Yeah not sure why it blew it has never overheated and is always run on tuber timer... It had been running rough on cold starts and idel (as if if it was missing) for a couple of weeks before it blew (when it heats up its fine) I though it mite by the water in the chamber. they day it did properly blow huge amounts of smoke one day it was sitting in a driveway on idel for about 15 min .

Does anyone no the thread tap size and pitch for the spark plugs

  3. When i pulled out 6th cylinender spark plug it was wet (the only one so im guessing its from this location).... The previous owner screwd the thread up on cyliner 6(Cross threaded) and the plug goes in on a slight angle and not sure if all the way down as it should but still it goes in secure and i think most of the way. Could mayb the position from where it fires mite have any affect on the gasket.... And is cometic an upgrade i would have just thoughtit just better quaity so just longer lasting.

  4. I Blew My Head Gasket and in need of replacemt. Just wanting to know what the standard thickness is for and r33 skyline?? Im pretty keen to get a cometic kit off ebay and just wanting to know if i should get a thinner or thicker one and will i have to get my tuned again if i do.. Its standard internals runnin 10psi on stock setup currently 220rwhp an a SAFC 2 tune any info would be appreciated. i had a look and there is very little information around thanks

  5. Let me just say that i have searched and searched and cant belive how little there is on this subject...

Think i might have a head gasket blown as i have some of the signs eg: rough idel until it heats up, cpl of time i had masses of white smoke out the exhaust and bubbling in my radiator fluid... so i need to take the car in and get it checked over. Once the car heats up its runs fine but if you leave it to idle it sputters until you get moving (i think its buring the collant in the pistons). I cant see water in the oil, no water coming out the exhaust

    Questions are

    1. What test need to be done to check if it is a gasket or a crack ( whats the cost on these tests)

    2. What is the standard size of a gasket thickness

    3. Is a upgrade a good idea car is stockish runnin 10psi with a safc tune 220rwhp.... will i neeed to get it retuned if i do

    3. Is a head removal and gasket change hard.. im pretty good with all this stuff but never done a head on a skyline

    4. does anyone have any good links i can read on how its done

    Please help thanks

  6. .. hi ppl just chasing an estimate of the value of my skyline i have no idea where to start.. Ill list its detail and hopefully someone has a clue about the price i could ask for it...

1996 r33 skyline.... 125xxxkms Black.. Runs sweet never missed a beat, serviced every 7000 kms.. good oils always

Mods include just Jap FMIC, 17 inch drift 6 rims (white), Pod, Safc 2 (tuned to 10psi with manual boost controller) Apexi BOV, Lowered king springs.

Interior pretty sweet, minor scuff marks nothing major

Stero JVC dvd/ cd player and 4 speakers alpine and clarion

    Negatives incude..

*hail damage around 40 dents none are that that really bad just very minnor spots)

*The passanger door was in a minnor accident and has been bogged and repainted however a shit job was done and paint is not clear like the rest of the car .

*There is also a bogged and painted area on the driver side rear bumber around the petrol inlet that has been masked off so minor paint lines are evidents

    *1 shock obsorber is leaking

    *cracked front lip

Any help would be appreciated Thanks

  7. Hi just wondering if there is any suspension that is interchangeable with an r33 like s13, s14 r34..... looking for either a second hand set of coilover or shortend shocks that will suit superlow springs...

I dont have to money for a new set hence looking at other option, i found not allot of people use coilover in r33 so need to find something to suit

    any suggestions

    Cheers

  8. Hi guys i wanna lower my r33 first step is just low then if not the height i like ill look at superlow.

Ive read that the standard shock will need to be changed otherwsie they will wear out easily.. Is this true? or will 30mm drop be fine

Anwyays question is what shocks to i get.. i know of brands such as kyb and bliesteins, monroe etc.... will these suit lowering applications.. is there an option for standard length shocks or shortend shocks cause i cant find anything on the websites.

im just after something decent and cheap so anyone know the average price

cheers and advice is good advice

  9. hey guys just chasing the average price for a full set of shortend shocks for an r33 skyline coupe. Im looking and putiing some low kingsprings on and have read that it will kill the shocks if i dont get shorter ones... also where can i get some ebay seems to finally have failed me haha. not looking for anything special just something that will work..

Also my tyre fitter rekons skylines have adajustable camber as standaard..... he adjusted them when he did my wheel alignment.. Will this camber adjusment feature be able to compensate for lowering the car.. only 30mm or does it not have enough play in it.

    cheers
