  1. As topic states I need a pair of radiator top mounts, I'm not sure if any of the other skylines use the same mounts or not. But keen to buy a pair that'll fit as Nissan Australia said it would take them a cpl months to get them and I need them ASAP. If anyone knows a shop I that sells them please let me know.

    Thanks

  2. Hmm your going to want a different spec motor for "drag racing" to circuit n street. If u just want it to be quick in a straight line get at least 270 degree cams. But if u want it for track n street as well I'd make it at least a 2.8L since your replacing the crank rods n Pistons anyways. I saved a few K when I built mine n stuck with a 2.6L but it has 270degree cams n -5 turbos so is a bit laggy. Makes 550hp on E85 n seems reasonably reliable (for a Gtr, every Gtr owner also needs a diesel hilux so they can still get to work lol) bn told around 500hp is about the reliability level for the 33gtr drivetrain ( depending how much abuse it of course)

  3. Heard a noise while driving, so jacked each wheel up, the front drivers side had a bit of play in it, the rest seemed solid. I'm assuming that a fair sign of a rooted bearing? If so do I need to order genuine ones from Nissan, from memory they were about 500 each. Or are the CBC ones just jap sell good quality? Also car has done about 155,000 so should I be replacing all 4??

  4. There is definitely gains to be made from cams, tho just increasing the duration just shifts the power curve higher up the rev range. (So more lag down low more power up top) higher lift should help get more air in/out so more power. If you don't worry bout lag down low n want more power up top go more duration, but I wouldn't go more then 260 with those turbos. I got 270's n -5's, so my car is pretty laggy just driving around, but is good fun when the power comes on, which I think makes up for the lag so doesn't worry me too much.

  5. Plenty of safety precautions on the aquamist kit, an I think it's necessary on any setup for it to cut automatically n either drop u back to low boost or limit ur revs should a injector clog or u just run out of water/ break a line ect. Wanted to put a water meth kit on but neither of the tuners I used in Brisbane had much experience in tuning it an didn't recommend it. Now I got n Eflex tune instead but it's about 3 hours to the closest servo that sells it so I drive round on 98 99% of the time. Getting it tuned now to e85, it's only n hour n a half to the closest servo n it's more common.

  6. Currently running 400kwatw on E 85 with a Bosch 044, looking for another 50kw atw but know the 044 must be close to maxed out. Will a walbro 450 in tank handle that ok, or are there better options, don't really want to lose more boot space to a surge tank as the car is my weekender. Running ID 1300's if that is any help. Any advice will be appreciated

  7. R32-25t is right. Cam gears, compression ratio, changing the engine capacity or putting smaller turbos on is what will increase response. Of course a good tune is always necessary but won't make the turbos smaller, I have -5's on a 2.6. 4500-5 k is where they hit full boost. An on tight corners an tracks I wish I had smaller turbos sometimes, as some corners 2nd gear is too Laggy you can drop it back to first but ur got 6000rpm n close to 400kw on tap which isn't really what u want either. Fast corners or straight lines -5's are great.

  8. Got a couple trust airinx pod filters that came with a hard intake piping kit, my mechanic put them on when I got the motor rebuilt. My concerns are they haven't been oiled n they are a foam filter, a course one at that n they just look a little dodgy to me. Firstly are they meant to be oiled? Is normal motorbike air cleaner oil good? And secondly even when they're oiled are they any good?

  9. Does this mean if u get ur Car tuned with a new fuel filter, it will soon lean the tune right out as it clogs? Or is there a decent brand of filter or bigger filter that won't clog... As easily anyway? Currently have 1300cc injectors in an just run in my new engine, I only have a Bosch 040 fuel pump which tuner said would max around 500hp with e85. N said maybe a twin in fuel tank mite be a possibility as I don't really want a surge tank taking up the already small boot. Or is there in tank single fuel pumps that'll run 600hpatw no worries. These "E85" pumps, are they fine for normal fuel too? As I'll be running wotever suites at the time.
