  1. LOL, I bougth my first house for less than that - but obviously you won't buy anything outright (that's deposit money...)

Great to hear you are enjoying the car, what is it like day to day? bet the auto shift makes it easier to live with in traffic.

Those were the days. So your advice of 'he should buy a house first' is irrelevant.

  2. How bad is the paint? (Any close up pictures of the badness?) Got any interior photos? Receipts? Stock diff? How many kms have the turbos done? Any other outstanding issues? (Fault codes, HICAS disabled etc etc).

Oh and so given the rebuild it is safe to assume this motor won't starve of oil and blow up?

    Cheers, (Feel free to PM).

    Adam

  3. 599s and 612s are the F cars I am most cautious of on the track as they go well in a straight line but are such terrible handlers and the traction control so intrusive they almost grind to a stop mid-corner. You need to be very carefully lined up in the 35 so that you dont run into the back of them on corner exit as that certainly would be an expensive mess. 360s are generally too slow to mix it with most of the stock GTRs we have on track days so dont really spend much time in their vicinity on the track. F355 and older are generally roadblocks that ruin everyones day. No hating, just generally find them annoying to the faster guys that want to get some track time in :)

Haha man, R35 GTRs are roadblocks when im in my Radical :(

  4. If you are bringing the car back to Oz, then the GT-R should have better resale. Put simply, not many people in Aus want to touch a grey import Ferrari or Porsche (or most top end Euros)...... but there are a few willing to take a plunge on a JDM GT-R.

Also that boy racer body kit on the 360 is not something I'd want on my Ferrari, (nor would I want it on my GT-R)...for the future Ferrari purchaser that body kit would be like giving it leprosy.

Yeah because the resale value of the R32 GTR attests to your theory doesn't it?

  5. Very interesting. There is a VERY well known Ferrari mechanic in Melbourne (whom my brother-in-law would take his Mondial 3.2 to) and his thoughts were that the F355 (particularly later versions) were one of the most reliable modern Ferrari's you could buy, definately rated it ahead of the 360 in that respect.

Wrong. Read up on f355 vs 360 on 6speedonline.com forums, ferrarichat.com forums and even the official ferrari.com forums, and all the owners that used to own F355s that have moved up to 360s will tell you, the 360 is the most reliable ferrari ever. Read up on F355s and valve guides and headers.

  6. You think Ferrari's are expensive to maintain? Check this GTR tax out noobs: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/127250-accident...what-i-did.html

    GTR Tax part two:

To keep the warranty on your GTR in Aus when needing to change ONE set of brake pads, you have to replace the pads on all FOUR wheels AND replace ALL FOUR DISCS! ie $200 fix becomes $10k. Me thinks most owners won't fuss about warranty...

Supras with a decent set of rims look great, such as that example.

Haha Supra vs Skyline threads are funny. There are some of these on the AU supra forums.

Havent read the whole thread, but some of SAU members sprout alot of shit.

Whoever said nissan brakes are a common upgrade for Supras is a dickhead. The most common

brake upgrade for the Supra is the big brake option found on RZ speced Supras. THATS IT. Nissan brake upgrades on Supras are unheard of, even on the old models.

And as for Sydney Kid saying the clutch and brake fluids boil in the supra, hahahaha!

Lets not quickly forget about the RB26 oil starvation issues on the track shall we?
