Took the old girl for a quick systems test run around the block last night.
nut and bolt check tonight, then book her in with Andy Kuc for a tune.
even took the pictures for the CAMS logbook.

Still got these mate???
and could you pack them if I bought them??, I would get TNT to pick them up..
shoot me an email.
-
Yep Like Funz has said above.
after the death of a driver at a private practice day in QLD last year.
you are now required to have a CAMS official present at all CAMS race tracks, it'll be a pain in the arse for a few years until,
we get a few younger guys trained up top do the job.
Cheers

do you need it for a GTsT or GTR???
I have some GTR 1's, but no GTsT 1's.
-
everybody knows, once you start you just can't stop!!!
just a local guy down here in Tassie, cost couple hundred but well worth it.

This has just put a dent in my old mate Johnnos plans
I recons because he doesn't have a neck, he shouldn't have to wear 1 though....

Kill switch needs to cut the positive battery lead and the positive feed to the alternator, doesn't have to cut the ignition separately. Cutting the alternator warning light wire will only stop the alternator from exciting it won't stop it from charging while driving.
It did on my car, even had to wire the warning light to my digital dash, because the alternator would not charge without it,
no charge from the alt + cut battery power equals car wont run..
-
my 32 has had battery moved into the boot, positive cable is run through the cabin via the battery switch,
and the auto elec used the alternator warning light to stop the car when the switch is turned off.
the alternator warning light is what excites it to charge, so if it's switched off it kills the car, only drama is it
can also kill the alternator..
Cheers

Okay, I only going off what Jamie lonergan told me, said they were not much good for circuit work but he rated them as a hillclimb tyre. I sold mine to mark Rodgers as they had/were gonna be sitting way too long. There was some snoozer selling hankook's fairly cheaply but can't find him now. Might have to rouse up brad 'stig' sheriff and see if he still has a few hundred sets spare lol
this dude is selling some second hand 255's up Burnie way, give him a buzz. 0419897983

$40 each for these 1's.

I ran on some R888's Jack, and found them to be way to hard.
if budget is no drama then the big 3 are the only option, Yoki, Dunlop's or Bridgestone.
if budget is tight then try the Nitto's, they seem really good, haven't ran a heat cycle on them yet, but they seemed good out of the box,
but that was 2 years ago.
A few of the local lads here with quick cars who can steer told me the R888's are a brilliant hill climb tyre as they worked from cold. That's on a 400 plus KW 32gtr so not overly light either. I ran them for a day or two on my gtst they seemed okay but car was heavy, and shockingly setup so it's not a decent test.

They're Ebay only type set up, just search for the seller, his seller name is his email address.
Do they have a website??

I know the name sound's a bit dodgy, and I wouldn't recommend a race suit form Pakistan most times but,
a few of our local drifers got suits through this guy, and then a few local Tarmac rally guys used him as well,
and the quality seems very good, passed through Targa Wrest Point scrutineering with out a second look.
there rated to full FIA spec, are full custom made to size, and what ever embroidery you what, for the $499
here's the last email I got from him
Dear Jon
Thank you very much for your mail and thanks for like our quality
Yes we make 3 layer FIA nomex suits
Please note a price of Three layer 8856-2000 FIA fire proof race suit is $499.00 delivered.
waiting for your order
many ThanksAzeem Iqbal
and like I said the seem to be tip top to me, couldn't pick the difference between them and the $2200 alpine star suits..
his email is [email protected]

Did you buy it from the UK direct?
Sure did mate, too dear to buy from the Aussie dealer, Aussie dealer was almost $1100.
-
I've just started fitting 1 of these to my GTR, good thing thus far, use's cheap Bosch sensors, and is 100% stand alone.
mine was $736 with the exchange rate at the time,
-
They make them to suit most early skyline.
so yes they do a R33 GTsT caliper to suit the 324m rotor.
I fitted a pair to a R33 GTst not long ago, had to nibble a little bit off the caliper it's self, and you get around 1mm of pad over hang.
all in all a good convertion.
might be worth holding out, as GK tech are almost finished with there caliper bracket, and at $99 they'll be a lot cheaper.

Check the Tasmania section, TAS-180 is selling a broken 25 and Z32 box.
-
when we do them, we spin 4 8mm nut's onto the engine cross member studs, and undo the engine cross member nut's, and they bottom out on the 8mm nut's.
drops the engine down about 30mm, makes a huge diffrence.

Nope tis just a normal R. Won't work in my fast but at the end of the model code 7 is just GTR, 8 is Vspec II and not there is Vspec I
Lol, problem is because we don't have the current up to date version of Fast like a dealer would have just files from the internet some bits may be missing or incomplete so sometimes it can't locate particular vin data. Seems to be odd in what it will and will not do though.
Thanks guy's, i'll talk to the soon to be very dissapointed owner, who paided V spec money for the car..
Motec Vs Haltech

the single greatest advantage of a Motec, is they're exceptionally updateable.
my tuner bought his Motec in 2001, and he just gets an email from Motec saying updates are available, he says yes and gets them via email,
so his 15yo ECU is on par with a current M800
I would love a Motec, but can't justify the extra few thousand that is needed to go that way.
