  1. well the other week i was accelerating and heard a slight rattling like sound going with revs, went home and listened at idle,it was ok,the next day we were driving home and it was getting a little worst,(i had the car parked up till yesterday, someone came to look at my ute on sunday and when i started my wagon to move it,it didnt stop on idle and gets bad with revs... and it sounds like bottom end to me,should i get a whole new motor??(as mine has 185,000km) or just get it all rebuilt??anywhere recommended in PERTH??? thanks,

  2. no sorry definately not a preheater for the cat on these.

it is just a cat temp sensor, it runs a light on the dash if the cat gets too hot (ie blocked). I have been running with mine disconnected for years.

+1 when i got my car i used to hit bumps and see a red light flash, took it in and got a new cat sensor, then a lil while ago i was in my local spot with my bikes and had a bit of fun in a huge open area of dirt/grass,broke the bead on 3 of my 18's and snapped the cat sensor wire clean off...lights on constantly now.ya get used to it

  3. done my coil packs today,it wasnt hard just fiddly really.but it goes so much better, and fuel economy is way better, though it is still bad :P now that its done i need to find that r33 that tried racing me yesterday but my car was just missin and not goin anmywhere haha,

  4. hi mate im only going to say it because someone else probably will but maybe do a search through the threads,im sure iv seen a few on this and i think they came to a conclusion that s1 and s2 are different, cheers

  5. before anyone says it,YES i searched for the answer.i am just wondering what part i can use,i have a 3" exhaust,fmic,10-11psi,pod filter.(if it changes anything) also how do i know when its on its way out,it is getting a bit noisy i notice when i back off and pulling up to stop(cars to loud under throttle to hear any other time) thanks

  6. Hi

I have splitfires and i am using laser platinum plugs (PFR5G-11) gaped at .8 with no problum although i have been toled i should be using PFR6G-11

are they a platinum? if so the guy who i spoke to yesterday who owns several drag/drift cars told me to stay away from platinum in turbo cars, apparently due to the tip being different they cant handle boost and play up very easily. or would the platinum version be a pfr6g-11OE??

  7. i have had no luck finding plugs, the car is in the garage with everything off but the only plugs i could find were a $130 set of platinum...i have been asking around and trying to get the bcpr6e with one colder heat range but if TANGLES has had no problems then i will stick with the 6's.has anyone got splitifres?what plugs were you using? heat range?

  8. i have 18x8 chrome scorches on my wagon with 235/40 all round, fit perfect,j spec had a stag a while back with a set of 20's on a s1?? has anyone come to a conclusion on the biggest fitment..? as iwould love a set of 19's-20's...so many wheel threads but cant seem to find an exact answer.cheers.i have a s1 btw if it is different to s2

  9. Holy f*ck how cool is your exhaust system! :P

    Welcome fellow Abflug connoisseur. :)

+1 i couldnt find any tips in perth like that so i went with my single,it looks mean

  10. congrats,i bought my stag when i was 18(20 now) just after my son was born and i crashed my statesman, thats a nice car,the deep dish looks nice on the half rear/half side on pics.

  11. hey dude

    I strongly recommend NGK BCPR6E

They are a 0.8mm pregapped, copper, v-groove plug. They are fine up to slightly over 300rwkw odd

    only $3.00 each, change from a $20.

will last as long as your tyres, get good spark being copper and .8mm

I use these, for 2 yrs I used stock coil packs that had hi-temp industrial silicone sealant all around them to help stop wasted spark, but changed to my splitifres i got for chrissy recently. didnt change plugs as the current bcpr6e set is only 5000 thou old.

feels real nice with these $19 plugs and splitfire coilpacks, idles very well, pulls well too with no breakdown

cheers mate that is the exact answer i was looking for, luckily i couldnt make it to coventrys to pick up the $135 set of platinum!! so cheers
