  1. Yep, was at this round at calder spectating, very exciting to watch, that orange cobra had some mumbo down the straight!!!!! But the Porsche had him in the corners, they changed positions 20 times in the ten lap race and the cobra won by a tenth of a second over the porsche after ten laps....

The cobra is a Python built by George Vidovick, its been around awhile, was raced in margue sports with success. post-35252-1176330777.jpeg

  2. Send me a PM and ill send you the titles, all 30bucks each which includes postage with in Oz

10 films, clearing out the cuboard, as i stated only over 18 please. all original and all legal, just dont want to put titles and pics as that will break the rules of this forum. cheers

  3. JAGR33,

If we get the support for a national series we will be racing at Winton, another AASA track, but at this stage I'm not sure whether Victoria is looking to make it part of their AASA Victorian State Championship. This event is an AASA event and as such recognizes both, CAMS NC (old C3) Licences and AASA licences.

    Cheers Paul.

seroius! I hope it comes to victoria, do you know which series it would be with, VSCRS or VMRC? How difficult has it been to get this new series up and running? i could see this running in another class like 944 ran with marque sports until thier field grew and they got thier own race. At the last VMRC round the saloon cars and sports cars ran together and the field was still small, so JDM could run with them to begin with. Anyway just thoughts, it sounds very exciting esp to someone about to start building a new track car. Would my brothers 240Z with a RB25 be elligalble?post-35252-1172956072.jpg

  4. haha did anyone get any new emails about cams updates with sport sedans in their state championship round now....they are opening it up to japanese cars and freeing up some of the rules on turbos and whatnot...guess they are losing people and trying to regain some form of popularity...one min they piss us off and then they come back groveling for support...even offering cash prizes now too!

Cams is so sad...typical old boys club...dont like new cars and dont like anything with a hair dryer on it.

Yes i noticed this, my brother is thinking of running in sports sedans rather than marque sports once his rebuild is finished. I think its great that they are moving with the times. I love the chev powered escorts and alike and it will be great to see skylines, Z's etc out on the track, maybe some people with deep pockets will build up some super GT styled cars to run. I do know that if your car is turbo charged you cannot space frame it.

  5. the sakers ran in the intermarque during 05 not sure which category they will be entered in this year. Going to be a good year when it kicks off in two weeks

have fun there gtstcruiser67, enjoy watching some boosted 911's running out there, Wayne Hennigs and John Goods 996 GT2R's are very nice :)

J Goods gearbox will have to hold together though...LOL

  6. KTM 125 SX 2002, The bike is fast and handles like a 125 should. Starts 1st or 2nd kick when cold, Brand new clutch (complete) Pads are near new, chain and sprockets are in excellent condition, has race pipe, brembos, wave disks, sticker kit, ceet seat cover

Bikes two previous owners: first a girl who did some racing, bike was well looked after and maintained, second owner used bike as a trail type bike, ie not on tracks. Had lower engine rebuild at the start of the year and piston and rings around mid year but hasnt been ridden very much.

I have ridden the bike a 6 times and have always cleaned filter and dumped eng oil after each ride. Can be viewed in Highett Victoria, pick up is preferred.

Selling to put money into track car and cause i now have broken ribs due to riding too fast..lol

  8. Just so you know mate, the 180sx is an S13. Wasn't sure if you were aware. :)

If you do go that route I can say you won't be dissapointed, but I'm sure I could say the same thing for an R32/33. They're a hell of a lot of fun, relatively quick, easy to modify, parts are plentiful, the SR is rock solid (well mine has been) and there is a gamut of information out there on them. Plus they look great in my opinion

There's also not many running around the track days here in Vic, so it's nice to have something a little bit different.

If you've got any questions, or want to check mine out or whatnot, feel free to ask man and I'll do my best to give you any info you need.

I've got a real soft spot for 180SX's. I've now had about 9 cars, including 2 180sx's, and it's my favourite by far.

