  1. Your confusing two different things.

    (a) Lowering a normal car as low as it can go before it hits the ground

    (b) Having a car built to be as low as it can to the ground.

It's not just about centre of gravity, you have to look at what all the suspension of the car is doing.

    i has a lemon?

lol i think the do luck kit is sex but then the 400r kit is sex but then the top secret kit is sex >< guess it goes by wat u like at the end of the day :D

  2. Get an oil test done and you should get high PQ levels which would indicate ferrous material in the oil other than bearings.

Obviously high levels of copper and lead will indicate bearing failure as a result of this.

Wear Check Australia are the people to call for the test kits, cost about $35-40 and takes a few days to get the results.

Don't dump the oil out of it until the test sample is taken

true, cheers 4 the info guess ill get that done in a few weeks guess ill post on how it goes, till then thnx for the help pplz

  3. well in my other links this other guy that had the exact identical problem had changed all his belts and the noise was gone, so i might have a similar issue as i really don't know when my belts are due but it seems to be over due for em or something coming up on 111,000 k's so everything needs to be changed. timing, water pump etc. and get em to tighten the harmonic balancer or w/e at the same time. but yea cheers 4 the help.

  4. If its a knocking sounds that seems like its coming from the rocket cover, or somewhere below, the harmonic balancer might be loose. You can tell if you rev the engine and the tapping increases. Obviously while at higher speeds it will be unnoticable. If this sounds like a familar story you could be ok and its as simple as just tightening the bolt which feeds through the harmonic balancer, may also need to adjusts your belts as well. However if you have left it for to long and its slowly come loose over a period of time which btw will be completly oblivious to you, kind of like a cancer through your bottom end and treating cancer is expensive...aka bottom rebuild. Never the less if your only just noticed you might be ok, as i bloody hope so, but i sugguest you get your car to an expierencd mechine asap, as this is an inherent curse RB's carry, i know i had cancer too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMkOOFyCp80 well this is the sound of my engine and its coming from where the front of the block is i havnt drivin it around since like.... 5 mnths ago sorta sitting around doing nothing i crank it over a few times to keep things lively but yea just noticed this noise.

  5. Get the knocking sound sorted before you dyno it. Last thing you want is it throwing a rod out the side of the block on the dyno.

If its rising with revs then theres a good chance that you have done a big end bearing, Ive been down this road once myself... never fun...

so im reading this article on knocking sounds and stuff and as above you've experienced this? just needed some help, woundering if you could lend some, so i have this slight very hard to hear knock starts at about 1200rpm and falls at 1600rpm sounds almost identical to this guys sound (

) on youtube if you have the time, but a lil less noticable, i dont know if its the timing belts or what =S as its coming from the front section of the engine directly where the timing belts sit ( i think at the front end of the engine?)

and now i have this thought it could be a knocking sound and now sorta seeking advice. and if it is? top or bottom and perhaps you might even know costs?

thnx any advice is much appreciated,

    - Dave

  6. just a quick QQ

so ive learnt how to install a manual boost controller but eh, i wants a EBC. so its confusing. i justt want to know who can install em an how much is the general cost? (labor)

  7. Its definitely cheaper from eastern states.

BUT if the car is modded, you still have to get it back to stock before you can get it thru the pits.

If you calculate the labour to take the aftermarket part out then put in stock parts(purchasing stock parts?) and fit it back aftermarket parts in, you still come back to the same lump sum as getting a car locally.

One of my mate decided to do this, huge problem was getting the parts out. Did all the right way (He did himself to save money). When taking out parts, he broke the nuts. Then he couldnt drive the car. Got it towed to a workshop and pay alot more to get it done.

End of the day, its still up to you, if you got the time and patience go ahead!

    Good luck.

true true, cheers for the input.

  8. certainly does!

Technically you are not aloud to drive the car once it hits WA Soil without a permit, Its a load of bollocks imo.. I have always just driven the car.. i mean ffs its got plates on it!

you will be required to take it over the pits. Unless its mickey mouse they will most defiantly find something that needs doing on it before it can be licenced, you will also need to pay the vehicle transfer stamp duty, 6 months rego and the pit inspection at the same time if you get it over in one shot.

    what are you buying?

but i mean cutting to the chase, yah bring it all over in one shot, put it over the pits pay yah rego stamp duty an get fixed whatever they say to get fixed, other then that you dont have to pay for any importing fee's or anything silly like that do you?

and as for what im buying well, its a toss up between a soarer or s15 and having a look at em they are deff cheaper from over east, at the moment i got a 33 but mmmm yea looking for somethin different but yea just needing to know the process before i have my mind set in stone about a particular car an then finding out its gonna be impossible to get it over here, i mean pits is fine they tell yah u what u need 2 get fixed, u fix it an take it over but umm yea.
