Hey,
can any one out there offer advice on this problem thanks.
My RB 30 AUTO/Executive has intermittant attacks of not wanting to start.
This is because the fuel pump wont start pumping when the ignition is turned on.
You can go for maybe two months or so no probs then for no reason at all .........nothing.
Constant turning of the ignition key will eventually get the pump to kick in ....... after a time.
Some times leaving the ignition turned on will also get a result.
You have to listen for the sound of the pump running before spinning the motor.
Seems to have a dislike for filling stations as it often happens when filling up !!
I replaced the fuel pump myself two years ago but this did'nt fix the prob.
Have banged the boot lid.....no help.
Have looked at the computer ......no sign of moisture entering.
Replaced fuse....no help
Disconnected the power to the pump at the plug inside the boot and reseated it.....no help.
Looked at the resister plug to see if corroded, ok ( but didnt get it tested) I thought a resister either worked or it did'nt?
To me "the uninformed" it seems like an earthing problem.
I had thought the ignition barrell worn also.
The local sparky was no help so I thought i would ask here.......my first post lol.
She has clocked up 261,000 k.
Just cannot beleive it is only happening to me H..E..L..P
Thanks
