As the topic and topic description says.
Im tossing up between 2 R34 GT-T's, one manual and the other being tiptronic,
now the auto is 4 grand cheaper than the manual, so basically i was wondering if i could save some cash by purchasing the auto R34 and then buying a manual gearbox etc and getting it converted all cheaper than buying the manual R34. As far as i know i'll need the gearbox (obviously
) and the ECU, anything else? After getting it converted would it be exactly the same as if i had bought any manual R34 or will it be a little different?Alex G

Can you please explain that better? LOL. I'm kind of a noob? Do you mean buy the WHOLE front end of a GTR including the engine? and sell the front end of my GT? Will I need to mod my car heaps to attach the GTR front end to my GT? Plllleeeeaaaasseee explain.
i think he means buy the front cut and sell everything besides the stuff you need...

Who do you think will win between Melbourne Victory and Juventus when they play on the 30th of May at Telstra Dome? I really think melb will get absolutely raped in the game

if your lucky enough to get the shifts you want i know that Bunnings pays very well about 2-4 bucks extra an hour than youd earn at any supermarket store ie coles. Also theyre open sundays obviously so you have more room for extra shifts if you want.

Yeh I have the same problem, somebody depadged my red/white GT badge... Sad sad world! I found that just jap sold some, but at 50 bucks a badge... I also went to a panel beater to see how much it would cost to fill in the holes and repaint it... 900 bucks! Goes to show a new badge isnt that expensive afterall...
damn! $900! you could get heaps of badges for that!
but in a way it might be better having no/nearly no badges on your car so people stop friggin stealing them but then with that they will aim to steal something else...

A-Spec in the city sell a few badges. quality is 'meh' though.

Hey guys anyone know where i could find 1 Blue "GT" Badge (NA Skyline) and the "S" badge for the hood. Some a**h**** debadged my car today =(, just makes me think why in the world would they wanna do such a thing! I assume wreckers and Nissan would sell them (but for a higher price). How much do they roughly go for anyone know?
Any help would be much appreciated =)

OMG i kno how u feel mate i was in a fairly very scary similar situation,
Here's my long story....
This was a fair while ago around jan/feb of dis yr. I didnt really wanna say anything earlier until now if the guy stalks these forums u kno :S bt here we go, anyway i was at hilarys with a mate, we were lookin to take sum pics of my car as the sun was setting down it was around 8pm dat time (daylight savings then) parked the car and started taking a few pics and this was in a parking place with bout 4-6 other cars THEN this guy comes from the beach goes to his RENTED car puts all his shit in it then like as he reversed out i was takin sum pics and wasnt really paying any attention to other cars my mate turned around after looking out at the ocean for a bit and sees that f***** rented car with the passengers side window down looking at my car and seems to be writing something down.
my mate tells me what the hell is dat bloke doing, i turn around and see him, he then sets off then mate starts yellin and then the car STOPS......Reversing lights come on and he reverses back and stops where my friend and I were standing and goes "What's the problem guys???" i go to him "Were u taking my number plate down?" he says "No i got no idea what ur talking about mate!" then my mate looks over into the window of the car and sees a piece of paper and a pen with sumthing written down.......my friend goes "so whats that in there then?" i look over and OMFG my rego number!!! as soon as dat happened he jus sort of went "hmph" and went off.....we set straight off to report it to the cops and see if they could do sumthin and we thought that was the end of it.......BOY WE WERE WRONG!
So we set off and by this time roads were fairly empty surprisingly and about 5 mins into the journey to cop station i notice the same car (Toyota Corolla Sedan-White-rented one with that key symbol on the side forgot which rental hire company it is) yeah notice a toyota corolla behind us and so i see a round-about coming ahead and think quick of a way to see if its the same freakshow as b4, so get up to roundabout and do a full circle around it and at first the car passed then bout another 10-15m down the same road that car PULLS OVER in a bus loading bay thingy......
pass the car and he pulls out....by now we knew sumthing pretty f*kd up was goin on, had sum issues losing him due to mainstream traffic appearing by now (highway) and yes he definetely was following us, luckily we managed to lose him on a freeway in merging traffic as we had the sie to give way and i stopped and jus before the full traffic came i went off and he got stuck way behind and we def had lost him by then.
so we came to the cop station told em all about it bla bla bla, and still havent heard anything from them
i mean the thing that freaks me out most is IF he was an undercover cop in a rented corolla at the beach (lol) he wuldve shown me his badge back at the parking place, i knew dat was out of the window, i still keep thinkin about this 1 day and yes the very nxt day i went to change my number plates hoping he couldnt find my address out or anything,
i was pretty freaked out as i had bought the car bout only a month ago before then with the hard earned money i saved over my high skool years and decide to take sum pics coz i needed sum only to find sum1 stalking me, and my car is DEAD stock (R34 NA) only with muffler, low kings and limo tint.
Has ANYONE got any idea what the hell was he thinkin of doin (its pretty obvious bt writing down license plate AND following me jus doesnt mix imo)

