  1. Thanks again for all your suggestions,

Jiffo, the splines in fact were ok,it is the uni joint that is the problem

it is a unique size not avail in oz.

phat 300, for that sort of price i'd rather spend the little extra and buy genuine'and

save the 2-3 hours travel(round trip) from the sunny coast to south Bris.

    Anyhow

I've ordered from the dealer up here,I should get in about 7-10 days from now.

    Thanks again Graham

  2. Thanks to those who replied.

KiwiRS4T,the shaft are different in your model to the m35

Brick,I tried Scotty first, but he doesn't have one

Daleo, Sunstate tried the better builders that they know, sent it to Brisbane, and also rang Sydney ones,

but none are interested in this one.Basically they think to make one would cost more than ordering one.

That's why I was hoping someone else has had the same problem.

I.m open to any other suggestions, but it looks like I will have to order a new one in.

I"m not in favour of a 2nd hand one,it could have the same problem.

    Thanks again,Graham

  3. Hello all you knowledgeable people out there.

As the topic says, the shaft on my m35 is stuffed on the front diff end. So much so that the gearbox specialist at Sunstate Gearbox and diff advised not to put it back as it will chew out the diff.Consequently,I now have a rear wheel drive m35 while we look at options. Problem is that the splines on the transfer case end are rare, not known in any of the parts books at the diff place.Next problem there are none at Nissan anywhere in Oz,and the quote to get one in from Japan was $900.00.

I was wondering if any one else has had this problem and what did you do to overcome it?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

P.S forget the post I put in the parts section,i had the bull by the horns

    Graham..

  4. Where are you? I have some spares to try if you are in Melbourne.

I have had the same issue come up "bank 1 camshaft sensor." Scott was as usual able to help out with both sensors I decided to replace both (aftermarket ) and they are fine after 2 weeks.I can,t speak highly enough how helpful Scott is and how reasonable his pricing is.

    Thanks again Scott

  5. yeh thats the one......Scotty's on the case in the background trying to find em cheaper or get em cheaper off my old supplier Mako!

OZ dollar is shit at the moment so its burning.

A friend of mine got his for $280 as well :S

I found it under g35 stuff or 350z I think shift kit was $220 us then with shipping and currency was the rest

Off the invoice "trg-re5ro5a-HD2 shift kit" 229.97

I bought mine from "Summit" September last year.Cost $276.75 usd.Fro memory ended up about $270 with the then better exchange rate.

  6. Spotted an arx (silver) on nicklin way between kawana and maroochydore (sunshine coast) about 6.30 p.m. last night (Thurs).. last 3 numbers of rego "310".couldn.t catch it through the traffic.Looked quite standard wih a set of aftermarket mags 17". Did look quite high at the rear.

  7. Hey, Jetwreck,

i'm wanting to buy one of these shift kits.

Leon(Commsman) took me for a run recently and i,m wrapped.

Are you looking to do another buy shortly,or should i just order from Summit.?

I can,t do the job myself, but there is a reputable auto specialist (Ron Hill Automatics)up here

on the Sunshine Coast who will it for $500 plus Matic j

    Graham.

  8. spotted very clean series 2 c34 stag, silver with body kit, parked opposite maccas in maroochydore tonight about 8.00pm.I was in blue m35 parked next to you but no onein your car,if you are on here, nice looking rig.

  9. Hi all, while servicing my m35, my mate Barry shows me the front universal joint on the front diff is a bit corroded and clunks. It looks as though it lacks lubrication.

Could one of you helpful souls with "fast" please have a look and find a part number./While talking to Scotty he suggests that it may be just as easy to try a local cv/uni repair servivce.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

    Graham.

  10. Hi all, my mate Barry ,when servicing my m35, tells me the universal joint from the shaft from gearbox to the front diff needs to by replaced. He showed it to me. It appears to have slight corrosion on it .It clunks a bit and he thinks it has lost its lubrication.

Could someone please have a look on "fast" and get a part number for me ?It would be much appreciated

Scotty suggested it may , repeat "may" be the same as gtr.and that i may be able to get one after market through cv/uni repair people.

Have any others.had similar problem?Appreciate any help that can be given.

  11. Yeh Graham, the passenger rocker gasket is rubber and perishes with the turbo heat. They arent dear from Nissan, the part number is: 13270-AL612.

They are a pain to install as the rear section only just squeezes under the aircon hose, you may need to check it is in place correctly (I use a small flat blade) before you re-install everything and find it leaks.

thanks heaps Scott. Will get onto Nissan for the part and will get it sorted.Good on you.

  12. Hi, while getting my m35 serviced my mate showed me oil dropping onto the turbo. He thinks it is from the rocker cover gasket or seal.

I remember reading about a similar problem particular to vq motors but i cant find it through "search" can anyone help me find the article and /or clarify what the problem/ fix will be.

Scotty,if you are on here, i seem to remember you had an issue like this.

  13. Guys,

My airbag light was flashing and I found the solution on the net and it worked first go on my M35.

Turn the ignition to the "on" position. Watch the airbag light closely(it will be on solid) the split second it goes off(beggining to flash) turn the ignition off, count to 5. Turn back to "on" position and do the same another 2 times.

Next time you turn it to "on" position it will blink really slowly(diagnosing) Then switch off. Next time you turn it on it will be solid and then turn off completely.

    hi fellas,

same thing happened to my m35 last night, just tried the above method. It worked..So far so good. Will report back a little later to see if the fix is long term .

Thanks so much for all the advice/ help we pick up on this site.

  14. I'd like to say thanks for your effort and persistence Dale.

Whilst I have not yet purchased the Signature swaybars that you organised, I fully intend to when the time comes and look forward to future GB's.

Much happier to buy from those that do the leg work than someone who rides coatails just to make a buck.

+1 from me for future GB.well done Dale

  15. Agree. Take it to a Nissan Dealership and get them to put it on their Consult 3 (it will tell them in plain English where the issue is)

Just a quick thank you to those who gave me advice.

Because of no garage to work in for the last 3-4 days while we had this horrendous wet spell,i was unable

to look at the car until Yesterday. In fact i went out to the car turned on the ignition and lo and behold it had

cleared itself.I took the car to my mate at Lees mobile mechanical in Caloundra.

I didn't know it, but he has Snap On diagnostic set up and what do you know it had m35 Stagea and most imports on it.

After checking all fuses, connections etc etc, he found no fault codes on the car through his diagnostic scan tool.

He thinks that there was some moisture in the electrics which have had time to dry out.

So good news on 2 counts.

! the car is ok and 2. I have a connection for any one who needs to check out their cars diagnostics

without having to pay through the nose at Mr Nissan.

    Once again cheers.
