  1. so, bringing the thread back into line:

what should the stock psi be for an r34 gtt s1 or s2?

As far as i have been told by my mechanic who has done a fair few neos the R34 gtt (and the stagea) was released with a few different set ups for the engine tune, maybe it was bought stock at 11psi, but it probably just due to your mods and maybe a tune.mine Was running 5-7psi when i picked it up but had a tune and wound it up to 11psi, no mods at all other than that, bog stock and it pulls 161rwkw.

Also the standard gauge is in hhmg not kpa or psi as someone suggested.

  2. As chrisR34GTT had already suggested QLDStreetScene.com is where all of townsvillians organise events and cruises. Infact the locals on there want to start up a car club for townsville and surrounding areas. Might be a smart move to work in with thoes guys, but then you end up with 5000 comonwhores (no offence inteded :P ). I guess we need to know who is interested in attending, and then organise a date, time, location. Could we use the townsville drag stip to our advantage?

Its true...and none taken, despite the fact i own two commodores at the moment haha.Yeah a drag meet would be fun.

  3. Lets organise a cruise for mid year some time. Im real keen. LETS DO IT!

Thats the Plan,If we get a few shows of interest maybe we can organise something. Who is interested in organising a cruise, open to all suggestions. Get Keen everyone! Post if you want in.

  4. Keen to see what the new time is after the boost leak was finished.

I have a 34 GTT Manual Coupe with Front mount 'cooler, apexi pod, 3" turbo-back exhaust and splitfire coilpacks as far as engine mods go.

Best run was a 14.8 down the quarter. Seemed a bit slower than what I was expecting.

Boosting the car in 2 weeks to 10psi but keen to find out whether something isn't right in my 34 or if it's a standard time for non-boosted GTT's.

Yeah that is a bit slower than id expect, maybe just needs a tune, only .400 seconds faster than my bog stock auto sedan WITH the boost and intake leak.

I dont know how many runs you have done but it will improve greatly with practice if you havnt done a lot, But if your experienced than i wonder why the times are so close considering the difference in the cars...

  5. think tow truck.

meh, club lock, alarm, immobiliser, even take the coil pack loom off or the coilpacks if you're that paranoid, if they still take it they are likely pros and have been sussing it out for a while.

I've heard of people having D shackles set into concrete floors so that chains can be put through the wheels (have seen pics of this done in a garage which housed a VL Group A lol).

Yeah good idea, i keep my dirt bike chained to my garage floor, VL's are a thiefs dream, I think they are still the most commonly stolen car in australia, as with most older commodores, just too easy for thiefs.

  6. Sorry if i gave a bit of a bum steer but i put the car in for a tune the other day and found out my car had a boost leak and a few loose parts, got it fixed up and found an extra 10kw at the wheels and less lag with more boost which would change my time a little.

Pulled 160Rwkw (up from 141 after leak was fixed) after a tune and boost increase still with all stock set up including full stock exhaust.

Not bad for $400,plenty faster now, will post new time next week.

  7. Had my car (32 GTR) brought down from Brisbane a month ago....and yep, there was damage to it that wasnt noted....the passenger side tail light surround had come away from the backing, there was also a few scratches on it that weren't noted...

My main issue was the tail light surround as it was obvious and wasnt noted on the pre delivery report...the douche bag at the Adelaide depot talked some sh1t and basically dismissed me....

I have today got a response from VIP/CEVA saying they will give me $50 to repair the tail light as a 'good will gesture'....

Thats a load of BS mate...$50? And its a good will gesture? What is it gonna cost to fix it and whats their excuse for not fixing professionaly and paying for it?

  8. Many years ago one of my dads mates was a truck driver. He turned up one day asking if my dad wanted to go for a drive in one of the cars he was transporting. My dad declined knowing the guy was a bit of a dickhead and not wanting to get involved.

Got a call the next day saying how he rolled the car and was in deep shit.

Lost his job for that one. Deserved a good ass kicking really.

Shite thats crazy, What a dickhead, probably would have lost more than his job (maybe his thumbs haha) when the owner found out.

  9. I own a white 34 coupe and I have mates that own a 32 and a 33. I suggest you blokes join up to qldstreetscene.com as that is where all the local enthusiasts keep in contact.

You are right, there are plenty of imports getting around the ville these days. Thursday nights at the breakwater is usually a good meeting point

Thanks mate i might have to check that out.

