  1. There is a seller on ebay (northside nissan) selling GTR Parts including a rebuilt gearbox...located in WA.

Prob not from the same car OP is talking about . I actually bought a used GTR wheel centre cap from them- happy with their service! :) I just found it a bit of a coincedence that its a rebuilt GTR box for sale in WA from a Nissan dealership...

  2. Hope this helps you out...

Passenger Rack end - Nissan Japan Part Number: 49521KA - $114
    Passenger Tie-rod end - Nissan Japan Part Number: 49520KA - $108AUD
Drivers Rack end - Nissan Japan Part Number: 49521K - $114
    Drivers Tie-rod end - Nissan Japan Part Number: 49520K - $108AUD

Helps alot! I thought rack ends and tie rod ends were one and the same. Probably explains alot of my confusion lol Thanks very much for that info.

  3. Hey guys, adambruv on the forum here linked me to these tie rod ends to suit M35 AWD (on the facebook page after I didnt have much success looking on here at the time - link above was no longer listed)

    (originally for nissan 350z 03-09)

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/170577303396?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

$55 free postage ! currently waiting for mine to be delivered so I can replace my shagged rack ends.

screenshot incase the link gets made redundant by the time you see this page

    Few questions:

    1) Do people really replace the ball joint only of the rack ends or do they buy replacements as I have done (found a few posts talking about rack ends then people linking lower ball joints only...)

    2) Am I going to have to cut 3mm off as Sydsyd did on his 350z/g35 ones ? (a couple of posts above this)

    3) Is there a difference between the 2WD and AWD tie rod ends? - Becuase I had a ebay seller say his 2WD tie rod ends will not suit AWD.

    Thanks!

  4. UPDATE !!!! a very good one.

Turned out the BOV that i was tightening was slowly becoming loose over time and leaking boost because i didnt lock the vac nipple against it once adjusted! I was wondering why it seemed to fix the issue but then came back!

So on the drive to work this morning - the car felt way better, sounded way better, and no black shit unless I Really, really gun it. BOV is on its hardest setting. anything after a few twists and it leaks boost badly.

  5. Putty Rd cruise!!!

Start from Windsor and cruise up the putty to Singleton and have lunch.......

cruise date could be May 11th or May 18th.

there balls rolling, lets get some feed back.

(I got a track day on the 25th April so hopefully the cars not broken and pretty busy up until then)

Yep these days suit me well leaving from windsor - 100% in if this goes ahead.

  6. It was a decent leak, no wonder it was blowing fuel out the zorst the last 4 months.

A quick pressure test would have found it in no time. :P

I finally got access to a workshop and compressor - but we couldn't find any leaks under pressure, we replaced some pipes and worm drives for good measure though - it's all nice and tight now but the problem persists.

He did do a pressure test! makes me worried about my black smoke now lol

Dunc has the black smoke completely gone?

  7. Hey Scotty,

The Impul has been reset yes - cleared all codes

I BELIEVE i was given the stock ECU with all the parts...what would we be testing exactly ?

yes at 3k the boost is pretty much 15psi -the accelerator is probably about 25%? depressed when mildly accelerating up to 80kph...i thought only really high RPM would cause an excessive dumping of fuel but i often drive with the pedal depressed at 25% to get to 80kph, i think everyone does !

I might have the stock BOV - thats a good idea.

  8. Hey guys

my 2002 m35 is running rich

This all started when my AFM died on the m2 a few weeks ago

was replaced with a scotty AFM (thanks mate) and i knew they run a little bit more rich in the higher rpm...

At the time of replacing the AFM i stupidly loosened the BOV spring thinking it might protect the car a bit more -recircing-as the car compressor surges ALOT. Well of course this caused the car to run extremely rich due to what i assume was a massive boost leak with the spring so soft. I did like 200kms to a tank and fouled my plugs

Tightened the spring back up as much as i could and economy came back (a bit) but due to fouled plugs i knew i had to change to see if i can start getting 400km to a tank again..

Replaced my plugs a few days ago with a fresh oil change.. Feels much better - however under load , say at 3000rpm at 80kph mostly up a slight hill, I get belowing black smoke from exhaust.

Car has Impul ECU - TBE - Front mount. BOV is turbosmart plumb-back

I could go and buy a genuine AFM - but i have a feeling i may have a boost leak ? I am in talks with another user who lives nearby and our plan was as soon as i have changed the plugs to try his really good working AFM and see if the problem dissapears - failing that a smoke test machine to see if any leaks....he hasnt logged into the forum for a little while so i thought i might also ask you all - am i missing anything - all advice welcome. Just had the oil changed and the PCV valve was inspected and seemed to be ok.

  9. Re; rack, No worries, any time mate.

Yeah, well you don't want him getting in trouble; they aren't shy about their labour charge, are they?

    Lol not shy at all.

Convienience factor was pretty good...Oh did i mention while he was there he did 2 pink slips for me (one for my stagea one for my aurion ,rego both due feb lol) $46 each ....passed with flying colours ! LOL

Check out lube mobile pricing haha its a clever business ill give it that

    http://www.lubemobile.com.au/car-repairs.html

  10. If you need a rack, I have one that I'm happy to let go? Maybe $125 would cover it? You're welcome to inspect it, so you know what you're getting.

Not terrible price considering the work done; but if it was my mate, I'd be hoping for less in labour.

Yeah i could be interested in the rack, it doesnt look to bad to replace....with the car jacked up both sides had play (he initially thought inner tie rod ends?) but both sides had play left and right....but i can really only feel the wobble from from the front left....(mainly under brakeing but also can hear a clunk when rolling over say a speed bump or at speed with a small pot hole.divet in the road - somethings definately wobbling)

Probably going to get a pedders suspension check/report and see what they say.

I'll be in touch about that rack mate cheers!

Yeah i know what you mean but lube mobile have to charge 120 per hour! think he put 2.5 hours labour all up even though it was a fair bit more..just so bosses dont get too sus on him lol

  11. being very time poor these last few weekends and the next few to come...I asked a mate who works for lube mobile to hook a brother up and service my M35

I paid $700 all up which i think is ok seeing as he was there from 8am till 2pm ( we talked shit from 8am till basically 9:30 lol)

basic service - he used penrite 5w 30 and a repco oil filter (they dont have filters in the vans they take yours, drive to a shop and buy the oil and the filter) think on the website they charge $269 and waive the call out fee for this part.

6x new NGK iridium spark plugs lfr6aix-11 - fitted

Front brake pads replacement (rears about 60% left still) - I gave him some girling 350z brembo pads to fit and brake bleed with genuine nissan fluid -which he had :)

I supplied the brake pads but thats still $700 all up.

Now all I have to fix is the annoying wobble (front passenger i think) which he thinks is steering rack.

Normally would tackle this stuff and make a day of it...but it would still be up for $300 ish in parts - just too busy atm. I'm Happy.
