  1. Hi Everyone,

Been a while since i started my biuld, but shes finally comming on.

Quick question i have for you guys, been searching the net for a few days, and cant find any specific answer.

I am finishing my dry sump build, and was planing on fitting a npt male to -12an male fitting on the oil inlet on the block (thread where oil filter bolts on). but jut realised there is a oil spring release ball bearing in the block itself, is this for pressure release or draing back? can i just ignore this and go ahead and fit a fitting straight into the block, or would i have to take this bearing out and tap it and fit a grub screw?

    thanks again

    simon

  2. depends on where you want your power band at.

and also dependes on engine displacement, those cams on a rb26 will be puuuuure drag cams, but on a rb30, i pretty shure you will get peak power around 8000revs. wich can still make a pretty fun track car or even road.

  3. hahahahah, thanks guys :rofl2:

there is a fridge hehe, but no beers :D (i drank them all heheh)

will post a few pics of new place in a few weeks :P, at least this one has tile floor, so no need to paint hahahah, yuhuuuuuuuu.

pmr-33, yes its under the owneds house, the one keeping the place..........

  4. haha ,nice post.

hre is the workshop i have at the moment with a friend (mooving out in a few months to my own, friends need to convert it back to wood workshop for his buisness. but still will have around 150m2 to do my stuff in the new place, see how that one turns out)

paint i used , was a pretty cheap one, payed about 500$aus for around 350m2 (all peeeeling of right now), couldnt afford the good epoxi stuff back then (and didnt not want to spend that much on a property that was not mine :( )

pics of workshop when it started:

  5. so,

problem here is, there is no experienced machinists in any sort of racing here in spain.

so i will have to attack this myself, so, when grout filing, how do i do it, do i just remoove all the lower core plugss, and fill heach one until it is about to reach to hole?, so i just do one? or do i do each so it fill equally? do i just fill the ones on he exhaust side, or take all engine ones out?

this car will be producing around the 800bhp and lots of revs, will this be any sort of handycap on the track with temperatures? not shure what ambien tems you get there in summer, but its around 30-35ºC here in summer

    thanks

    simon

  6. Deburr, oil drains out to 8mm, oil feeds out to 7mm, grout to bottom of welsh plugs and use Nitto RB30 rods as they have an oil jet built into them that jets oil to the underside of piston using a feed off the big end bearing.

hope that answers your questions Simon...hows the Vi-PEC?

    thanks for the answer dude.

so drains to 8 and 7mm oild feeds? to where? head? mains? .....sorry dont have block infront of me to check how retarded my doubt is :P

i heard of the nitto feature, but i already have custom rods (longer, for rb26 pistons) and these dont have that feature. so as i need to take the block to get worked on anyways, was hoping there was another mod to fit the rb26 jets or some other type of jet :P (or i could just drill the rods for this, and modify the bearing for it?, but this would mean i alwasy have oil coming out..........well, thinking about it, souldnt be that bad hahha, as i have esternal pump, and could just gear diferenty to keep pressure up)

vipec. is brilliant, didnt get to use it much, as my engine was on its way out :P, in the process of full stich weld the chasis and get money to keep the projcect going. but one thing i have to add about the vipec ..or link ecus, is the ability to change all digital, analog etcetc outptus to suit your needs, thats proper top end ecu stuff, and very very very handy.

when you say grout the block? you mean take the lower welsh plugs out and put special cement in there?, if so, up to what level? as this is going to be a road / track car (high revving 3 liter thingy)

nothing else people do to their blocks¿
