Hi All, I just changed my 5 speed auto gearbox on my V35 skyline, drove it for the first time yesterday it has lost all the power, I find it hard to even reach 60k's, having difficulty driving up hills, basically there's no "oomph"... Can anyone offer any advice? Does the ECU need to be reset? This is suppose to be a sports car but it's driving like a truck. Thanks, Rush

Help Needed V35 Gear Box
350gt premium replied to 350gt premium's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey there, I'm in Sydney mate. I got a refund on the box that I bought now just looking for a new one. The car is with the mechanic at the moment, been searching everywhere for the gearbox with only one plug. The problem I originally had is that when I was trying to reverse it did not want to take until I give a little gas and then it eventually jumps into reverse however now it does not want to go in reverse at all the forward gears are all fine. I went to an auto transmission specialist who advised me that it would cost about $4500 to fix and said it would be cheaper just getting a second box. Where is the computer? and how would I check it? So at the moment the gearbox is out of the car and it is sitting at the mechanics, what would you recommend? Thanks for the help Scotty appreciate it. Rush. -
Hi All, Need to get a new gearbox, I have a November 2004 V35 Coupe 3.5ltr with 5 speed tiptronic auto, been looking around for a new gearbox however they are all different. The box I have only has one plug attached The ones I have seen at wreckers has 3 wires coming out of the box Does anyone know if I can just buy this box and change the wiring with the box I have and install? Does anyone know where I can buy a box with only one plug? What the price would be? Even reconditioning of my box, is there perhaps a transmission place that will recondition my box? any idea on prices? Will this gearbox be compatible with a 350z? I am really stuck here any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Rush

Help Needed V35 Gear Box
350gt premium replied to 350gt premium's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I'm not sure mate it's with the mechanic at the moment, my card does not want to go in reverse at all. I took it to a few auto transmission specialists and they recommended to get a new box. I bought a new box it actually fits the only difference is the box I bought has 3 wire plugs coming out of the box and my current box only has one. Do you know if this can be changed? Have you ever come across this before? Or do you know any V35 specialists that might be able to help me? -

I bought an auto gearbox from a March 2004 V35 the gearbox is exactly the same apart from the wiring the box I have only has one wire coming out however the other box has 3 different wires...Is it possible just to get the wires from my box attach it to the appropriate section on the gearbox and install it? Has anyone done this before?? Thanks. Rush

Hey guys, I had my car washed at on of those car cafes on the hume highway. Once the car was cleaned I did a once over just to check if everything is good. Had a look at my wheels it was still dirty it looked like there was still brake dust on my wheels, told the guy and he got a cloth and tried to wipe it off and it didn't want to come off, they were stained I argued a bit and they just kept on saying it was like that already. On the receipt I got from them when I paid for the wash it has a discaimer that states " We do not accept any responsibilty fo any type of damages made to the car" I was so pissed off I couldn't do anything, took the car to a tyre and wheels shop they told me the wheels were stained due to chemicals that was used and the only way to fix it was to get the mags repainted. I had another look at the whole car and could see that some of the chemicals that was used went on to the body of my car causing the paint to bubble and eating into the paint. This is bull, I have 4 mags that are stuffed and the paint work at the front of my car has 3 big marks that can't come off. It will probably cost me about $1k plus for new mags and another $1k to fix the paint just by going to get my car cleaned. Is there anyone I can talk to in relation to this? Maybe an automotive ombudsman? They can't get away with this....
