r17 back,if they fit my wheels, if not probably 235 all rounds.......

front ones getting mazzis - got number 3 on wheels tyre comparison (149 a piece on bob jane) and used branded tyres for the rear. can not afford 255 brand new cos they very expensive..........

  7. Coast run today.

a few of us are heading down for the arvo...

have no idea about tyres so might sound dump

also looking for recent price tyres not the expensive stuff... minimum 150-180 tyre mark....

    any choices guys.....

  9. if this was the real thing, they can investigate as much as they want....but you will get the money at the end, what compnay is this ..i am with "JUST Cars"...

also i heard that having a KILL switch somewhere (hiden) will be more effective than most imobalizers.....

fitted to the fuel pump...they might steal it...but still need to drive it off....

my mates R33 has saterlite tracking alarm....dont know if this is the ultimate thing ($11 month i think)...but in melbourne...dont know about the service in brisbane ??

anyway hope you get it back !!!...or just hassle up the insurance company cos that wht theye for...and get a better ride.....

  10. Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies so far.
