  1. I was just joking around mate, obviously it would cost less to do the swap back. lol.

    Also the EPA wont car about you doing an RB26 swap, its vic roads who will bend you over then! But all you will need to do is get it engeineered then you will be fine.

    Who do u reccomd for the engineering ? Anyone know the process or experience a similar situation?

  2. Well actually im just going to sell my engine in bits and pieces and just put back in the good old rb25 :P BUT i just been reading the epa article no where does it say you cannt put in a rb26 as long as it meets the same or more stringent requirements.

    s_15 LOL who said that it would cost you that much... Do`nt know who charges you that much for a quick engine swap and a reswap later on. Hopefully you been saving alot if they are charging you this much.

    i got 89.7 db backing off in the big rb26/30 woohooo thanks for your experience and information guys much appreciated. well i just put 2 cats in and 2 resonators and a big oval at DA back :D was sweetly done

  3. As Ash mentioned. You can only have one additional air intake modification.

    A GTR comes with a FMIC from the factory, so its legal to add pods and have the FMIC.

    With a GTST it comes with a SMIC from the factory, so if you add a FMIC and Pods, you have two additional air intake mods.

    But as always, read EPA guidelines and clarify with them. Lots of people drive cars that do not follow the guidelines. Do so at your own risk.

    Well you dont need to have a pod on a GTS_T all you need is to modify the box and retain the meter thats what they what after all the meter as in original functioning way

  4. Well you change it aslong as it is a upgrade which is factory standard. e.g if u got a gtr intercooler you can change it to a v-spec intercooler as long as it retains the factory fittings to it i.e sensors etc

    Dezz ur right dude, i got a large FMIC but got the standard airbox and meter as soon as they saw the air box he just closed the bonnet back :P

  7. Yep sure i been asking a cousins friend he also has a r33 gts-t with an rb26 in it and he passed a full epa check he told them straight out and made it to the same spec as an gtr.

    He put 3 cats in it from where the exhaust starts, resonators and oval muffler he said he easily passed in the test. He had the gtr injector which are 444cc only thing he added was FMIC and kept the box air meter but modded it abit and got an engineers cert onit and engine then some how got the engine number to display on the rego etc any ideas?

  8. i think having 3 cats and 3 resonaters and 1 oval muffler will fix the problem on the old 3 inch... Also what i understand from the thread is that we can have wastegates aslong as they are internal and standard right?

  9. Check the EPA/Roadworthy thread. On the last page I put up a link to the modified vehicle guidelines from the EPA. Then have a look on the vic roads website for all the info you need.

    Are we allowed to have a larger turbo i didnt see anything on that? also what about aftermarket coils?

    Also u can put a rb26 engine in a gts-t Look at section d and e under engines

  10. i guess its just best to get a emissions test but that costs a fortune, geez stadard injectors only flow to about 14psi and the coils are shit hehe i guess they have made the laws in this way so u can do one thing but cannt do the other so its best not doing anything hehehe

    u need a rwc so does the bottem end match the rego sticker, if it does how far u from airport west?

    did u get epa'd?

    yea for the exhaust but how would i go about getting the bottom end matching the number on the rego sticker? im about 45min drive from air port west.