im about 6% through the game, i jus bin roaming/exploring the new city and i gotta say its my fav gta so far as expected, the 1 thing that im dissapointed about is that u arent able to modify cars anymore

Just wondering how much $ im lookin at about roughly for a full white respray, the cars already white just has sum fairly faded parts and ppl have keyed it and chipped bits off the paint off
, i kno u pay extra if u want the inside of an an engine bay resprayed etc bt im jus lookin at the outside , as the inside doesnt need any at all.cheers

i REALLY hate all those BMW male drivers aged in their 30's who wear a pair of sunnies on a rainy day and wear 1 of those head ear piece talkin things!!! biggest a**h**** ever!!!

awesome lol. I guess it shouldn't be a problem for me cause i would be willing to pay that aroudn that for insurance. Now it's just a matter of finding the right car and getting rid of my current car....

Does anyone know any business/workshop dat can import specific half cuts such as a r34 GTT or sell R34 GTT half cuts??? as ive tried hard to find one in WA dat has any and didnt find anythin
and who would u recommend to do a conversion of such if i already had the parts (R34 25GT>>>GTT), i kno dis type of question gets asked around alot bt i would like to know where a good conversion workshop is in WA. and b4 any says i should sell my na and go buy a turbo one i wont as the current r34 25gt i bought was a good deal and had quite a bit of stuff done to it (ICE, interior etc)looking forward to the answers guys/girls

Jus like the topic said, by it i mean look wise (the way itll look in the bay), performance, economy etc. And if lets say u had a 34 gtr engine in a 32 and vice versa would it mean u would have to use 34 drivetrain parts in a converted 32 (i mean R34 gtt drivetrain parts as i believe gtr parts would cost too much $$$, so the car ends up being rwd)

I'm 22 turning 23 in a couple of months and have full license with a completely clean record. How much do you guys think I would be paying for insurance on a r34 GT? I've actually checked with raa and for some reason, they won't offer me insurance lol. Would I have to go to a specialised insurance company like shannons or somethign?

bout the insurance quote, rac doesnt offer insurance coz they wont insure imports, bout the quote well i can tell u dat my quote for a 1998 R34 25GT is 1500 with HIGHER excess adjusted and im wit Just cars and im on my P's lol, insurance i would imagine would be about half of what i pay if not mayb bit cheaper.

Nuh no issues with rain seeping in. The weather shield is not factory std so rain shouldnt be seeping in. Who drives with their window down when its rainin anyway? lol...
yeah might give it a go dis w/e, bt ive looked at mine and it seems if i did take the weathershield off the rubber trim around it will like have a gap between the actual rubber trim and the roof, can u then jus push in the rubber trim in then so the gap wont be there? if ya kno wat i mean, sorry if i keep asking i just wanna make 100% sure i get it right the first time and properly at dat, oh yea good point at bout the windows down lol would be a strange sight...

just wondering if an 2 door R34 NA is 4 stud or 5 stud???
i would check myself bt the car isnt home atm and wont have it back til a week later and i just started lookin at sum rims and found heaps of really nice ones bt all 5 stud. so jus wondering if an R34 NA has a 4 or 5 stud hubs.

Just rip it off. Its glued on with a pretty strong double sided tape. There r a couple of clips along the way so just watch out for them. Hard part was getting the remaining glue off. I used a plastic scraper(one i used to do sum plastering of the wall with) u can get em cheap from Bunnings. Also had to use sum `Goo off' or similar glue disolving product(also from Bunnings) to remove the reamining glue.
Only thing is the Goo Off left the rubber seal around the door a lil on the matt side. The ones around the quarter window is a gloss black n the one around my door is now a matt black. I think the Goo off kinda dissolve the surface of the rubber a lil. Car looks way better without the shields but up close the rubber seal doesn't look as appealing but its a minor cosmetic thing, depends how fussy u r with ur car.
