  1. hey all,

decided to make this proper as these wheels have to go!

up for sale is a set of 4 low offset SSR KEONIGS. had these recently refurbished to like new, the dish is polished and the centres painted satin black done via wheeltech in dandenong.

all 4 have potenza 050A's, 215/45/17 tyres stretched on and have plenty of meat left!

    stud pattern - 5x114.3

    F- 17x9 +6

    R- 17x10 +9

asking $1900 for all including tyres or nearest offer, can post at buyers expense.

  5. AHHHHHHHHHHH i think you will find, shell FTG (ferntree-gully) still sells V-power racing, almost certain (:S)

stopped using it 2 months ago, after i retuned baack to 98RON.

not 100% sure its still there, but they were the ONLY ones to have it when i needed it.

  6. feel your pain birds.

i JUST recieved my EPA today for noise as part of my defect earlier this month to.

except i got done for a lot. (wheels/rideheight/coilovers/other crap)

i think its bullshit to. its an instant $75 for something that MAY not be illegal.

its the same as the law, where an officer can "spot" you speeding, how retarded.

honestly, my exhaust is WAY to loud, + a tip missing from bottoming out and smashign it off(rideheight fail).

but for other cars ive seen EPA's it seems imports are a crime to drive.

i hope you fight it birds, but at over 2k for a good barrister its hardly worth the effort..

  7. i love that WRX's are coming to an import cruise...and you want people to leave their 'falcodores behind'

    continue

i love that you drive a magna, and your on skylines australia... and your having a go at us for not making it clear we want TUNER cars.

but yeah, leave the magnadore at home.

  9. Slightly different story to what I heard pointing towards the VW guy being more so in the wrong.

    I stand corrected.

i mean as in, the 33 concerned was in HIS OWN lane, not the VW's lane.

so the VW was in the wrong.

im not defending a club member, im just stating as i read it and how the OP posted.

so no need to stand corrected, you just miss-read my post

Maybe you should educate them on the importance of an obligatory 3 second gap :)

There's no easy way about it and it takes time...but adopting a cruise culture where people who don't want to follow the rules are asked to leave will have people quickly learning how to drive safely in groups. I'm with Ash on this too (surprise, surprise), thinking about what could have happened is where the learning happens. You can't learn if the worst that could have happened does happen. This can happen in any car club and no one is pointing the finger at Vic Imports so there's no need to project it back on SAU...it's an issue that every car club needs to address and enforce their club position on it.

haha, 3 second gap would be fantastic, but educating on that would not work unfortunatly.

yeah your exactly right. and every official cruise we had, every rule was followed (as simpl as stay in the left lane to giving way to every road user basically)

luckily enough, no one has done anything silly enough to warrant them being asked to leave + banning.

but i guess you right in that aspect. just hard for the parties involved, to have so many point the finger at "whos in the wrong".

and no, i know that, it makes no difference if it were SAU or NS.com to my club.

i wasnt attacking SAU, just merely showing no matter how old we are or member base, its a very tough thing to controll.

we have strongly pointed to all members the rule in which the club is run, they agree and start their cruise.

and in this instance, i cannot see it being one persons fault, rather the actions of a few that MAY have caused it to be unsafe, however its mere guessing.

happens again and then it will be dealt with more swiftly.

  10. one that was there, just told his side, i heard from members pretty much the same.

both lead drivers were using a little more than their lane, swerved and avoided, second car back in eaqch row did the same only the 33 was in his lane and had to swerve off the road to avoid an accident.

nothing more to it than that.

and your right ash, although we dont know the speeds they were at, and basically ALL the circumstances, so its mere guess work for no real reason.

guess its best to lock this up.

OP found out about the 33 and knows all is well, so no real need for the thread

  11. Actually we've never had any remotely major issues on our cruises. There was one that might come "close" to it... Was a tyre blowout (was about 4 years ago, just freakish stuff), either way it wasn't a result of anything silly. Just some severe bad luck.

Just gotta be careful as it sure seems like there wasn't much obeying of the law going on by the sound of it (from both sides)...

So when you take that into account, comes as little surprise there was an 'incident' that could well have been signifigantly worse. Which is the main issue - what if it had been worse

Something you either do, or do not want to be associated with i guess.

Indeed it's good to see no-one is hurt, but if people do not learn from this, next time it might not be so unfortunately.

i didnt mention major, just ding's in group driving. (relates to poor control or lack of judgement on the drivers part in group driving)

as ours was in the spur, it was unavoidable i guess with 50+ cars, so we can plan better for that.

yeah taken into account. although it seems it was no ones fault, the lack of obeying road rules worries me, however it cant really be stopped.

the most recent of which was the SAU dyno day.

there were atleast 3 cars that took off rather spiritedly, (MUCH faster than needed and lossing traction in joy rides)

whilst this IS illegal, it cant really be stopped. you say dont do it, they do it when you turn around if you know what i mean?

people just need to use a little more sense, but no harm was done. no need to think of what "may" have happened as it didnt.

but agree 100% on the associated part. something needs to be address, just not sure how to go about it.

