  1. screen is usable- if it works properly then replace the radio with a DVD unit that has NTSC output and you are set (sort of). find someone that understands integration in your are (I do this but I'm in brissy.) done. its not really a DIY job unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing.

    Hi Chris

I was wondering if I'd be able to get your mobile number to give you a buzz to discuss, if possible. I would call you during the day only 9-5. I've rad a few articles and you seem like the go to guy for advice. I would appreciate it very much.

  2. i took mine off and change it to 5 inch clarion screen, rewire the whole of inside so still can go up and down with a switch without the gps thing,

    working pretty good

Hmmm sounds interesting. I like the idea of using a switch. Have u got any pics of your setup, with the switch? Also, any more details about the wiring to get the mechanism to go up and down?

  3. Hi Guys

I've upgraded my R33 to an R34. I have the stock tv LCD screen on top of the dash in the R34. The screen works fine, but I don't like the stock audio setup.

Basically, I want to remove the stock radio and buy a single DVD/DivX/mp3/CD deck and run video's off the the factory LCD screen. I don't want to run an iPod setup. Also, I was hoping to hook the new deck directly to the stock screen. I don't want to use the head-phone jack inputs on the front.

I understand that the stock screen is running on a NTSC signal, so I would probably upgrade the screen to a PAL one that fits into the stock mechanism as I would like for it to remain hidden and keep the car as original looking as possible.

Has anybody done something like this already? Can somebody recommend something to me?

  4. For those that know how bad the factory interior paint is on the R34's (seems to dissolve in the Aussie heat)

I've found a low-semi gloss alternative that seems pretty good, Powerplus PJ9184 "SNB 150 Desert Rose Metallic"

Just soak/scrub the original paint off with metho, takes no time at all, prime and hit with this stuff and in comes out looking pretty swish again.

Hmm can't figure out how to remove the dash/units. I've removed the ash tray, unscrewed the screw and popped out the plastic surround around the gear shifter. (tiptronic). However, I can't seem to pull the plastic forward, as the other plastic for the P, R, N, D, 3, 2 seems to be in the way. I have tried lifting this up, but it seems that only the left side comes up and I can't remove it.

    Please help!

    Nick
