  1. Nice upgrade, they look great and sound like they perform really well too.

As Touge brushed on, does it change the effectiveness of ABS? i.e. since the brakes come on harder at a smaller amount of pedal movement, will you go into a full lock before the ABS even considers kicking in?

I'm probably wrong, but it's just my understanding of ABS is based on how much pressure is applied to the Brake Pedal before it kicks in, please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Cheers.

  2. good point, but i think if only done it once won't be a problem. or you should wind the window down A bit.

That's a good point. You can make sure your door is open when you disconnect the battery, that way the window has already come down the specific amount. When you close the door to lock up, it won't go back up as the battery is already disconnected. Hopefully your window won't be open too much to allow dust etc to get in.

  3. Hey Ogz,

The main reason why people get other people to run the car once a week while their gone is to keep the battery charged up. While you are not using your car, your alarm system, clocks etc are still running. Most people will just get someone to turn on their car, leave it in idle for about 5-10 minutes once a week.

That being said, I've left my car untouched for two weeks, coming back from Holiday and the car started without any issues. But that also depends on the condition of your battery.

The other thing I've heard people do is just unplug their battery before leaving, this will stop the car from draining it while you're gone.

  4. You should try posting in the "Skyline & Other Vehicle Specific Section Discussion" section. This section is more for the V-Series Skylines and unless someone here has owned an R34 before, we most likely won't be able to help.

Before you get flamed, have you tried to do a search?

  5. do you have sum before after photoz? so we can see how good they are?

BTW. good work for siu loong bao! if that chemical thing isn't work for me, will try ur solution.

I love my Meguiars products. I just put a coat of wax on it last weekend and cleaned the headlights using the PlastX..

Mind you, my headlights weren't "hazed" like the pictures in the earlier post by siu_loong_bao(only slightly hazed), but I think prevention is better than cure.

    The wax...

Coincidently, both products have the G35 picture on it, Not the reason why I chose the products. :)

Here are some photos of the results if you're interested:

  6. Has anyone ever seen this? Would it be worthwhile? I would imagine if you do not go FI, then this would be good to do a basic re-tune your engine without getting an aftermarket ECU?

    From the G35Driver site:

    http://g35driver.com/forums/v36-engine-dri...p-bullydog.html

There are a few more reviews on this product, all positive from the G35 Driver site. i.e. Power gains, more fuel economy, change speed limiter and Rev Limiter.

It may not be as useful to us as our cars come from Japan and it seems as though the US market has a lower Octane fuel to begin with?

    What do you guys think?

  7. Hey Fox, thanks for organising the Group Buy once again. I installed mine yesterday, noticeable difference in the shifting. I didn't have to change any bolts, the wires all went in perfectly. I had a lot of trouble getting to the Transmission bolt though, well got it out easy enough, but had trouble putting it back in!

rs73, Grats on the baby boy mate! :P

  8. Oh man, that's a real shame for your car. Hope you can get it back to normal soon. Have you thought of taking to a Detailer? They might be able to do something about it?

An expensive lesson, a massive win for the dog though. Although it looks like it's eaten something bad.

    Best of luck mate.

  9. A mate of mine used the Glassy Lite product a couple of years ago on his Soarer and he tells me that it worked really well. I haven't needed to do anything with my light yet, but if I did, he has been recommending Glassy Lite to me.

He said that with my lights being as new as they are, I could probably get away with just using Step 2 and 3 in the instructions as Step 1 is quite abbraisive and is best used on lights that are very dull. This is to keep them good, a preventative. I have seen his lights now, about 2 years on, they still look pretty good, although he does do maintenance on them every now and then.

  10. As for places to eat, Golden Century in Chinatown is a good place for seafood. Lots of Korean restaurants around the corner of Pitt Street and Liverpool Street, about 5 mins walk from Chinatown.

If you've got a spare $200 per head, you can try Tetsuya's, $300 if you want the matching wine to go with the meal. I've had it on good authority that it's pretty good. Well, considering it was voted the 3rd best Restaurant in the world a couple of years ago. You'll need to book in advance for this place, at it's peak, 3 month waiting list, I think that's gone down abit since then as the GFC has hit.

Trendy bars and other places to eat would be Cockle Bay Wharf, which is the opposite side of Darling Harbour. But the better place for good drinking holes is King Street Wharf, which is on the otherside of the Sydney Aquarium when at Cockle Bay. King Street Wharf also has some nice places to eat. Bungalow8 is a pretty popular place to go.

Ivy is the "It" place as far as I know in Sydney for Friday/Saturday night drinks. You'll need to dress well to get in, for Melbournites, this shouldn't be a problem for you! It's right opposite Wynyard Station on George Street. Mind you, there are big queues to get in after ~6:30pm on a Friday night.

As for attactions, The Rocks area is generally quite nice for a walk. Bondi if you haven't been there. You're staying in the red light district of Sydney, never a dull moment there.

Oh, if you're here on a weekend, there's the Sydney Fish Markets near Pyrmont, pretty famous place to visit. Also has decent Yumcha there too.

That's about all I can think of atm. Good luck and enjoy your visit to Sydney!