  10. That is far far too expensive for the Xforce they must be charging near 1800 bucks for fitting which is BS you could do it yourself at home although has potential to be a massive pain. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=108183 i couldn't find the pricing on their website but that shows that a SS turbo back system is 1300 bucks fitting shouldnt even cost 200 bucks if you ask me.

For the price they are quoting they should be giving you a full CES system

Yeah thats what i thought, i got a quote from a good mechanic here today for a full Xforece fitted and a tune and boost increase with 3hrs dyno time for under $2000

  11. I'm also curious to know if you stalled it up on the line? I took a stock toyota soarer to the strip and ran a 14.3 and I would've though a lighter car with the same power level would be looking around 14.0????

you'll absolutely smash that time once you start tuning it up though :)

Yeah that was 300rpm launches, anything that it just spins on the line.

I raced a Soarer last week which ran consistently around 15.9-16.1 seconds. An auto turbo 6 i think.

Thats a good time you ran, about on par with the manual 2 door gtt.The 4dr has a bit more weight and its an auto.

  12. Hey,

I got a Series 2 Stagea with the Neo and Auto.

I got the slip somewhere but cant find it?

I ran a 16.0 sec @ 88MPH (at Willowbank QLD). The slip would tell the temps etc.

BOG stock, no Pod... no nothing.

Curious, did you just drop it in Drive or use the Triptonic?

Off topic kinda, but I find this funny cause My surname is Gough and Im currently shopping for a 4dr R34 GTT :)

But looking for a manual. But this info is helpful! :)

    Cheers

Yeah my 34 is bog stock, even the air filter is a genuine replacement.

That was tiptronic launching at about 3000rpm,cant hold traction past that, the 60 footer is the killer because of the lack of lowdown torque.

Thats a bit of a coincidence, ive never even met or heard of another gough haha.

  13. Hi, im currently looking for a full Turbo back exhaust sytem with dump pipe and high flow cat for my R34 GTT sedan, Was thinking 3 inch. Been looking everywhere locally (Townsville) and cant get any help, can only get an Xforce at $2850 fitted.Seems a bit much. Anyone been throught this before? If anyone can give me any suggestions on what to buy and where to get it from please help. Price and/or performance gain info would be great too. Not worried about fitting just want the system in my hands ASAP. Thanks in advance everyone.

  14. Well i expected at least one person would be interested in doin something haha

I went to the drags last saturday night and unfortunately for me it was the Holden V8 car clubs night, needless to say a lot of the cars ate me up, but i got a couple in the end.

Is anyone interested in cruising to the drags this,or any other, saturday night, v8s and rotaries have there way there every week, maybe we could help Skylines get theres.Come help represent.

  15. that is a bit slower than i expected. would've thought it would've been able to get into the high 14's, even being an auto. where you loading it up on the brakes when you were launching or just punching it when the light went green? reason i ask is i was able to get a v6 magna with just a catback exhaust to run a 14.8 @ 93mph with a 2.187 60ft

The factory tune on the 34 gtt is so restrictive, made for good efficiency/low emissions, thats the idea behind the neo.very low dual stage boost makes it hard to keep power throughout the rev range after gear changes in the auto.thats why i done the 1/4 before a tune and any mods, to see just how detuned it is.Should be low 14s at least after remapping the stock ecu and upping the boost.Should have a new time next sunday, hopefully a lot better. Then ill start modding and keep updating.Could get into the high 14's with a bit more practice, only had a few runs and its the first time in the car.

  16. Yeah the humidity up here is very annoying, walk outside for five minutes and feels like you have walked into a shower. I notice a huge difference from day time to night time driving here, mixture of humidity and air temperature definetely has a very noticable effect.

Yeah i notice that too, but night here is still hot and humid like a rainy hot day anywhere else hey.now its crazy with all this rain its just getting worse.

  17. Humidity does have an effect on any engine.

Those water parrticles are taking up space, oxygen space. The greater the humidity, the less air your engine has to breathe.

Why do you think a dyno needs input from humidty, inlet air temp, etc etc?

It's all compensated for in the dyno's computer package.

Give Trent or someone who does a lot of tuning a PM.

Those are the lines i was thinking along.Who is trent?

  18. It was tested on fifth gear (the gay little brother of top gear)

Cars were dyno tested running different fuels, Bp ultimate,V-power and independent servo 98 octane

The BP and Vpower both showed an increase in KW at the rear wheels but the V power made more

It only made a noticable difference in high performance cars, they used a WRX STi and as i remember i think it made about another 10-12kw atw with v-power vs about 8kw with the bp.

To correct a mistake, the increases are in Hp not Kw.
