  1. The Tokyo Motor Show was held for the 41st time over the end of October and beginning days of November. Put together for the automobile manufacturers to debut new ideas and machines, the show has been one of the two major automotive shows for over four decades now. The show is a place where masterpieces are revealed, creative renditions are further endorsed and/or squashed.

With Chris as the cameraman, we were able to get a great ratio of eye to eye shots with the showcar models. For all pictures with models holding pamphlets, we have the actual pamphlets available! Original fingerprints are included for the models without gloves. First come first serve.

    Chris's Insight to the Show:

Most Popular car: FT-86 (Rebirth of the AE86!!)

Most Popular Girls: Subaru B4 Girls (Lost two teeth and got a black eye just to get these pictures)

Best Show and Stand: Honda (Robots, Gizmo's and Innovation. 'Creating the never before')

Personal Favorites: Daihatsu Deca Deca, and Lotus EXIGE Stealth

  2. Motor Sport Japan is an event held to give the city folk of Tokyo exposure to the motorsports world. Starting in 2006 and has been increasing in popularity since, the tally for the two day event was over 130,000 people last year. The fourth annual Motorsport Japan event was held last weekend (October 10/11).

Put together by the domestic auto makers, race teams and JAF with the concept of letting the event-goers 'see' 'hear' and 'touch' the results of over 50 years of Japanese motor sports evolution, it is a great event for the senses.

The event is setup for the spectators to see and hear the high horsepower machines from the Super GT, F3, WRC, F1 upclose in detail. The opportunity to caress a couple of the high quality parts which put racing machines together along with the scent of the racing fuel and tires burnt during demo runs also added a great touch to the event.

Given the small area of the Odaiba parking lot the demo runs weren't as spectacular as say, the D1 and MSC drift events however being able to hear the raw sound of the engines powering these powerful machines in their raw form is always a treat.

It is unfortunate that we cannot share all of the sensory joys of the event but we would like to share some of the visual aspect with the pictures taken.

Hopefully some of the forum members will enjoy the pictures and even mark the calender to make it out during next years event!

    Additional insight from Takeru:

One great attraction for was to get to see Lexus's upcoming supercar, the LF-A in action. The one featured by Toyota at the event was the same LF-A seen tracking around the Nurburgring. (I was half hoping for a close-to-production ready concept, but I guess I will have to wait for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show.) Its V10 wasn't as impressive as the say the F1, Super GT, and F3 machines exhibited that day (obviously), but it looked easy to maneuver by the driver and seemed very light in its movements around the exhibition lot.

Another highlight for me was seeing the Honda FCX Clarity, which, if you watch Top Gear was featured and considered by James and Jeremy to be the true car of the future.

  3. Itasha Gathering in Odaiba, Tokyo on the 4th of October 2009. For those who are not aware, an Itasha is a car decked out with anime decals!

It translate to "painful car", which can be viewed as painfully embarrassing for the owner or painful to their wallets. It is a relatively new scene here in Japan and was very interesting to see. There were some nice example of nicely done up cars which also has the performance to match, so you can laugh at them until they whoop your ass on the track. There were close to 800 cars with not enough time to get the details but we did what was possible to show the event as a whole. Just about any type of vehicle participated in the event from VIP, Imports, Classics, K-Cars, Full tuned Sports, Wagons, Family and ECO.

Some may feel that the vehicles have been defaced and some may take a more light-hearted view. One thing that is for certain is that there are alot of creative ways to accent your vehicle with vinyl and many of the designs took alot of time and effort to create.

Hope you guy enjoy the pictures and get some creative inspiration out of them.

  6. I have so far avoided ordering parts from you for our business (Red R Racing), due to the fact i sent you a lengthy e-mail explaining to you who we were and what we do and the fact id like to do business with you and recieved no reply. Now that you are a member on here and a bit more accessible i may decide to include you guys as part of our suppliers.

    Paul Diemar

Thank you for the heads up. Please provide us with your e-mail address so that we can see what has happened regarding your e-mail. Sometimes e-mails from new accounts get caught up in the junk filter and I apologize for this.

  10. Hello, this is Patrick from RHDJapan. Many of you have done business with us in the past and some may have never heard of us. After several years of developing our business here in Tokyo Japan we have finally got enough time to take care of all the day to day orders and requests and will be spending more time on the forums. During our travels to the different forums we will be looking for more forums to sponsor as well as adding helpful information along with addressing any questions or concerns about our business that have been started on the forums.

Wishing all the best from RHDJapan!!

Patrick, Russell, Kazuki, Masa, Rasmus, Takeru, Norlio and Maru!!