    Dane

Sorry, im still getting used to whats what, am i right in saying a s13 silvia is the same as a s13 180 as far as drive line etc, just different body?

Where are you based? Have you run your car at any race meetings? or are u doing sprints etc?

  9. at the moment a 180 is now at the top of my list, i just think it can grow into a great track car over time, and also offer some fun straight out of the box. A S13 is cheaper but it just doesnt have the right look in the rear, and part of the package is the look. I know i know, but remember im a designer, im a very visual person, yes i know it shouldnt be about looks, but hell it is to degree for me. a 180 should be a fraction slipperier (not sure if thats a real word) also. R32/33 are wicked and i still might go to that side but a 180 is looking strong. Mind you the mention of a mr2 has sparked some interest too. LOL the search goes on, and i still need to save some more $$ so im in no hurry. keep the thoughts coming, lots of great info flowing here.

    Cheers all.

  10. Well, was still shaking down car and myself..lol so 1.58 was my best which is nothing that great, i have in car footage and i was making many errors, we think that it would do a low 50. It didnt have full slicks either. But as i said i was only quicker than the newer cars i think as they were road cars and maybe still learning themselves, was a great feeling to be on the track with such cars though.

My younger bro does a 1.47 around the island is his 240z, that full slicks and a fairly sorted Z, he has a r33 half cut arriving this week which will have a heart transplant into the Z, so hes hoping for quicker times.

Its not that the car stock is more as a Z suitable to race can still be had for under 2 - 2.5K its just that you need to spend a fair amount on the suspension/ brakes etc, and u still have an old car, we figure for the same cost you can do a newer nissan or similar.

  11. wow..lots of discussion, im still looking at my options. I will certainly not be getting a 4WD, im just a fan of rear wheel drive and i can if i want to down the track then enter the car in classes like sports sedans, marque sports (as a 2A) etc if budget grows.

I did do some PIARC days a few years back in my 260..lol actually was a lot faster than a bunch of sklines, wrx's and Evos..LOL i shouldnt have been, but then my Z was a full race car and the others were road cars, was great fun. I thought of doing a Z but it would work out more to do so, which is kinda crazy but with all the off the shelf parts available for later model cars its just the way it is. I had to custom make everything for the Z, anyway will let you all know what i do when i do it. Cheers again for the thoughts.

  12. either an SR20 powered S13 (either silvia or 180) or the 32 GTST would be the go I reckon.

as you can import one not needing registration either one will be very cheap.

my ultimate cheap (ish) sprint, track, hill climb car would be:

    R32 GTST

    SR20DET conversion

small external wastegate turbo (around 2835, making around 250rwkw with all the supporting gear)

stripped weight to around 1100 - 1200 kilos

all the other obvious track stuff

that would be a winner I reckon.

sounds like some good ideas, cheers

  13. Just an idea, does it have to be a Nissan? If you don't mind going three star then the evos make decent race rockets. You can pick up versions 1 to 4 for next to nothing in Japan. Parts are a little more scarce in Australia though. Also imported WRXs or if you need it RWD a rotary would make a nice light club car, early versions of both are really cheap here too. WRXs and Evos were made as race cars so even with out modification they can be a lot of fun on the track. 180s, s13s and non GTR 32,33s will take a bit of work.

ok. i must say, i know the evos are fast but im just not a fan, i looked at a wrx, but after talking to a very good mate who has a subaru mechanic business and a subaru parts business it was decided to get good hp it was going to be outside my budget even thru him on parts etc. I also love the newer Rx7s but know nothing about rotarys, actually i know less than nothing..lol so i come back to Nissan. R32 is looking good at this point, but if a cheap 180 or silvia came up i may be tempted as they are lighter.

I do have this thread on another forum (nissansilvia) so as to get both sides. Thanks to all for your thoughts, i will keep you up to date if you want on what i choose and how things go.