  12. hi guys, my name is scott and im sorta taking pot luck with this thread im enquiring on this forum as my cousin's a skyline jock and he recommended this site to me after i told him what happened...

im a vw owner and yesterday arvo me and a few other dubbers went for a cruise up baw baw. on the way back down the hill, we encountered a group of nissans (various- sylvias, a white 180, and i think a maroon r33). apparently one of the guys in your cruise had run into the ditch.

not trying to find out who it was nor am i looking for a sexy set of details. on behalf of the vw boys on our cruise, hope whoever had the off was not hurt, and that your ride is okay. it wasnt a pretty drive- suv's taking up the whole road and forcing you onto the grass, that frigging semi trailer that you guys may have seen, and debri all over the place.

    cheers,

    scotty

p.s. i realise there's every chance i'll get grilled pretty bad on here for being a vw driver, let alone a polo driver, let alone a diesel driver. i tend to shelve that stuff when people get hurt.

well atleast you show you do care !

cheers for upping the thread and seeing if all concerned was ok.. i got a PM from a member on the cruise saying what happened and you guys didnt stop, found this poor, but it is a mountain and other road users are bound to be on it..

cant comment as i wasnt there, but good to see everything turned out ok.

and no damage to driver or car.

First thought this sounded like a typical NS.com event - i mean, there is always someone that destroys something one thier "cruises"

And welll... it wasnt them it turns out...

Then i had a thought and i worked it out!

    http://www.vicimportsclub.com/forums/thread-1406.html

It wasn't SAU-Vic related i can tell you that much, and hopefully no-one from SAU was involved...

    I'll say no more.

yeah ash, was a vic-unoffical cruise, set up by a member.

and it was an accident, spirited driving or not.

take our first official cruise (im sure back in the say SAU had this) we had 2 accidents. no speed, just people not knowing how to drive in a pack. im sure this may have been along the same lines.

although, atleast 2 members from the mt. baw baw run ARE members of sau. one being the one involved in the incident.. cant really be shunned for exiting the road though.

    glad all are ok.

  13. I can vouch that no doubt a 300zx is extremely easy to wheel spin without even trying and can be completely accidental

:( its because were boats lol. same for any car though.. if weight distrubution is wrong it can equal or sorts of fishtale woes haha.

Maybe it's time to get some new tyres man? I'm buying new ones this week and im not even wheelspinning yet. It's just a good safety measure to practice. If the dude in front slams on his brakes or someone jaywalks it might be a difficult stop.

Is there a law against boosting a turbocharged vehicle? None that I'm familiar with. Nor do I recall any point where I broke traction, was speeding, tailgating, or where I hit your car for that matter. I'm certain if it was the case I'd have received no less than a finger or an angry stare from you and your friend - either that or my driving really didn't bother you too much until this thread. I look forward to an on the spot lecture next time round

Now how about we relax the keyboards okay? If you paid closer attention to my posts you would see that a couple of times now I have said if no one was intentionally doing stupid shit then forget about my comments because they were sparked by what H00N initially said in regards to the meet. Peace?

haha i have a set of parelli's at home as well as some 888's for track days, the nankangs on atm, are purely there for the mere fact i couldnt care less about the camber wear. so will prob slap some scond hand black straps on when they are past the wear indicator..

the fronts are fine, only -2 or so, but the rear gets a little sloppy in the rain.. even on the n/a.

lol im not trying to start shit, more or less trolling for a resonse. and sif i cared u boosted, more or less tried to shift at the same time as your spool to give me more incentive to put the TT i have in the back yard into the zed LOL..

    was just making a point..

lol no figer or death stare, my brother in the car was more perplexed as to what the hell the squeel was when you pulled in..

but on topic, no skids, no sliding or anything. where if you know the area, it was all gravel and mud we were on.. sif getting bogged in that weather lol...

    peace for sure.

  14. I have a button clutch...I also have 205 tyres with 50% tread...and a turbocharger...yet I still manage to avoid slip in the wet and I wouldn't call myself a pro. But I'm not talking about accidental slip on take off anyway, I was referring to people intentionally losing traction in the wet...which is exactly what H00N implied with his first post, particularly with the "learning how to do it" remark. As I said before, if that was not the case, then forget about my comments regarding it.

Tailgated? Get real mate...the closest I got to your vehicle was during a merge into the right lane from a left hand merging lane and there was atleast 3 metres between our cars at all times. Funny also that you didn't bring this up at the service station we both stopped at - for there was your opportune moment to offer me some constructive criticism on my driving rather than waiting for a thread to come up where I piss you off.

i have 265's with -5 camber and under 25% tread. bald really, i cant help not spin on some take off's but i can assure you no one was intentially spinning their wheels.. not that it matters.

"hoon" left early from the meet, so maybe find out of him rather than holding the gun occusing everyone mate.

atleast 3 metres my arse. you were WELL within the 2 second gap that i was entitled to..

lol bring it up? what for? it didnt piss me off or really worry me, i was just proving a point that :

    a. your not the best driver on the roads.

    b. we all make mistakes?

im not having a dig, i just thing you really need to practice what you preach.

maybe boosting behind me when a light just goes green wasnt the smartest idea.. anyways! i guess if it happens again maybe i will.

  15. LOL! @ Dori Cruise!

Yeah the pic in my sig is a R32 GTR from Japan, not mine :(

BTW your twin exhaust mufflers are different shape on each side.

The left is circular and the right is oval... :)

    haha. t'was fun times.

    botton clutch + rain + -5 camber = fail.

ROFL ! the tributes of having 5cm's of ride height. i smashed my exhaust tip off the left hand side on a touge run.

so the circular shape on the left is actually where the tip is welded to the muffler lol.

should break the other one off.. but the TT is going in, and i need a full exhaust redone soon. :P
