  1. I lived with a bloke up in North Queensland who worked out at the mines, brang home around $1600 in the hand a week, but its very long hours, very hard work and basically its a shitty lifestyle, but some people enjoy it, bloke was 22 and owned a XR8 Ute outright.

I have to agree, I have clients who work for mining companies and are given shares as part of their employment package. Remember that you have to go underground and there have been times when mines have collapsed like last year, those guys were lucky to get out, the ones that don't make it out may be entombed as it may not be possible to recover the bodies.

Its a very nomadic lifestyle some of my clients tell me they are going bush when they quit and just disappear, you have to be an outdoorsy type not exactly the life for a city slicker.

That said whilst you are young its a job where you can bring in big bucks but you need to know when to get out because it can age you quickly.

Do it for a few years but keep your mind geared towards the career you really want.

  2. The firm doesn't happen to start with "B" and end in "R" would it?

My best mate works as a stock broker in 101... I'm in 147 at 'one of those big accounting firms' there.

Heaps of my mates are lawyers and work in 101...

Bell Potter, no, they are an Australian Firm not a Wall Street Firm.

  3. Ok cool. I will keep my eye out for it..

You would catch me having coffee at Chit Chats on the weekends in High st

My Grey R33 would be parked right out the front...

With the weather warmer you are more likely to see me on my blue Yamaha R6 on weekends with a bunch of girl riders having breakfast and shots of espresso before heading out for a fang thru the Dandenogs and then to Healesville.

  4. Should have realised it would be parliament end... Being thats where all the action is for your industry.

Our office was only a 2 blocks from there till the IT people were shipped down to 333

And its the nicer end of Collins aswell, far better then middle/Spencer part.

If i hear of something i'll let you know my friend

Yes, much nicer end, though lots of development work going up in Spencer St and hey there is a Krispy Kreme up that end.

Used to work at Stock Exchange Building 530 Collins with UBS Warburg.

  5. I live in Berwick what skyline you got should of seen it getting around..

I have a white R33, 96 GTS-T 2 dr thats been lowered, normally have a coffee in High St, Berwick on weekends when I don't go away.

  6. ahh fair enough... the station in beconsfield or berwick u go from?

From Beaconsfield, though some nights we when we are working on a major corporate action, takeover etc company will put me up in a city Hotel for the night or couple of nights.

  7. Which building?

IT Operations for me... Senior/shift leader.

I reckon a fair portion of people (who are on these forums) are in IT somewhere... well... its the dominating industry it seems

    101 Collins Street

  8. Hi all

I get quite a few looks of disbelief when I tell people I drive a turbo charged Skyline and also ride a motorbike.

Most people it seems think Skylines are driven by hoons who are out cruising Chapel Street and then drag down the Prince's Highway.

Just wondering what everyone does for a living, is there a general segment of the popualtion that are attracted to Skylines, Tradies, single dads, students,IT professionals.

Oh I work as a research assistant for a large stockbroking firm.

  9. ok now back to the real reason every one is still posting here.....MEL...not neons lol

Guys, guys you are all going off topic, keep it on track.

I for one love my neons, so much so that I am trying to figure out a way to place them on my Yamaha R6 motorbike because I saw another rider cruising down Chapel with them on.

If you are reacting this way towards me I think you would all blow a gasket over my friends one of whom caused a car accident riding her Kawasaki ZX636. She was at the lights on Beach Road Port Melbourne and bending forward as you do over those bikes when you are on them and showing too much G String out of her leather pants and the car behind her ploughs into the one in front. Luckily it was a two lane road and the car was not directly behind her.

    You guys are a worry..lol

  10. you guys are the biggest sellouts ever... next thing you know your R33 GTSt's will be rocking prada and D&G interior trim.

meanwhile... i'm off to go ziptie my LED underbody lights on... coz apparently the chicks that do chap laps love it.

    FUNKYMONKEY...!!!!!!

    HOW DARE YOU..HOW DARE YOU..........................YOU FORGOT GUCCI...........MY FAVOURITE LABEL........LOL

Seriously guys just do what you feel comfortable with, don't try to impress the girls if its not you. We will suss you out cos you wont look right and won't feel comfortable with all the attention. I wouldn't expect a tattooed truckie to be running neons on his rig...

Wear it only if the shoe fits ya.

  11. meh,

honk if u see me? damn woman what car do u drive? how do we recognise u :) (photo)

Be blind to miss me in a white 96 GTS-T coupe, been lowered with body kit and three inch exhaust. Normally riding with me are three girlfriends pumping out Hed Kandi on the stereo. Always seem to get pulled up by the cops outside Kentucky Friend Chicken but a bit of cleavage works wonders.

  12. The go is dont put them on ..They look gay..

Hi all my first post, I have neons, yes all my girlfriends love them, I got them because I saw Paris Hilton had them on an episode of the simple life.

Then again I am blonde and have my moments.

As for them being gay as well, suppose that captures me to some extent as I am also bi-sexual.

Honk me when you see me on the highway or down Chapel Street.
