  1. I've been searching for info on V35's to replace my ageing POS 1994 Maxima.

Window failure in a Nissan again! I thought they fixed this problem, how the hell do they manage to replicate it again? :P

The window motors in the Maxima have been replaced by an auto elec, after Nissan charged me $200 just to look at the car. All up has cost me $500+ and they still don't work!

The back rear window is chocked up with wood, which is very stylish.

The front windows would not come back up so I reversed the polarity and used the door entry keypad to wind them back up then disconnect the power all together.

Basically I don't need to deal with this f**king bullshit again in another Nissan.

Anyone actually had someone fix the windows in the V35 and have them stay fixed before I even think about buying a V35?

Is the same problem in R33/34s or just the V35?

  2. The RB25DE and RB25DET engines have the NVCS Nissan Variable Cam System on the inlet cam. This should not be confused with VTEC-type cam timing, as NVCS only adjusts the rotation of the cam and does not alter the lift or duration of the valves. NVCS engines can be identified from non NVCS RB engines by the cam gear cover (the NVCS RB has a bulge on the cam gear cover) at the end of the inlet cam.

Nissan Valve-Timing Control System is mainly for low and medium speed torque production because the vast majority of the time, engine RPMs will not be at extremely high speeds. The NVCS system can produce both a smooth idle, and high amounts of low and medium speed torque. Although it can help a little at the top-end also, but the main focus of the system is low and medium range torque for more power and torque at lower rpm.

Also try this link, has a graphic on differences with and without NVCS.

    Sik sig BTW. :P

  3. Here is what I have recieved:

    My question was:

Is there a more recent document for vehicle modifications.

All I can find is one from January 2005 which will soon be 2 years old.

I am inquring specifically on Blow Off Valves fitted by a mechanic as well as seating modification.

    The reply:

    Hello,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

You can view the modifications brochure at the following web address.

    http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/LTASinf...s_modifications

If you have further questions you can contact our modifications department

    on (07) 3253 4851.

Should you require any further information, please contact Queensland

Transport on telephone 13 23 80 between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday

(Local call charge in Australia. Higher rates apply from mobile phones and

payphones. For international callers, please phone +61 7 3834 2011).

    So basically nothing in writing.

I did find these on the Transport site though (click the links):

Light Vehicle Replacement Suspension Modifications (7 August 2003)

Seat Belts for Used Imported Vehicles (15 December 2005)

Auxiliary Driving Lamps Fitted to Motor Vehicles (30 June 2006)

    Hope they help someone!

  4. Have been reading the foums, specifically people's complaints about laws/regulations and have done some research.

Click the link below for QLD vehicle legislation.

    Transport Operations

This contains lots of information particularly page 47 (Part 2 Australian Design Rules).

    • Lighting
    • Braking
    • Emmissions
    • Vehicle Markings
    • Etc

Then there's always the easy reading stuff (link below).

    Light vehicle modifications

This contains some information with most of it being how you interpret it.

I have asked MANY legal questions in a single, simple to comprehend e-mail to QLD Transport.

I'll post what I recieve if anything.

  5. Just a sample of some of the pics I took at the Cairns Car Show.

I made them small so they'll load quick, would have taken lots more, especialy the Imports but my card died on me!
