  1. Thought i might as well throw up some lobster backs ive done.

Did this 33 with all bends lobster backed, and everything in the engine bay lobster backed.. Even the straight sections were made from lobster back bits so the whole bay looked the same.

Cant remember the settings but i tig 1.6 tube on about 6-7 amps and use .9 filler wire from a mig roll. Not a fan of the 1.6 rods.

I also have some pics of a KE70 i did with a small intake and surge tank, and a NA-T supra i did.

  2. I have a unitig ac/dc 200amp thats a couple of years old now. Like already said, cant fault it. Welds great and heaps of functions to control everything. My hand piece has a wheel (like a mouse wheel) to control amps too.

Really great welder, so much that im looking at getting a unimig mig welder when the time is right

  3. Havent been on this forum for a while now but this thread caught my eye..

Im a sheety by trade but have been doing boilermaking for nearly 4 years now so have done alot of MIG, TIG and ARC welding.

30ed32- TIG's can also be used as an ARC welder, you just need to remove the TIG torch and attatch the ARC hand piece and change a couple of settings depending on what machine you have.

I have a UNI TIG AC/DC welder http://www.bridgeswa...p?ProductID=217 that i use at home mostly just to make things for myself. Its packed with heaps of features and even has a wheel on the torch (like a mouse wheel) to adjust the amps.

A tip i havent seen anyone say yet is to keep your hands as steady as you can.. You can be the best welder but if your hands are moving around and it dosnt need to be much at all (a few mm) then the weld pool will follow and you will end up with a weld that can be messy. I always try to support my arms on something, like ill use my elbow as a pivot point or if there ist anything to rest on then ill tuck my arms into my chest area just to keep steady.

The DC TIG's can be good to use but for a first timer they can be frustrating. The reason is that they are a scratch start, meaning that you need to scratch the tungsten tip on the work to strike an ark. When you're learning to TIG you will end up grinding and re grinding the tungsten enough times to drive you crazy. If the tip isnt a sharp point then the arc will wander around and will make it hard to control the weld pool. AC/DC has HF (high frequency) start meaning that when you press the button (or foot pedal) then the arc will automatically start or jump to the workpiece without touching it, plus with AC you can weld ally.

And 1 last thing for now that a few people dont know.. When you finish your TIG weld and you get that little pin hole in the center of the weld pool, that is from the arc suddenly stopping. If your TIG has a downslope setting you can turn it up a little bit to stop that from happening. For those that dont know, the downslope can be used to make the arc slowly fade out instead of a sudden stop. Just remember to turn up the post gas flow aswell if you turn up the downslope

  4. been getting them for a few weeks too. . dont delete them . . mark/report them as phishing scams so something can be done bout it. .

I think it deletes it once you mark/report it. . .

  5. The government dosnt really want people to stop speeding . . . they say there doing things to stop it (which they do a bit), BUT. . just imaging if no one sped. . . Think about how much money they would loose if everyone did the right thing. . .

So. . . Technically. . When we speed and get caught and fined, we are actually helping WA . . lol

  6. I know man.. i was making a joke with you. why wont u joke with me? :)

how much did she pay for it?

Sorry dan . . ill joke with you. . hug???

    I think she payed around 12 - 13 grand for it. .

So you guys thing about 3000 to 3,500 for it?

  7. Guys i know i will be reemed for saying i think camera's are fine cause the money raised is actually spent on the road which we like to use, the problem with getting rid of them is our roads will then be paid for out of our taxes, which means they will have to go up cause they will not take the money for roads off schools or public health. i just want them to stop with the speed kills approach and say it is revenue raising and then actually use that money to make our roads more safe to actually drive on. I also agree that we need more marked cars to stop idiots in single peggers doing 180's in front of me at the lights so i have to get around him or slam into him.... that is the stuff a camera and lower speeds wont find and catch...

They dont use much of the money on roads. . There was a thing on the radio the other day about that. . They were talking to an rac guy bout it. . he said something bout them making 200 million a year or something. . and we still have crap roads. .

That camera in the red wagon looks like something out of the Jackle

  8. no sense.

Advertise it for $4k and see how you go :(

Not sense. . i ment cents. . as in $3498.73 to make it more accurate. . .

Yeah ill let her know. . shes going to be shocked with it worth so little. . she paid a bit for it a few years ago

  9. It used to be a really nice car. . the interior is perfect, but once the roof/boot started to fade and the bonnet went crappy and yellow (no uv protectant) it started to go downhill. . When the heater started leaking, it drained all the water from the motor so she parked it up and hasnt moved for a long time. .

Also the body is in good nic. . its just faded and there isnt any damage to the metal. . .

I am thinking bout buying it for a track/street car, so the motor, heaterbox and some of the other problems wouldnt matter. .

  10. Hey guys,

Just wondering what my friends R33 is worth as she is thinking about getting rid of it. .

    Its a 93 N/A coupe, 5 speed manual and has a few problems. .

    Ok . . it needs,

    New tyres

    New windscreen

the heated box to be fixed/replaced

Water pump to be fitted (already have a new one in a box)

The side skirts and rear bar are badly cracked and need to be fixed and painted

A R/H front quarter guard (had fiberglass ones but took them off)

    Both electric window motors

The radiator needs a flush and so does the motor. . The intake runners where the radiator hose joins to was rotted out so dont know how bad the motor is . .

    Radiator/heater hoses

the roof and boot have faded, so would need a respray

and the C/F bonnet is in bad condition. . very faded and yellow . . Needs a cut/polish and to be sealed

Also, some of the motor has been pulled appart to replace the water pump and the dash is out as we were going to take out the heater box. .

Just wondering what it would be worth in this condition?

    Thanks for any help

    Daniel

  11. Not a single intersection but any round abouts. . (the double lane ones)

Is it just me or does everyone on the outside lane ALWAYS cut into the inside lane and make you get really close to the roundabout?

I cant remember how many times this has happened to me and ive been forced up the curb on the inside of the roundabout. . happens just about every week. .

And like stinky rooster said, the roundabout on armadale rd. . Happens mostly there and the one further up in forrestdale (still on armadale rd)

    STAY IN YOUR LANE!!!

  12. Where is it? Ive heard of it but never been there. .

Also i pick my new credit card up tomorrow and my pay will be over a grand on thursday so me thinks ill definetly be going hehe. .

Anyone know why they are closing?

  13. haha awesome vid

havent done it to anyone yet. . keyword is YET

Years and years ago when i was little i was in the car with my dad on the way to barbagallo to see the V8s, old lady was putting her shopping in the back of her car (some little hatch back thing) and my dad thought it would be a good idea to splash her lol

It was one of the biggest waves ive ever seen come from a puddle and obviously she copped it all

    We both pis*ed ourselves laughing

But i wouldnt do it to someone old or little kids, unless the kids were derro haha

would love to get a bunch of emo/punk people one day

  14. Do the bonnet and boot black, leave the mirrors cf and if your not sure bout the roof get a black vinil that covers the roof and pillars. . seen that done a few times. . then if you dont like it you can just peel it off. . i doubt it would cost too much either
