  1. I'm not too sure if this is the right area to post this but I'll go ahead anyway.

The following wires (found near the drivers kick panel) got a little shaven the other night while installing a stereo. I noticed the 40 amp accessories fuse under the bonnet was also blown. I have replaced the fuse which is fine (hasn't blown again) but ever since this happened my hicas light has been on the dash and wont disappear.

The wires look to be intact still, just a little stripped... (my appologies for the quality of photos)

Does anyone know what wires these are a part of? (see below)

  2. I still maintain the best "mod" you can do for a GT-R is to get yourself a cheap-arse bunky.

    This lets you:

    * drive to and park in dodgy areas without stress and worry

    * maintain and modify your GT-R without having to rush

    * have a "parts chaser" when your GT-R is in the above state

    * potentially save on fuel for when you just need to "transit"

Perhaps go halves with a relative in an old 4 cyl ute or van? You find that when you do jump back into the "R" it puts a bigger smile on your face.

    This is good advice.

  3. Anyone know where I can find the manual to this deck? (Kenwood DPX-550 - 2 Din)

I just want to know if the radio frequency can go higher than it does and what a few of the buttons/features do. It's not a huge concern as I wont be keeping the deck in there for long, just need something to listen to for the time being :P

I found the manual for DPX-500 which is the model before (found on kenwood usa site).

  4. Woohoo, its here at last! :D

Picked her up from compliance on Thursday 13th November and drove it home after not making my pit booking in Warwick.

Drove it back to O'Connor on Friday and lined up for about an hour, passed the pits no problems (as you would expect).

Only thing I thought was a little odd was the pits asked for a copy of import approval (which I thought was strange, since it clearly had a compliance plate which was the first thing he inspected) apart from that, he hardly even looked over the car. Inspector looked under the bonnet, got the engine number, chassis number and then checked my lights and gave it the all clear. All up it took about 1.5 hours including waiting.

I then drove up to Wangara (to Autoworx) to have the exhaust swapped back, then to Joondalup for licensing!

(Having no license plates gets a lot of attention)

Happy with my purchase, the car has very few scratched and no dents, interior is perfect apart from on top of the center gauges which is a little scuffed (oh yeah, where can I order a dash mat for an r34 gtt?).

A big thanks to Mark Hocking for finding/inspecting the vehicle for me and Alistair Maxwell at Autoworx for compliance. :)

(I'll add some pics once the car is cleaned & polished)

  5. This doesn't just happen to imports. I had (what looks like) someone put their knee into my front 1/4 panel on my VS Berlina, tried to pop it out but it still left a bit of a crease, not worth fixing when the cars only worth a little over 3k.

I'm paranoid about where I park my 34 now :/
