I already have the answer for the question I asked. but thanks for your opinion.
-
I'm using "nasty old coils" because I've already ordered my new loom with series 2 smart coil connector sub loom, and I'm running a pretty much stock RB20det which will be lucky to make 180kw. I think the coils will be ok for my application.
Thanks for the feedback about the bracket. When my new coils arrive I'll have a loom and machine a new bracket up.

Hey guys,
I'm looking installing a Haltech on my RB20DET series 1 and as part of that i'm installing
RB25 Series 2 coils to remove the ignitor. Does anyone know if the standard mounting
bracket for the coils will work?
Thanks in advance.

Project cars online is like forza online.... absolute mayhem! lol
I suppose if you set up a group of guys that actually wanna race cleanly but still hard it would be good.
I've seen the V8SCOPS series. looks good. i think i might give it a go next season. The V8 seems
to be pretty hard to drive from i've been told.
I'm currently running in a GT3 series and running a few other of the "official" races just to get some more practice.

Fair enough.
I've switched over to iRacing because the online element in other games i've played like Forza, Project Cars, F12015 etc
is terrible! becuase the other guys have nothing to lose by taking you out it's a very regular occurence. Yeah you still get
some dicks in iRacing but i have found them to be fewer and far between. Sometimes I go back to the other games and
put the AI on the highest difficulty but it's just not the same. iRacing is quite expensive though.
I have signed up to the SAU league on iRacing. Hopefully it starts up again.

Hey guys,
Digging up an old thread here..... but are any of you guys still on iRacing?
-
Hi Guys,
I've just jumped on the iRacing bandwagon and I found an SAU league.
I have applied to join the league so i thought i'd put a post up here and
see how many of you are still actively playing and would be keen on
doing some races.
Regards,
Rick.

I'm Russell, Josh's mate. Talk him into coming to winton haha.
i really wanna keep it man! its an awesome car!
but i'm gunna have to sell it.. i want a nice daily... i'll buy another laurel though... maybe a 35! ;-)
-
reason for no reg is that it was gunna cost me too much for a vass (engineers) report due to modifications, small amount of damage to chassis rails and the fact i got a defect notice while driving it on a permit (thanks petit) i bought it to be a daily/track car and didnt have the cash to get the vass so just made it track only.
as for price i am definately negotiable but am not willing to negotiate without the person actually seeing the car first.

ok so i have adjusted it... but i have a bit of an issue.. a couple of the little adjusting tabs were broken off.. so i have gone one tab two far... not normally that much of an issue but because of the broken tabs i cant go back... what do i do??????
-
thanx for your replies guys.
i've tried adjusting the cables (the tension in the main cable and the balance from side to side)
doesnt seem to do much though except change the feel at the actual handbrake lever, still only locks up one wheel... got me stumped!
whats the deal with setting up the hydro? do you run new lines to the rear brake calipers from the handle and have seperate lines to run front brakes only through foot pedal? i understand how it works when there are two calipers fitted to rear disc, but not sure how it will work with the hydro?
-
i have a c33 laurel with an R33 5 stud, brake and hub upgrade, but i cant seem to get the handbrake to work real well... i can only get the rhs rear wheel to lock... as this is a drift car that is a pretty big problem!
i am used to the s13 setup that uses the caliper to lock up the rears as opposed to the drum type setup on the R33. what is the best option? upgrade brake shoes? hydraulic h/brake? lock the diff?
i really have no idea how to approach it... any help would be awesome!

Best coil packs for rb20det
in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
Posted
I totally agree with you, I have done a bit of research and by far they are a better option.
But yeah, I already have the coils ordered and the loom and ECU is also on its way with plugs for the S2 coils. The engine is a Series 1 RB20 so nothing has really been straightforward. It wasn't just for the purpose of an ignitor delete.
