  1. Thanks for the responses, I'll probably try follow what you have suggested Carbon, the small battery gives me the shits anyway doesn't hold it's charge enough most of the time as I generally only use my car as a weekender.

  2. Yeah I believe its the size that's giving me an issue. I've had people tell me I cant get a replacement here and would have to import one, and also been told only the dealer can help blah blah.

I'm getting pretty fed up with it haha.

  3. Hey guys

I'm having some trouble finding a new battery clamp for my skyline, I've been to multiple places such as supercheap, a few auto elecs and have had no luck so far.

Also went to Nissan dealership but they want to slug me $300 for the cable included which I don't want to spend.

I've attached an image of exactly what I'm after, does anyone have an idea where I could find a replacement easily?

    Cheers!

  4. Update:

I checked all the cooler pipes and they all had no problems, tight and connected.

Then as you recommended I had a feel of the fuel line before trying to turn it over, then had my housemate turn her over, and funnily enough the car started without a problem.

We let it idle for about 10 minutes to warm up then tested the engine with some higher revs, seemed to not have a problem, we ended up taking the car around the block a few times and finally put my foot down.

Didn't have a feeling like a bubble this time when I accelerated and it ran like normal, went home idled for another 10 minutes without a problem...

I honestly have no idea whats going on, as the day before it wasn't starting at all only turning over...

We're thinking of taking it for a decent drive along the highway to see how it goes, and I'll probably end up putting it in the shop early for a service.

Fingers crossed it stays all good... cheers for the help.

  5. So it will turn over/crank but wont start?

    Is there plenty of fuel?

Check the basics, check all the cooler pipes are still connected and tight,

Check there is fuel arriving at the engine to the engine from the fuel pump by feeling the fuel line after the fuel filter. Feel it before and after u get some one to turn the key on.

Its very possible ur fuel pump is dead

Yeah it's turning over but wont start, and I have a full tank.

I'll have a look at the fuel line tonight, thanks for the tip. Will get back with an update.

    Cheers.

  6. Hi guys

I've recently started having some troubles with my R33, the other day I was driving along and went to accelerate in 2nd, after about 2500rpm I felt like I was pushing down on a bubble, I released my foot instead of forcing through it, changed up and about 2 seconds later my engine cut out mid drive.

After pulling over, I tried to start up and the engine would turn over but cut out a split second after it did. I got it going by hitting my accelerator while turning the car over and then I let it idle, after 10 minutes of idling with no problems I took it for a 5 minute drive around the block, had no problems again, pulled over at home and it idled for about 30 seconds and cut out.

Now it wont turn over again and I dont want to feed it via the accelerator so I have left it alone since - I don't know much about the mechanical aspect of my car so I thought I would see what you thought before I took it into the shop.

    Cheers.

  7. Welcome aboard. Gosh those rims look familiar :)

    Famous last words. :P

You'll find all the help and info you need here.

Got your PM. Will reply shortly with the info you need.

    :P

Yeah I stole the rims off of some random bloke... he never saw it coming.

As for the boost, if I keep hanging around you blokes I'm sure it will inevitably go higher one day haha.

  8. Nice looking car u got there bro

Well you'll be doing the right thing by upgrading the exhaust first,,theres a lot of power to b gained if u get a good free flowing exhaust happening.

Front mount, not neccessary, unless you're gonna be running a lot of boost or aiming for more than 200kw.

Yeah these are real fun cars to drive, i never get tired of driving mine :P

    Enjoy it

    Thanks ben,

I'll be looking into an exhaust sometime this week, I doubt I'll be running higher boost any time soon.. but yeah I've had nothing but fun driving her around.

Hope it continues for a long time too! ;)

    Cheers,

    Nate.

  9. Welcome to the RB family bro, what plans u got for the 33? U aimin to get much power?

    Ben

Honestly I'm not sure, basic things first.

Just got rid of my stock rims and put some 18s on which look much better... next I'm thinking exhaust, and everyone keeps on mentioning front mount intercooler.... /shrug

Have a few bits and pieces to fix, ie the sound system is in a bad way :D but I'm enjoying spending time with my car that's for sure!

  10. Hey guys, just thought I'd drop in and say hi, recently became the very happy owner of my first Skyline, have loved Skylines since I was a kid and always wanted one so it was nice to fulfill a childhood dream, my car is a R33 basically stock but I have plans to slowly do it up.

New to car lingo too so hopefully can learn a few things here.

    Cheers,

    Nate.

Hey RubyRS4, I'd be keen on those rims for sure, would PM you but dont have 10 posts haha.

They should fit an R33 yeah?

  12. Hey Guys,

Not very mechanically minded so bear with me, I purchased a R33 (my first skyline which I've wanted since I was about 10 :D ) a few months ago, everything has been running very nicely.

However over probably the last week it feels like I've lost power, the accelerator feels heavier, when I downshift feels like the whole car is rumbling for a second or so after I've released the clutch.

Not really sure what's going on, it still drives but just doesn't feel right... no major noises or anything just the rumbling and loss of power...

One other thing I've noticed is that sometimes when reversing or lifting the clutch in first to roll start the car seems to struggle with it and wants to bounce...

Any ideas I'd appreciate it! I'll be taking her for a service asap anyway but looking for a possible diagnosis since I don't really have any mechanics that I know and trust..

    Cheers!
