  1. Spotted purple r32 GTR cruised together on Victoria Rd then he turned off after Gladesville Bridge. Damn that thing was an absolute rocket!

Also about 6:30pm white R33 off silverwater rd onto Victoria Rd, skylinesaustralia on rear windscreen, pity I had to turn off at ermington shops though

  2. Hey mate did you have a frount mount at all? Im going in for the same inspection just concerned as i also have a front mount. Did they only do the exhaust test as they said or did they take the liberty of looking all over car?

I have a front mount and they didn't say anything to me about that. Though I did have to go back again about my BOV (atmospheric) and POD again so wasted another $60 bucks so try get it done first time round. So yeh they do look under your bonnet and underneath as well as the exhaust decibel test. I think I may still have the checklist which they go through so if your keen, PM me anyone who needs it and I will scan and email you a copy of what's needed to pass.

oh and apparently high flow cats won't pass either but the guy was telling me that the RTA have recently brought in new sets of rules which do allow the high flow cats- though he still didn't pass me for it. w**ker!

I went to the guy at Granville- Archers- and have pretty much heard nothing good about him from everyone I've spoken to.

  3. i did mine, a few times actually..:D

it wouldnt fit in my oven and i wouldnt recomend it anyway

what i did was buy a 20$ heat gun form bunnings..the you just keep running it all around the seal for 10 minutes or so with out getting to close to melt the light of course..just keep it moving and get all the silicon very warm..

Then when its all warm, concentrate on one end, the inside end (where the grill is) is best, warm it real hot then just hold the light between your feet and pry that end apart .do not try to pry the whole lot at once just do the end

When you have opened one end work your way around heating a section and pulling it apart..should take 3 or 4 turns and the whole cover will be off.

it really isnt too hard, but it takes patience, dont try force it apart, if the silicon is hot enough it will pry apart without too much effort..once the seal is cracked its easy

Too put it back together just reheat the silicon and stick it back together you don't really need to put new silicon in..

you can also use the heatgun to dry the condensation, but dont get too close..i made that mistake once and your light goes from fine too f**ked in about 3 second..

..im glad I read this thread cause its done it again so maybe its that little rubber hose causing my problems..

hmm sounds easy enough .. but knowing me, i'll probably heat the glass, pry it off, shatter everywhere and in my eyes lol

will defs be giving this a go though, cheers for the info Artz!

  4. Helloo, so i've got a nasty crack in my R34 headlight and rain is constantly seeping in. Did silicone it up but the headlight looks muggy and terrible overall.

So, was wondering if anywhere in Sydney do headlight repairs to fix the glass/plastic cover.

Or a long shot - if anybody anywhere make new plastic/glass covers for headlights. Because lets be honest $300-$500 for a single used Xenon headlight is too expensive.

Considered option 2: (if anybody has tried this and works, please let me know!)

    - Sourcing a used passenger side headlight Xenon or Not - seem to be a lot floating around with brackets snapped off. Heating up the casing or cutting the silicone around the headlight and removing the actual glass/plastic and siliconing this back onto my original Xenon headlight.

  6. Hey guys, so got one of these beauty's in the mail the other day, so I have about 2 weeks left to get this sorted.

    img1951n.th.jpg

..so now the question is does anyone have a stock exhaust for a R34 GT-T to lend/borrow a poor uni student or im willing to pay a bit of cash- just bolt on and then return back after the test has been passed.

Im from the Syd. West area.

Also, this is my first 'noise test', was wondering how do these come about? I hear you need to be dobbed in on 3 separate incidences and my mechanic tells me the RTA now have people viewing CCTV footage and any car that they suspect not being able to pass this test they are pulling in as well.
