  3. yeah never replaced brake pads before too scared im gonna break something lol (no pun intended)

the other option i was considering was the 370z akebono BBK or swap out to brembos but it means i need/have an excuse to get rims coz my stock 17" wont clear it lol

  4. Having a quick read of the G35driver forums apparently the early V35's had issues with the brakes wearing out quickly. The rotors are soft (to be more efficient) and wear quickly.

yeah was just surfing through it. gonna cost ~$700 to machine rotors and replace brake pads... did some thinking and either look for some brembos, purchase a set of new Akebono BBK or just get brake pads....

    opinions?

    cheers in advance =]

  5. Any of u guys had problems with brake pads wearing thin and rotors needing to be machined relatively quickly?

coz my v35 needs it again and its only been a difference of approx 25-30k.... :P ... is that right..?

feedback would be appreciated and thoughts on whether to replace/machine them or maybe start looking into some BBK?

(however looking into BBK means i probably need to get new rims due to them being the stock 17" and probably won't clear it)

  6. yeah insurance aint bad for what its worth though for me it was a bit wen i first got the car (i was 19 and saved up all those pretty pennies XD)... but maintenance/upkeep of the vehicle is a bit up there imo.... doesnt attract cops but its all in the way u drive it mostly... it shud hold it's value fairly well as its an import and comparible to the 350z. hope that helps, i have a 03' tiptronic blue v35 coupe

  7. yeah i agree its all in the way u drive.... i only get challanged every once in a while wen i gots the need for speed =X... other times its all gd crusin' in style :) though saying that i got challenged at the lights to the freeway by a black hyundai triburon and only noticed from the noise he was making with his engine whilst trying to keep up... =/

  8. Hi guys i was looking to get the oem HIDS back on the V, and wanted to change everything to white, still can't decide on 4300k or 6000k (always thought 6000k looked nicer.... hahaha... the ricer within XD) anyways, was wondering if u guys cud recommend any brands for the globes H4, H1 and wedge LEDs?

i was looking at philips but they said the crystal vision/diamond vision 1s don't last very long...

    Please and thank you =]

  9. I was quoted $199 for a service from James @ Tokyo Motorsports (a.k.a. Autoworkshop) using Motul full synth oil and quality filters. I don't see that as getting sodomised going on price and quality of service items. If you have additional work done e.g. tranny & diff oil change or coolant flush then it's going to cost more, much like it does at a dealership. My V8 Calais standard services cost is around $250 from Holden. Start adding other service items like previously mentioned and the bill goes up pretty damn quick. I've had a bill from Holden at $1200 once, that was Sodomy. I was pissed that they replaced & serviced components I didn't authorise and let the service manager know about it, In verbal AND written form. The Bill was reduced to $800 and my next service was free.

yep thats exactly how much my service started off as but as u said the more things that are needed to be done the higher the bill climbs

  10. lots of people have done the job that double din conversion through a v35 center console without breaking the electric board behind it, rather than buying the kit that made specially for v35 (seen it before, quailtywise, pretty rough) ,any other solutions? thanks

if that the only case, where to source one on the market?

riverside infiniti sell the double din bracket to allow double din conversion if thats wat ur looking for

  11. ++1

I did my 30000 service there and i was juggling between Autoworkshop and Autoworx. Since i work real close to Autoworkshop, i decide to try em out.

And boy am i glad i did.

Jamie knows his trade that's for sure. For $450 i got a full service, brake clean, handbrake adjustment and four wheel alignment. The car feels so good afterward. Not only that, he spent 20 minutes when i came and picked up the car and literally explained every little detail on the service he did. A customer service hard to find in Auto repair shop nowadays.

I'm a very happy customer.... :) ....<--- Always wanted to use this emoticon :)

+++1 for Autoworkshop, coming from nissan servicing i felt i was being jipped and being charged for things that weren't necessary, Phil at the Autoworkshop did a mid-service 35k service and changed spark plugs, belts and rear diff oil and again went through all the little servicing details and even showed them to me with bonus rim & headlight cleaning =)

overall came to about $735 although slimmed my wallet immensely, was very happy with the service at hand and the car felt smoother driving away too =)

Thanks for the recommendation guys!! :D
