  1. Hi buddy,

Not sure what you mean by getting them 'fixed'. Are your rims damaged currently? I don't see how a brand of rims tend to be better than another brand too, with the exception of forged or lightweight rims. IMO, rims are mostly for aesthetics.

Just to add ( and to rant! ), I recently had to change my 19" bridgestone 225/40 front tire as it exploded on me - cost me $600 for one piece!!!

  2. A few years back, my tuner highly recommended this product, but unfortunately I didn't get the specifics of why and what it could do for your engine. Well anyways, I chanced upon a 2nd-hand set and installed it for my Subaru Forester Turbo. Unfortunately even after tuning there was no discernable difference to my butt dyno, so I don't recommend getting it.

  3. I'm the 2nd owner of my car since it was imported; when purchased, there was no evidence to suggest that an Australian standard immobiliser has been installed. No dangling proximity thingy, nothing. Either it was professionally integrated into the carkey or it wasn't installed somehow.

So had it been stolen at that point in time, would insurance pay up?

PS. I've since installed an aftermarket Australian immobilisation system.

  4. This might be a dumb question but...

Are all complianced cars supposed to come with an Aussie-standard immobiliser? In actually fact, does someone really find the time to install them or do importers find a way to bypass this?

Thus, what are the chances of a V35 not coming with an Aussie-standard immobiliser, and, since all imported cars are supposed to be aussie-standard immobiliser equipped, are they all automatically theft insurance ready?

  5. How do you guys get 600km per tank? Granted, I have the 5-speed auto and not the manual, but I only get like 5-8km/l. I can only get 600km per tank (approx 10km/l) on 100% highway driving.

PS. I got mine through a private seller on carsales. Been working flawlessly ever since, fortunately.

  6. Not true, I was actually looking at a brand new Endless BBK set-up costing USD$6k, just for my own looks and enjoyment. I definitely wouldn't be constantly tracking, but would enjoy the stopping power on the street. Of course, I can't afford it, and can only dream.

I disagree that you have to be nuts to buy expensive BBK and not go tracking. Firstly, expensive is a relative word. Secondly, BBK IMO looks f'n great. No head-turning car looks complete without a massive, striking set of BBKs.

So to each his own, these Project mUs are beautiful, matches Kareem's V35 body paint and hope it gets a nice new owner!

  7. Just to add, I've read that you should actually turn OFF VDC to get faster timings.

Makes sense though, with VDC on, the ecu will reduce power to rear wheels to prevent traction loss. Fastest ( fastest, not most consistent ) timing should be achieved will a good coordination of brake torque, good launch with appropriate revs and accurate shifting, with VDC off I believe.

Unfortunately I can't say this from experience.

  8. Are there differing levels of "coldness" to the spark plugs?

When I used to drive and modify my Subaru Forester, it was recommended to upgrade to "one step colder" spark plugs for every 50-100bhp increase. I believe Iridium is the most common upgrade, now they have Platinum or Copper tips, of the differences between these I have no idea.

  9. May I ask why didn't you guys go with the JWT?

I was thinkin' btw the Nismo ( High price = high quality = branding for me! But I know it's actually AEM.... ) and the JWT.

I have a slight preference towards buying the JWT because of the excellent feedback of the engine noise is makes...

With the Nismo and Fujita, how would you all rate the engine noise?

PS I have never heard any of the above 3 intakes in person so am basing my purchase on the feedback of others.
